Lend-Lease GB (1/1/09-7/1/09)

Wow, it's been quiet here lately.

 As for myself, I've been workin' on my SU-76M for the Urban Armor GB, hope you guys check out my WIP thread in the armor section. The deadline for that GB is December 31st so I plan to finish up my SU-76 and then get right into this GB, come January 1st.

Hope you finish this GB for 2009 and improve that average of finished GB's.

A okay, just remember if you have any questions about this GB or about your build don't be hesitant to ask. Everyone in this GB is here to help out one another with their build problems and questions.

To be honest guys I'd like to do all of them and I'm scratching my head about it so much I'm getting splinters in my fingers I'll leave this one up and see what the majority say.

I'm partial to the armor, so a Sherman Firefly would be cool, but a P51 Mustang in RAF colors is sweet to, since that's the plane on the aircraft badge. But hey it's your decision, so build whatever you think you'll have the most fun building.

I've been looking around the forums, and have seen a few members have already claimed the badges for this GB. I'm glad people are excited about this GB, and thus are already puttin' the badges in their signature, but........PLEASE refrain from claiming the badge. As it says on the first page, Badge is claimable upon completion of model.

All opinions and comments about the badges are welcome.

Here's an official update on this GB, for all those following this thread and keeping tabs.

First of all, we have 56 days untill January 1st, 2009. Yeah, I know the new year is coming quickly.

Secondly, this GB currently has 23 participants. Spread the word to fellow modellers, because everyone is welcome.

Third, the Lend-Lease GB is now open to ship builds. That means acceptable builds now include ships, armor, aircraft, and artillery. 

Finally, the artillery and ship badges will be uploaded tommorrow.

 The M18 Hellcat was a different vehicle then the M10 Wolverine, and the markings are somewhat similar. But there probably is some differences.

If you do an American paint scheme, the markings would simply look like the ones on these pics below. Hope this helps.

Are you gonna do an American or Soviet paint scheme? If your gonna do a Soviet paint scheme these pics may help.

I've decided to allow in ships, into this GB. So if you wanna build a ship you got in that stash, but was just waiting for the right moment, here's your chance!

All ships are allowed in that were part of the Lend-Lease Act. That means frigates from the Tacoma class, Clemson & Caldwell Class Destroyers, HMS Ameer class escort carriers, sub chasers from the SC-497 Class, and minesweepers from the Admirable class, are all allowed. But the list go's on and on. If your wondering if the ship you want to build was in Lend-Lease ask a question or check out this site, provided by lewbud: http://www.ww2pacific.com/llnames.html
