Thanks Mike!  This airbrush is a dream!  I started off with the Harbor Frieght special, upgraded to the Passche, and still wasn't getting it to do what I wanted it too.  In walks the Iwata and knocks everyone else out the park!  Lol.  I doubt I would ever need to get any tighter with the pattern.

Thanks Chemteacher!

Nicely done ,Keyda. I love the finished model! Very well done indeed.

If you like what your CS can do now, invest in the 0.03 needle. It gets even better!

Keyda81

Thanks Rambo!  I know of a couple AC-130 kits.  I think the one that has the same paint scheme was made by Testors/Italeri, but I think that was a 1/48.  There is a 1/72 AC-130H Spectre kit that Italeri makes.  I did that one already, lol.

That's the one I was thinking of I knew I seen one before at a swap meet and it was a AC-130H. Looks like you did a fantastic job on yours.

Thanks littletimmy!  Eh, a few days ago, lol!

Thank you Toshi!

keavdog, Thank you.  I'm not entirely sure yet, lol.  It's always hard for me to pick the next one!

Thanks TheMongoose!  I love the airbrush, it's just the tool I've been needing to up my game so to speak!

Thanks tempestjohnny!

Johnny1000, Thank you!  I think I'll be able to try my hand at pre-shading panel lines now with this airbrush!  I've seen it done, and I like the effect it gives.  I'm sure I'll have to practice a lot though.  I think one of the reasons I get them out so fast is because I don't do anything weathering or stuff like that.  I've done a little on one plane.  I was going to try a few things on the little Herc, but I thought it might be too overdone with it being so small.  I'm slowly attempting new things to try and bring my builds to the next level.

Nicely done, Keyda. That camo looks especially great. Congrats on the airbrush—looks like it's already proving to be a worthy addition.

Man, you can crank out an entire fine looking model in the time it takes me to do one small part of a minor subassembly. Granted, I'm rediculously slow, but you really are blazingly fast. And kudos to that.

Best

Boy did that come out looking nice! The freehand airbrush work give realism to the camo, no hard lines.

In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

Cool little Herc. What's next given the new airbrush?

Thanks,

Thanks so much Mike!  I wasn't go to let the Fat Albert failure get to me.  I will be trying it again in the future.  I already have the Caracal decals, and a kit will be arriving Monday.  I know what not to do when I attempt it for the 2nd time.  I also bought a Hornet to build along with it.

You're an inspiration, Keyda. I followed your last Herc to the death throes and then you turn around and build a smaller scale in an even more complicated scheme with an unfamiliar airbrush. You are (a word I don't use often) Awesome!

Thanks goldhammer!  It's the Iwata Eclipse HP-CS.  It's a pricey little airbrush, but with a 40% of coupon at Hobby Lobby it helps, lol.  I probably would have never spent that much on an airbrush for myself.  But hubby checked reviews and everything and picked me one up for Christmas.  I would have never been able to do that camo pattern without it!

Thanks Jay Jay!  I wasn't much for that scale either, unless it was a bigger aircraft(C-5, C-17, B-52) where a 1/72 scale would of taken up far too much space.  But I had yet to add a little Herc to the collection.  I was rather impressed with the kit too.  It even came with the landing lights that go on the outer gear doors!  I don't think my 1/48 scale kit came with those.  I could be wrong cause I put LED's in it anyway.  But it turns out to be a rather nice looking model, and I'm pleased with it.  It's the "baby Herc" in the house, lol.

Nice little build.  You did an exceptional job on the camo.  What Iwata are you using?

Thanks modelcrazy!

Toshi, lol!  Thank you!  It took lots of concentration and paitence.

I had pretty much all day to work on Azrael.  So I finished her up!  I thought it was going to take me longer to get the final assembely done.  Those darn antenna wire were so annoying!  I could of just left them out, but they were on the box art so I wanted them on the plane!  I liked the way it looked.

An airbrush is only as good as the user.  And you did a phenomenal job.  That’s amazing freehand for 1/144!!!!!!!!!!!!  I can’t even get that close.  Wow, and I’m not just saying this to say this!  Wow!

keavdog, Thank you!  I had to be very paitent with it, lol.  It felt like I was hunched over painting for hours!  I had to take my time, and not pull back too much on the trigger.  There was a few spots I did, but it still came out pretty good.  I masked off the camo then painted the black so I didn't screw up somewhere, lol.

lawdog, Thanks!  It is certainly the airbrush to use for detail work.  I will no longer be apprehensive about trying camo patterns!  I thought I could do it with the Passche, but it just didn't get the lines that tight.

Thanks Jay Jay!  There a few spots I got a little too much paint, and had to lightly sand down.

Got the black painted.

It's starting to look the part now.  I'll be working on touch-ups and decals tomorrow.  Should have it all finished up before the weekend is over.

Did one more round of sanding and primer this morning, then gave that a couple hours to sit and dry.

Painted the camo freehand with my Iwata airbrush hubby got me for Christmas.  I love this airbrush.  It works great!  I still might have to touch up a few spots, but I'm happy with the way the camo turned out.  I made some antenna for the top of the plane too.

I'll get to masking and putting the black on in a few hours.
