It's been a while since the last time I filled one of your builds, Toshi. And now you have an apprentice?
I've missed much!
How the heck are you, my friend?
I’m doing just fantastic! Life is good! How are you my brother? I am so excited to hear from you!!! Recently, Mrs.Toshi‘s Brain started to swell again due to her removal of the tumor. So she is doing chemo therapy now. She has two more sessions and I’m hoping and praying that all goes well. So far everything looks good so I’m very optimistic!
Please take a look and take the time out to visit my and Ezra (My Padwan Learner) thread of the Trumpeter 1/32 TBF Avenger. I feel it came out really good and it got positive reviews from FSM Members. I started to understand the blending of colors and how to handle the AB better. I still go back to the tutorial you did for me on my Abram‘s tank build. The weathering on the Avenger build in my very humble opinion is really getting there. I still need many more years to get to the level of having a build printed in FSM Magazine, but I did send photos in for a chance to have the Avenger posted in the digital FSM Forum‘s Gallery.
As for my apprentice Padwan Learner Ezra, my grandson he started to ask me questions on my finished builds and was intrigued in all of the WWII and jet aircraft hanging on my wall of fame. He’s going to be three years old in July. All he asks is that why, why, and what’s that questions. Lol! He started with hand brush painting, using Tamiya Extra Thin Cement, and now he’s AB with my help. He did build the Torpedo and AB it almost by himself on the Avenger build. That lesson was cut sprue (Yes, he can use my Tamiya cutters), sand, glue, tape with frog tape and Tamiya tape, wait to get glue to cure, sand again, primer, then AB. It came out very nicely. Being only almost three his attention span is short. So we watch cartoons on my iPad while building a kit. It works out really well.
As for myself, I’ve gotten ill a few times but was able to recover. I’m still in therapy and taking pain medication. I’m still in pain but am able to build kits and keep up with my grandson. The shaking of my hands has gone away I think due to building kits. It has helped me greatly. Mrs. Toshi and I try to get out to movies and restraunt dates. We’ve gone out with Ezra out to Ashtabula for visits with Mrs. Toshi’s older sister and have Ezra go exploring the forest and do a little fishing. Trying to get Mrs. Toshi‘s mind off the Chemo Therapy is challenging but can be overcome.
