Looks awesome to me. That canopy masking looks like a bear. 

And I know what you mean trying to repair a paint job and finding that the second coat is sightly different from the first...

Oh and I forgot to mention that I used up the last of one bottle of testors dark earth.  I had to do some touch up work and the new bottle was darker than the original so I freehanded the brown......after I had spent so much time puting all those "worms" on to

Well things are moving on ableit rather slowly.  Had a massive primer failure with Stynylrez and had to re-prime.  Also had a failure of montex masks, but fortuneately I had a backup of EZ masks.  Those didn't seem to fit as well but they did not lift up like the montex masks did.  I suspect that the canopies had too much finger marks on them.  Good fortune that I didn't use my homeshades primer on them because with the amount of bleeding that I had I would have had to order new canopies.  As it was I just had to strip off all the paint and re-mask.  The poor engine fit is well documented and as you can see my putty work needs much improvement.  I did have problems with the landing gear assembly. I could not get it to fit through the lower wing as the instructions say.  I ended up gluing it to the bottom of the wing first and then putting the top wing on.  Needless to say the wings didn't like that arrangement and I had a bugger of a time getting them together.  20/20 hindsight, I think I would not put the engine nacelles on first but put them on after the landing gear is glued on and the wings are together. Had some interesting problems with the tail turret but I want to wait until the end to share those.  I finally bought some alligator clips.  Who knew they could be so handy.  Also discovered that my subtle weathering of the black surfaces using RLM 66 got wiped out by testors gloss coat.  So re-weathered with neutral gray.  Does anyone know if these bombers had much for chipping? I didn't see much on the examples on the net. Well here are some progress or lack there of shots

Thanks guys it’s appreciated.  Karoke...well that explains why the second guy has his hand over his ear on the side toward the back two singers. Also why the pilot is giving a choking gesture and a thumbs up to the second guy for plugging his ear. Makes sense

Looks to me like the crew has got a bit of karaoke going on there!  It looks great!

that's gonna be a big Bird!  I recently finished the Revell of Germany offering in 1/72, and it got a wingspan!  It was the Dambusters version, and I have it in flight, dropping the bouncing bomb on a dam...check it out in the diorama section....

I'll be following along on this build!  Looking good so far!

It's coming along nicely, Robert.  Definitely not in the same league as current Tamiya offerings but I am very glad it's available.  The newest releases have some improved parts, especially around the engines.  Here's a link to a build log for one I built:

Thanks John I actually looked up your work on this one before I started and noticed how the PE added a lot to the model and the better engines helped as well. Not looking forward to that area. I did manage to get my pole dancer glued in the front. I think that will look kinda neat behind the front glass. I just finished gluing those nasty little nose fins on. I’m sure I’ll break them off several times before the end
