Even if it was the Testors goo -which I know I squeezed out before I applied the putty- why did it show up years afterwards? An why does it appear to be coming through the styrene and paint?

I checked today and nothing came out of the hole I drilled last night.

Maybe the ground crew fixed it.

That's what it is... The testors filler does have that watery stuff... had to leak half a tube of that stuff onto a paper towl just to get to the stuff that will fill the gap.Confused [%-)]

It might be mold release agent from the plastic on the inside f the model that has found it's way to a low spot. But I still think it's HauntedWink [;)]

Sounds like a realistic F14 you got there. I under stand all F14's leak. You wonder how they can fly.

It's not water and I don't think oil condensates. When I picked it up a few minutes ago the liquid was on the inside (not internal, but underneath) of the starboard engine nacelle (near the tailhook). There were a few spots in other places but were all in that general area. And as if I wasn't confused already, the drops are just that. Not runs, not wet areas, they are drops of liquid that appear to be coming through the styrene -Like this thing is sweating! (That ought to be good for a few more jokes). I drilled a small hole just before the exaust nozzle and tilted the model. I'll check it tomorrow and see if the hemorrhaging persists.

-and before anyone asks- No. It did not scream when I drilled the hole.

Could it be condensation "induced" drops that gather inside the plane and then leak down?

No idea how I did it Steve, and I hope I never do it again! I just pulled it off the shelf (it's been there since the room remodel) and there is still wet stuff on the bottom but it's not dripping like it used to.

Can't post pics at this time. Wouldn't post this one if I could. God knows what it would do to your PC!

I noticed that I filled the gaps of the landing gear doors, probably with that white filler garbage from Testors. Maybe the stuff broke down? It does kinda look like the goo that first comes out of the tube.

The world may never know.

The sad thing about "The Exorcist" is that it's based on a true story. As for the F-14: I don't know.

I've exorcised a house before. That seemed to work but I have never blessed an F-14 either real or model. Is the stuff ectoplasmic residue? if so, "who you gonna call?" I don't think this is in the same league with statues crying so I'm out of my league here. Unless there is another explanationAlien [alien] Good luck.

Funny book about christ???

It's "The Exorcist" by William Peter Blatty. A great book and a really good movie as well. That line about the power of Christ compelling you was from the exorcisim rite near the end of the movie.

It's only funny in a sick sort of way really, but the quoting of the movie in this context was hillarious. You should also check out Exorcist 3. It was written and directed by Blatty, and has George C Scott in it, giving an excellent performance, Brad Dourif, excellent as usual, and the guy who played the young priest from the first film. It's a very well written and acted movie, and one of the few truly scary horror films.

Maybe you have made the "perfect" model. Please post pictures.
I would prefer "before" (three years ago) to "now" pictures.
Looking forward to your news,

You've got a real stumper there considering how long ago you finished the kit.

I'd agree with Mr. Voss, the only way you'll know for certain is to disect it, as it certainly seems to be an internal problem.

On the other hand, you can just say you were going for the extra realism. I've never seen a Tomcat on the ground that wasn't leaking something.

Maybe it is like in the movie Toy Story or some of the old commercials for , I think Nissan" where Barbie gets picked up by GI Joe leaving Ken in the dust. Does are models come alive when we are not around or could it be Elves taking a break from making shoe and going for test flights?

This could only be solved by Scooby-Doo! Okay now I now I have been watching too much TV with my daughter.

Hey Stoopidfish,
There's no real answer here is there?
Take the thing down from the ceiling and place it on a desk or something for a while, and see if it still leaks.
If it still does, and you can't live with it, just hit it with a hammer.
If if still leaks, just get a bigger hammer.
Works for me every time. Sorts the kids out, too.
Cheers

Before I can solve this mystery I have to ask a few serious questions.

1. When the lights are out in the room does the plane emit any strange light or aura? If yes is it in the blue/green or yellow/red spectrum?

2. When the “leakage” is touched does it have any healing qualities? Does it cure migraines, eliminate arthritis pain, cure baldness or the like?

3. Any sound coming from the aircraft? If so is it a whistling or whirring sound?

4. Has anyone from the National Enquirer stopped by? Are complete strangers being drawn to your home?

Sorry fish couldn’t resist. But my official guess is…time delayed chemical reaction.
