This second post is because copy entered in the post above keeps being linked to the images and I don't know how to prevent that from happening.

The top image is after the Alclad II Aluminum was applied. An easier task than I would have imagined. The base is Testors black enamel. I really like the look. Dust and lint were an issue apparently. The airplane looked to be covered with the stuff after I finished spraying. I waited a couple of hours then brushed off almost all of the lint with a 1" brush with no harm to the Alclad finish.

The second image is after I painted the anti-glare on the noses this morning. It took like thirty minutes to mask the airplane for two minutes of painting. Whew! Tomorrow I attempt the second color on the tails. The anit-glare panels are MM O.D. The paint for tomorrow will be Testors yellow acrylic with a dab of orange for the tails.

This is only my second airplane nearing completion. The first is a Stearman getting its wings attached this week. After being out of the game for so many years I feel like such a newb! I know this P-82 won't be the best looking model when it's done. There are some glaring errors on it but I'll have cleared a giant hurdle when it's done and I'll have the satisfaction of having completed the project. Comments and suggestions welcome

P-82 Build Log...
Posted by fotofrank on Thursday, July 20, 2017 10:51 AM

I know the box lid says F-82G but when I'm done with this build I'll be depicting a "what if" P-82.  Anyway, I set up an account at use.com and I've uploaded two images of the P-82 to show my progress. I had been out of the game for many years and this P-82 is my second build that is nearing completion. The first is a Stearman that's getting its wings attached this week. So, here we go. Let's see if I can post a couple of pictures...
