I didnt like the way the dark green tamiya looks, to me its too olive so I remasked and sprayed tamiya deep green over the dark green some touch up but thats that.

Looking forwardto seeing that paint go on, a nice comparison piece there.

cab, the markings on the movie aircraft don't look like they follow standard German pratice, they look to small and all are in black. I think you would just have to look for a letter set in the right font.

Very cool. I have the MPC kit on the shelf waiting to be built. Does anyone produce decals to render the Ju-52 from "Where Eagles Dare"? Or could anyone recommend decal sets to pull together the appropriate call letters?

testing paint shades on the left is tamiya blk green and just bellow is dark green and nato blk. on the right is ak interactive RLM 70/71 this paint brushes well havent air brushed yet and its semi gloss could be different. Im slowly making the switch to acrylics I tell you its a lot easier to clean up. the shade in the center is very thinned ak paint.

Nice, i hope you do a thread as well. I have the MPC boxing of this one.

I think we are way over due a new tooled Aunti Ju, hopefully Airfix might add it to their growing list.

Would like to build another 1/72 Ju-52 someday; read somewhere not that long ago Heller's kit supposedly has the least rendering errors, will do homework again before buying anything though.

I'd "built" Airfix's 1965 Craftmaster offering immediately after buying it at the S. H. Kress & Co. store in Southgate Shopping Center in South Sacramento, absolutely couldn't get the decals to set properly, i.e. too short traversely because of skin corrugation texturing.  I've not come across any decal maker of Ju-52 decals who'd addressed this issue, will also do homework about this, meantime those who'd built this bird would love to know how to deal with it.

What I would do is scan and also measure the decals on the sheet, then put them on the plane and measure them again.  Then stretch the artwork as necessary in a graphics program and print the new ones.

John
