Started on the paint so I did the wings and the scalloped effect with the help of a paper mask to get a consistent pattern.

Shot the fuselage colors, all free hand with the Badger Sotar  AB set at 8psi and the Model Master RLM colors diluted paint/thinner 40/60. Love how this AB performs. I applied the fuselage crosses prior to painting cause the RLM 83 covers the insides of the crosses.

Thanks guys. Glossed the Kurfürst and started on the decals. Will post pictures once there is some progress.

That's simply wonderful so far. I'm loving that weird scheme.

Thanks John and Mike, yes it has a weird fade line specially towards the rear of the fuselage sides. Looks kind of cool.

Got the decals on the belly tank and the spinner spiral that I took from my spare decal box. Trumpeter doesn’t include the spiral in the kit decals.

Got the bigger decals on. There are still several stencils to be applied.

I carefully sliced off off all the carrier film from the numbers and wing crosses

to avoid slivering.

Nicely done, especially that spinner. Those dang things are hard to get settled in. At least that's what I remember from my G-10.

Thanks Mike. It took several minutes of twisting and pushing it into shape using a wet brush and toothpick. Solvaset did a great job getting rid of any wrinkles.

Been working on the main gears, adding brake lines, washes, and in the process of using wine foil for strapping details. Will have some pictures once some progress is done.

Main gear legs painted RLM02 and washed to pop details. Wine bottle foil cut into thin strips and used for the brake line straps.

Prop blades were painted RLM70, then the spinner and back plate were assembled as shown.

That spinner is really nice PJ.

Its been mentioned already but I had to agree with the other comments.  The spinner is amazing.  I have this kit in the stash and I'm dreading this step.  I may use the Eduard mask and paint.  There's no way mine will look as great as your effort.  The entire build is great.

Thanks for stopping by. Maybe it would have been easier if Trumpeter had included the spiral in their decal sheet. I used a spare one I had from I believe  Eagle  Cals and it almost fit perfectly. You mentioned having this one in your stash so be ware the pit is actually for a G6 or G10. The right side panel is incorrect for the Kurfürst so some modification will improve the looks  otherwise the kit is pretty good.

I have just about all the decals applied on my Kurfürst, lots of tiny ones. Once all  the decals are on, a Flory wash will be applied to pop the recessed details and begin the weathering stage.  I will have some pictures up soon.

This is where I'm at so far. Used Flory dark grime wash to darken the recessed details to start the weathering process. 

The engine needs some touch ups 

The cowl door interior and other parts were painted RLM02 and given an oil paint wash to grime up the areas. More weathering to follow.
