Looks great to me! Fine job, as others have said, on the paint and weathering.

I cut triangles little squares tried the thin strips of tape that row just wouldnt cooperate untill poster tack.

Thanks Nick. Sometimes i put the tape on the canopy and using a #2 pencil to rub the frame outlines on the tape which I can cut with an Xacto. If not I use the thin tape to mask each panel which is a PITA. Thank God for the commercially available masks that save a ton of time and aggrevation.

The Dora's mottling was done with a Neo gravity fed, extra thinned paint about 12 PSI. The nose spots are RLM84 Vallejo Air extra thinned and flow improver added, sprayed at about 30 PSI. Any lower PSI would give too much overspray. I went back with MM enamel RLM83 to kill some of the Vallejo overspray and to get a tighter demarcation line.

The splinter on your Ju52 kicks a$$.

I know what you mean,  I'm always afraid something is going lift off especially on the canopies or leak under!  Or lately the darn decal sticks to the very end of the tweezer and won't come off!  with out wrecking it of course.

John thank you. I didnt know if  the masking would left up with the acrylic and the airfix canopy didnt have any framing yes I know excuses ! lol but always room for improvement.

The only thing I can suggest is when your painting your canopy is to start off painting the first coat on the canopy the interior color of the fuselage then a layer of Black and then a layer of the same primer you used on the plane itself  the lastly the green color.  That way you will get the illusion of a solid frame around the window panes and eliminate and transparency of the paint.  Just my 2 cents worth.      You have more guts than me to tackle hard edge camo on a corrogated surface,  great job

BK thank you I was going to use AK interative paints but I switched to tamiya acrylics .I was very happy with the camo thin coats with zero bleed under the mask. My next prodject I will use the ak paints or try to.

Im done this is as far as I can go with this old airfix kit .I used tamiya paints though the build except the wash I used mm flat black and gray/black chalk for exhuast and stains. thank you for your comments and for watching.

I masked the canopy tricky spots with poster tack and squared it off with putty knife. Painted with tamiya deep green and removed mask should clean up nicely with a tooth pick. some little stuff left to do on this old airfix kit.

finished with decals side windows in started with clear flat 

well my ju 52 decals never showed up  had to cancel the order. I am using airfx kit decals lets see what happens

no its an empty shell.

Your thread sparked some memories for me. Back in the late 70s, I had the opportunity to fly in Martin Caidin's JU-52, "Iron Annie" over at Space Center Executive Airport in Titusville during a CAF airshow. I was a member of the CAF Florida wing at the time.

started the weathering on the ju 52 still waiting on decals eta is the 30th . used testors flat black over all wash.

That splinter camo is sharp! Not easily done on a corrugated surface.

tested enamel pin wash on the rudder it makes the camo even darker Im counting on clear flat to lighten it a bit and stii waiting on decals!

That looks really nice, that gloss coat really makes the splinter stand out.
