Mark, yes, i have posted most of my builds on here over the years. All but a smal number of my 72nd aircraft and 35th armour as built as diorama's. All my builds from last year and on this thread, i did more none dio build than usual, but tehre are stil a few including 2 engine maint scenes.

The other 2 engine maint scene i have done in the past were an He 111Z and Ju 87G-1.

All those wonderful builds and this is your first Tamiya plane?!  The pit looks great, especially for such a small scale!  One of my favorite aspects of Tamiya kits are their relatively low parts counts, but due to great engineering, you don't miss any of the small details evident in kits with greater part counts.  Looking good!

The last aircraft surprised me.  I wasn't aware of any other plane having the Corsair bend in the wings.  Neat stuff.

As always, without questions, the start of your builds always looks amazing. At 1/72 you make it look a lot bigger.  I’ll definately be following this builds progression, thank you for sharing your techniques!

Chad, yes, i am seeing what you mean. The lack of parts count certainly does not leave an under detailed kit. Even the molded on engine looks nice and would suit a seen with a panel open.

Mark, i really enjoy dioramas, i have been doing them since seeing Shep Paines crashed B-17 back in the 80's. There are not that many aircraft with the crooked wing like that. The Ju 87 is my favorite of all aircraft and as you can see i tend to do a lot of them. But i do like the Corsair as well and am planning on getting a Tamiya one of those. Must be somthing about that wing.

Your welcome mm. I have been greatly inspired by others, so if i can pass a little of that on, its only right.

Short update as i am just about ready to start painting. I have added the final parts of the kit, minus the undercarrage which i usually add at the end. The angine had been painted, i just have to add the braces and a bit of pipework. The CMK set comes with what i think are meant to be tubes for the over engine MG 17's to go in, but none of the pics show anythin like them. But i do have a set of Aires MG 17's which i was going to lay on the ground having been removed, but the engine goes further into the fuselage then i thought and the cover above the MG mounts is still in place so i will fit the guns to the engine

I am just waiting on a Montex mask site i odere from Hannants and should be here by Tues. In the mean time i will finish off cleaning up the wings and work on the other parts of the dio.

This is mainly this set from German company Airmodel. They have a very nice range of German ground equipment and most of my dio's has something of theres. And this is a very nice set.

You can also get each bit, the winch, engine and crate seperatly as well as the engine and crate together.

And thats where i am at now. As for the dio, like most of my builds, this was decided on a long time ago, I already have dio ideas for about 60% of my kits. But just before xmas i was looking at some pics in preperation of doing this build and i came across the pic below. And that added some thine else to the scene. Not only was it of interest because it has the winch and crate i am useing, but because the aircraft tail is raised up, i had not seen that before. But it makes sense for the fuselage to be horizontal if removing the engine.

My scene will have the new engine in the crate and the old one still fitted and crew still removing the covers.

I later found anothder pic of a 109 with the tail raised up, but with a tail stand made with metal rods. This makes me think this are built by the unit. So i will be scratching one from some evergreen plastics.

MM, i had not seen it until a few weeks ago and i thougt the same. I am still comparing it with the other photo which more clearly shows how the plan is held up and decideing how to go with the tail stand.

Baratheon, this is my first tamiya aircraft and i can highly recomend it. Not to many parts, nice detail out of the box and goes together well. In fact, the slight fit issues i did have i would put down to the resin pit.

Very nice dioramas!  I'm curious about your approach to the model - given the canopy on and still needing paint/detail in the pit.  I have my methods and I am always curious how others approach building a kit.  I've seen that photo a few times as well and thought it would make an excellent diorama so I'll keep watching.

BTW - Tamiya aircraft kits are like crack! 

Thanks keav. The pit is finished, well, i hope i haven't missed anthing. Its just the engine i have a little work to do on. But i will probably do that after painting.

I am always looking for pics for dio ideas, i am just glad i stumbeled on this when i did.

LOL, well, i already have a few in the stash, its very likely i'll be building more soon.

Wonderful work! I think you need another large base, however, with a Gigant loading scene to set next to the Zwilling...

You shouldn't have shown me that winch Martin. Now I'm going to have to scrounge one of those kits that you've got there with the winch , crate and engine in 48th scale. I'm sure those are offered as well .............right?

I think they do a lot of the range in the larger scale, of course i have only checkedout the 72nd stuff. Does not look like they do the crate though. Only down side is i think they can only be bought direct from Germany. But i have always had great service from them, i just got another load of bit this month, including the scaffold and some more work platforms. I go through a lot of those.
