Roy - 13 years is a looong wait, but at least the end result is great!!  Beautiful P-40 and the nose art is unique!  I've never seen that before!  Fantastic build!! Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

BTW, I love your workbench and that paint rack!!

Paul - That is one nice looking F-16!  I'm a treadhead, not a wingie guy, but I

can still appreciate builds like this one! Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

F-16....DONE!

The AIM-9's came from a Revell 1:32nd F-14A....the ones in the kit were absolute rubbish. Markings are from Two Bobs Golden State Griffins sheet. Everything else came right outta the box

13 YEARS??? Wow, I think you win the 'most procrastination' award (which goes along very well with this GB's theme)! Make a Toast [#toast]

Woohoo Roy!!!! Bow [bow]Bow [bow]Bow [bow]  It may take you a long time but it is worth the wait.  I know I've seen it before in various stages but I love that nose art and I know it must not have been easy to get the decal on that.  Congradulations.

WOW, it only took 13 years to finish Mauve's 1/48 P-40N.  I used True Details resin pit, MM enamels and ProModeler wash.  There are alot of things I would do different if I did this one again.  Anyway here it is:

Allrighty thenSmile,Wink, & Grin [swg] I know about the variation in the shades of gray on the radomes. It just looked black in the pic you posted. I know how it can go with photography.

That's not black. Its a custom mixed shade of gunship grey and flat black, closer to a charcoal. The reference photos on the Two Bobs sheet and the stuff I have seen on the web show a similiar radome. Apperently, there isn't a specific color for the F-16 radome, it starts out a dark grey and fades as time goes on.

She's looking pretty good there btp. But, by time CA ARNG got the F-16, I believe they had already switched to the gray radome. The black radome was only on the early F-16As.

almost done.....

Just gotta give her some teeth and load her up, finish some final touches on the weathering. I need to check references for this bird to see if this one had a tinted canopy...if so, I have the Tamiya clear yellow and future standing by!

Paul,

She's looking good so far.  Can't wait to see the decals.

As for the rivet counters, I would ask them to go play somewhere else.  Build what looks good  for you don't build to make them happy.

What's this? An update from Paul? Holy crap!!!!

So, here is the F-16C.....

Here's the cockpit....this photo was taken about 2 and a half years ago!

This is my first attempt at rescribing.

Any rivet counters out there?

This is what the kit looked like for the last 2 years.

This is what the kit looks like as of today! Actually....that isn't quite true. I have a coat of future curing right now....I hope to have decals on it this evening!

Looks good to me except for the second photo where it shows the gap and the decal not being lined up all the way, but you said you were gonna touch it up so I'm sure you already noticed.

Thanks Roy. No, its 1/32. And the rest will be better. This is a trile one. The decal needs touching up and I can do better on the rest............Harv

Harvey, the work you have put into those bombs is off the chart.  That's 1/48 scale right?

I have no progress except for that I'm motivated to finish every time I pass the modeling aisle at Michaels and see the boxes of F-14A's in shrinkwrap.

Roy, I have only completed teh Maquette T-34/76. I don't know whose KV that is. It looks great, and as much as I wish it was mine and in my collection, I think the credit belongs to whomever built it.

Carlos, it's one you built right?

Well my bench is ready to rock.  The basement is still a work in progress as you can make out from the pictures.

Roy, that KV under my name looks great, but I cant claim it. I hope to ahve another kit or two for you on here soon.

And I would like to add a 1/35 Tamiya M113 FSV to my listing. It is way overdue for another long since ended GB so I will finish it up here....Ashamed [*^_^*]

Alright, the roster is updated with the new members along with postings of completed builds.  Some fantastic work on the front page.  If you can review the roster and let me know if I have left anything or anyone out.

Nice 750 pounders Harv! I like the contrast between the fin/tail cone and the warhead part.

As for me, my M12 GMC is nearing completion. I got the tracks on tonite and repaired the latest fiddly bits that seem to keep breaking on me constantly. Almost all base colors are now applied and weathering is about to begin....

Update on the F-105 (be it small) I futured the tail assem on the 750`s to make them look new. (Thats the way they came when I loaded them). Then I tried to brush new yellow bands. I didn`t like the way they came out the first time. Anyway they sucked. So I sanded all of them down, repainted them and used the kit decals for the bands. Well I like it much better, now.Next, the fuses. So heres a couple of pics, enjoy..........Harv

Thanks dupes

Mike, the Tamiya Pz IV H in the pic is the OLD kit, #35054 first released in 1975.  I also have #35209, the Pz. IV H Early that was released in 1994.  I think your J was released about the same time.

The OLD H isn't as nice as the newer H & J, but with some work and AM parts can definitely look the part!  What I REALLY want to try is that new DML Ausf. H Smart Kit!! Approve [^]

Wow, Buff -- that's some recipe for a convincing finish. The exact shade of Russian green has been a bone of contention for a long time, it seems, and when you work with varied shading around a monotone it creates a subtle and very realistic impression. Yes indeed, something tells me those Trumpeter tracks will be my first L&Ls!

I like the looks of the Tamiya IV H with zim -- is this their early kit, somewhere back around 350030? I have -29, their J, essentially the same kit without the skirts, in the Academy issue from the early 90s, and an etched fret of stand off armor for the turret, now all I need is a particular sheet of Echelon decals to get the scheme I want.

Cheers,

Mike
