I'm good with all those ideas but put me down for "109 Aces" if we're voting.

It sounds like the three most popular ideas are the 262, 109 aces, and foreign 109's.

Shall we narrow it down to those three and have a vote on it?

Foreign 109s -- interesting! I can lay my hands on Romanian, Finnish and Condor Legion markings without going further than my immediate stash. If we go with 190s I got three sheets of Rammjaeger decals a few days ago and scored an A-8 on eBay...

No green yet, been busy -- a thousand appologies for being last in line again!

Well, I broke out the G-10 last night and gave it an oil wash....a little more pleasing to the eye.  Will try to post pics today sometime.

I like the idea of the foreign 109 GB-I still have the decal sheet that would fit perfectly.  Of course, I like the Aces or 190 theme also. 

Well Frank I could always build that Hasegawa 109 G-4 with the Regia Aeronautica markings I scored on eBay back in Feburary.

That looks like quite the addtion Mike!  Be sure to keep us posted on your progress.

There's a lot of great Gb ideas flowing now!  I thought of another one, what about 109's serving under different flags?  Countries like Hungary, Romania, etc.  Perhaps we should keep throwing out the ideas, and when we have a bunch- I can write each one down and put them into a hatand draw the winner.  That makes it fair and un-biased.  Whaddya think?

That addition looks great Mike. I did my share of construction when I was much younger. I never minded the drywall and all of the mess it makes. I always hated doing the insulation. I could never get home fast enough after work to shower and get all of that itchy fiberglass off of me! Good luck finishing it and I hope to have you with us in November.

edit-Mike-great job on the new addition-nice place to work on plastic and keep the cars warm(er) in the winter.

SC, looking to have everything framed up, sheeted, and insulated before the snow flies this year (which can be, and usually is, sometime in late October) and then I can commence on the interior details of the room itself (which will come after the garage area is done). Not looking forward to the drywalling, that's for sure!

Building a 109 sounds like a lot more fun, Frank! (Good to see you too, buddy!)

Here's a few progress pics. The concrete footings go down 4 feet (gets mighty cold up here in winter). All the framing is 2x6. The work area, which will be fully enclosed, vapor-barriered, and insulated, will be a 9x10 area towards the back of the garage on the right (second pic).

Roger that Mike!  I shall keep you up to speed when it's time for part deux.

Mike (2)- Great to see you my friend!  Glad to hear it's something that good which has kept you away.  A new modeling room?  How cool is that?  I also look forward to seeing the pics when it is complete.  And, seeing a 109 from you would be icing on the cake.

Well Mike I guess if you were building a whole new model room that is a good excuse. I bet it is going to be sweet when it is all done. All I have is a table in the corner of my bedroom with a paint rack mounted on the wall behind it. Show us some pics of your new man cave when your done. I would love to see it.Hopefully you will complete it to participate in round two with us.

Hi Frank -- All these ideas sound good to me, I especially like Lufty's. November 1st is fine, I should have two or three other projects off the bench by then. I'll be in for a 109, 190, 262, or a wierdy if we go that way (Me 163, 263, 309, 609, they're all in the stash. I just narrowly missed out on the Me 264, what a monster that would have been...)

PS: Got the rest of the soft masks onto the K-4 yesterday, just need to fabricate the three crossing the midline and I'll be ready to spray the green. Final check, it's the darker shade of 82 and 83?! WIP pics forthcoming shortly.

November 1st is perfect for me Frank. There were so many good ideas given so far but I think your right a Luftwaffe Aces GB would cover almost all of the ideas mentioned here. You could build early late or a jet just has to have markings of a plane used buy a Lufwaffe Ace. Sounds perfect but know I have to figure out which one of the planes I will chose. I definetly am going to have to do at least two or three now. A jet a early ace and a late war ace just to make sure I do'nt miss anything!

Glad to see all of the usual suspects are still here, and some very talented new faces as well!  Does the November 1st start date sound good to people?  That way, we've got some time to finish up other builds and get ready for part deux.

Those are all great ideas. I have a ton of early 109's also. I also have a 1/48 Dragon Fw 190 A-8 in Prillers markings of the 190 he flew over the beaches on D-Day. I also have an old Airfix BV 141 if you want to build the oddball planes. I thiink we might have to take a vote. To many good ideas not enough time to do them all.

Well I have lots of 109's Early and late. And lots of other Freakish things Like the BV 189A and B.

The BV Whats that odd warped looking thing Frank? And then a 262 a couple 1/48 FW-190's not Tamiya ones and Even some of the He 112 and The Sea version of the 109. Then you have the Do 335 versions and Don't get me started on the bombers! Even a couple of the 1946 stuff. Oh the Humanity!

Here's a couple of ideas I've had floating through my head:

1.  "Bf 109, The Early Years", this would cover everything we didn't in this one; the A up to the G-4.

2.  "Luftflotte Ost", this would cover the Luftwaffe and perhaps the other co-belligerents on the Eastern Front (Hungary, Finland, Romania, etc.)

Anyway, if it's Luftwaffe I'm in!

I must be honest, I am quite partial to the 109 so perhaps another 109 GB?  I mean, I like the 190, 262 and the others but there's just something about a 109...

Aaron- Isn't it just like me to corrupt you with 109s?  I have another one inbound to you tomorrow.

SC- You know?  I don't have a Karl in my display case.  I think I should remedy that along with you.

Frank -- I'm with the others on this, anything you line up will be met with glee! I have three Tamiya 262s on the shelf, I've put some extra 109s and 190s in the stash, though late model 190s have been a bit of a pain to get hold of. I'm sure i can come up with a suitable subject for any Reich Defender II you'd like to field!

I got the soft-masks onto the fuselage of my K-4 and have a photo, and I'm hoping to lay the 75 onto the fuselage today. You never know, if I get the bit in my teeth I might try to press on and do the green as well, then I'd be looking at touch-ups as needed and into the final stretch.
