Hi Phoenix --

So, there was minimal addition? She looks the part, she really does! Actually, I feel up to taking a crack at the gear indicators and brake lines, I'm pretty sure I have the right materials in hand, so I'll do a spot of research and see what I can come up with.

Three-second question, is Tamiya XF-22 an equivalent to RLM 66??? Anybody have a clue?

Cheers,

Mike/TB379

Mike- Tamiya XF-22 is a good match for RLM 02.  Not exactly sure on a good match for RLM 66.  Tamiya XF-63 is a pretty close match.  I usually undercoat with XF-69 NATO Black and then mist on the XF-63.  HTH!

Hi Frank,

Are you positive? I was just looking at a color chart and it looked like XF-24 was the 02 match, XF-22 was given as a very dark gray. It was an old chart, though, and may have been mislabled! Hmmm, the rated Humbrol equivalents are Iron Grey and Tarmac, respectively... I'm looking for an acrylic to save lugging the gear outside to spray enamels. I'll have a chance to look into the LHS on Friday, I can make a comparison on the shelf.

Cheers,

Mike

Thnaks for looking Stan.  The Yellow 1 you mentioned, That's the one on the smae sheet just above isn't it?   Do you have more than 1 set, that was actually my 2nd choice. A bunch to offer in tradeSmile [:)]

Mike,

Pretty sure.  Here's a link to the color charts I use most often from IPMS Stockholm:

Urban's Color Reference Part 1

Urban's Color Reference Part 2

HTH!

Hi Frank --

Many thanks, I'll check 'em out!

I wish I could HTH right now, but I'm using a graphics program to make custom instrument panel decals for the cockpit I've about half-done. If I can get the fuselage closed up the rest of the model will flow along easily, but I've only got a fortnight to go and there's patterning and casting to be done, as well as finishing another major conversion in the same timeframe. Late nights will probably be the rule for the next few weeks...

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks Thad. It's from "The Blonde Knight-Erich Hartman's G-6's"  I was thinking of either of those since my kits only comes with the galland canopy.  At this point any G-6 with that canopy will work.

Wing nut if you not set on building a late G-6 you could also build a G-14.

the top "white 5"  and the very bottom one "yellow 18" are open If you like either one of these. Note that yellow 18 is a late G-14 and has the longer tail wheel and tall wooden tail. Don't know what you kit has with it?

The 1/48 hartmann decals I have would be for the very top option on the eagle sheet. I have a spare standered framed canopy for a hasegawa G if you want to build this. very top.

I also have this. the top 109 is actually flown by a not so well know experten gunther Josten who ended the war with 178 victories. If you like yellow this 109's for you.

The only one not available onthis sheet is "red 13" I did that alreadyBig Smile [:D]

Well I just could not disappoint you Frank so here is some WIP! its not much but its a start! I painted and installed the wing radiators then closed up the wings. Painted the cockpit peices and also removed the resin wheels from the casting and cleaned them up. so it has begun!

Does anyone have these decals in 1/48 that they don't have plans to use?  I would buy the sheet but for 1 set of markings... I have so many 109 sheets but not that one.  It Eagle Cal #36.  I have dozen to offer in trade. E's, F's G's, K's... Europe, desert, Battle of Britain etc.

Marc, I have those on an Aeromaster sheet dedicated to Hartmann (I'll be using the ones for his G-14 in the winter camo). The markings for "white 1" are yours if you still need 'em. Thumbs Up [tup]

SC- That's some damn fine work!  Glad to see you're setting the pace for all of us. Approve [^]

I did a little to mine last night, cleaning up a few parts and going to work on some of them with my motor tool.  Hollowed out the exhausts, thinned the openings in the spinner, and opened up the openings in the gear bays and rudder pedals.

On the spinner, you can see the thinned opening on the right and and un-thinned one on the left.
