Looking great PJ! excellent prop and spinner. Super mottling and details.
Thanks Chad.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!
That spinner is really nice PJ.

At the plate: 1/48 Airfix Bf109 & 1/35 Tamiya Famo
On deck: Who knows!
Main gear legs painted RLM02 and washed to pop details. Wine bottle foil cut into thin strips and used for the brake line straps.
Prop blades were painted RLM70, then the spinner and back plate were assembled as shown.
Been working on the main gears, adding brake lines, washes, and in the process of using wine foil for strapping details. Will have some pictures once some progress is done.
M. Brindos Nicely done, especially that spinner. Those dang things are hard to get settled in. At least that's what I remember from my G-10.

Thanks Mike. It took several minutes of twisting and pushing it into shape using a wet brush and toothpick. Solvaset did a great job getting rid of any wrinkles.

Thanks John and Mike, yes it has a weird fade line specially towards the rear of the fuselage sides. Looks kind of cool.
Got the decals on the belly tank and the spinner spiral that I took from my spare decal box. Trumpeter doesn’t include the spiral in the kit decals.
Got the bigger decals on. There are still several stencils to be applied.
I carefully sliced off off all the carrier film from the numbers and wing crosses
to avoid slivering.
That's simply wonderful so far. I'm loving that weird scheme.
Looking great
Thanks,
John
Thanks guys. Glossed the Kurfürst and started on the decals. Will post pictures once there is some progress.
Looking great PJ.

Very nice. Great idea using the mask on the wing edges. Nice and consistent scalloped pattern.
Very nice work PJ!

Mopar Madness That's some nice mottling PJ.

Thanks MM.
Shot the fuselage colors, all free hand with the Badger Sotar AB set at 8psi and the Model Master RLM colors diluted paint/thinner 40/60. Love how this AB performs. I applied the fuselage crosses prior to painting cause the RLM 83 covers the insides of the crosses.
Thanks Mike and Pedro.
Fantastic build and kit!
Looking good!!
Mike
Started on the paint so I did the wings and the scalloped effect with the help of a paper mask to get a consistent pattern.
ChemteacherBeautiful work. Enjoying your build.

Dodgy Awsome stuff PJ. The 109 is my favourite wingy thingy and I have a number of kits. I'm just too scared to build any of them because I don't think I will do them justice.

Thanks. Hey just pull one out of the stash and start working on it. You will never learn till you try. Give it a shot.

So I was looking at the ammo shell ejection ports and there is nothing there except two open cavities. I fashioned a jig out of wood coffee stirrers to get the correct dimensions to fabricate the chutes leading to the ejection ports made from wine foil.
I wrapped the wood jig with wine foil and then cut them to size and painted them flat steel.
They were slipped into position and super glued in place.
Once in place the chutes fill in the empty space that was there before.
M. Brindos That's flawless technique on the wing root gaps. Dayum nice work!
