That is one of the most beautiful Mustang/build I've seen. Your painting and attention to details are exceptional and my hat off to you sir.

Thanks cnq-- much appreciated.

Franz Stiegler was one of several Luftwaffe pilots that refused to shoot airmen in chutes. I forget the details but it had to do with the death of his brother.

Beautiful early Mustang, great build and paint.Beer

Thanks plasticjunkie. Much appreciated.

Excellent work on a great kit.  Pretty much renders all other 1/48 P-51 kits obsolete.  Interesting on the issues you had as I didn't experience them with this kit. Peterson was an awesome pilot. I always found that story about him shooting a German pilot in a parachute intriging. Minutes earlier the same pilot was shooting B-17 crew members in their shoots.  Peterson getting payback. There's a great interview with Peterson on the topic out there if your interested.

Thanks Lawdog. I'm sure the issues were self-induced. Peterson's video is what convinced me to do his plane out of the 9 other decal options. Thx.

Absolute beauty right there Hoss! Those decals look great. Can't believe how well you got the nose checker to conform and settle downYes

Thanks Rooster. It took two attempts on the nose checker decals. The decal kit gives you 5. The lesson learned for me was to apply both the left and right halves at the same time so I could adjust the position and alignment.

That Eduard kit is beautiful and you're doing her justice. Happy to see another rendition of it. Your OD Green on top looks great. Very clean looking build. Two thumbs up.

Thanks bvallot. Much appreciated!

Just so it's completely clear, we are looking at a "model", right?

I am having a hard time not seeing the real deal here, Hoss. The illusion is outstanding.

Lol - Thanks Mike!
