Well, somebody better do that splinter scheme, cuz now I really wanna see one! Big Smile [:D]

Thanks Dave, glad you liked! Wink [;)]

I got all of the decals on last night, and spent some time tonight trying to get them down into the panel lines.  These Hasegawa decals are THICK!!!  They are mostly down, just a couple of spots left for tomorrow.  Even Mr. Mark Softer and Solvaset barely had any effect on them.

Woo hoo, were in for another treat. Crusher's got a video to come. All this nagging is certainly having an effect. Im surprised that with all these videos and promises of videos, that weve yet to have an appearance from the Bondomeister.

Off to the NMF GB, to pester.

Guy I am just having some fun with you about the splinter scheme.Big Smile [:D] It is to cool to pass up. I would love to see you build one also. I had already decided to change the camo on the CA kit to the mottle and save the splinter one for the Special Hobby kit. Still having trouble with the wing root seams so I layed down some CA over the putty to harden it up andmake it better to rescribe. More sanding and rescribing agian tonight. Painting coming soon though! Video coming soon too!

Guy there is a NMF GB going on right now that the Mustang would fit nicely in. I already completed an Academy 1/48 Hispano Ha-1112 Buchon for this GB. I plan on doing another NMF after I build a couple RA planes. Some good people in there.

Hey, i went over to the Stormo site and look what i found,

.Oh and i saw this pic of a Fiat G.55,

and decided i needed to do one of these. I want to do the 5th one down. Cool camo. Special hobby kit is now winging its way to me, along with a decal sheet. Spontanious? Me?

...Guy

Nice profiles, I may have to do a 202.  I saw that somebody makes a correction set for the PCM in 1/32.  Has new landing gear and other goodies, could possibly be adapted to the 21st CT kit.

Dont let me pressure you out of doing the Splinter, Crusher. If you want to do it its yours, mate.

If you do choose the one in the pics, it does look another corking ANR scheme. You can never have enough ANR's in a GB, I say.

Going on my empty bench next though is going to be Tamiya's New P-51. I need to have a crack at an NMF scheme for a devious plan i have in my head, Muwahahahahaha. Dont worry, hopefully the G.55 will be on straight after the Stang.

I was originally going to paint it in the ANR splinter camo but I think I am going to paint it in the ANR version using the German colors and use the splinter scheme on the Special Hobby kit. I am already feeling the pressure for the video. I guess I better pay my sister a visit and borrow her camera before I get in to much trouble! Here is a pic.

Guy well done on the C205. I am a little suspicious of the looks of that pilot. He looks a little to British to me. I swear you painted him up to look like you. It goes to show you you can take one of these inexpensive kits and by adding a couple of smal details and an good airbrush job they look pretty nice.

I'm glad to see you have follow Sarge and me and decided to have a go at a G 55. To bad you already bought thoses decals I have two sets of the exact markings you just purchased. My Classic Airframes kit came with two decal sheets and that was one of the two options. Just do'nt finish the ANR splinter camo job before me! I can't have you showing me up!

I managed to hit the CA G 55 with the sanding sticks  tonight. This bad boy needs alot of reshaping to smooth it all out. I had to lay more putty down again on the right wing root as there were a couple of ugly spots. The real work is going to be to rework the exhaust area. The kit parts did not even remotely resemble the real thing. I pulled out some exhaust manifolds from a DB605 fron the spares box that were the correct shape and width. Hollowed out the shroud infront of them. Now I am going to scratch build the missing shields that should be on the top and bottom of the manifolds that are completly missing. I plan on useing some scrap PE to get the right scale thickness. The Special Hobby Manifold are completly wrong also so I will have to do it all over again on this kit to. Here is a pic so far

Frank nice video. The steel pot was a nice touch. I was expecting some optivisor footage but thats ok. At least you have pleased Guy. Now he is going to be on my backside until I get mine done!

Man, I thought I could get away with no video, but NO!  Well, it took four cameras to find one with video AND audio on it.  SO, today I make my video debut!  Please everyone, exercise extreme caution when showing this to your ladies, as my uncontrollable magnetism can sway even the most jaded of them.  Or, maybe it's the headgear which they find irresistable? Confused [%-)]  At any rate, here it is...

Wow SC! I guess Guy wants to be in our club with the G 55!  Wait until he finds out there is a 1/32 scale release planned by Special hobby of the G-55.  Although if I could paint like him I'd get loads of those real soldier kits!

Guy you gotta keep me posted on the house move event. I wanna stay current with the addy  in case I need some more of that magic tea!

Well im calling this one Done. After giving the plane 24hrs to go off after futuring the decals, I used Promodellers Dark Dirt for the 1st stage. Then i used Tamiya Black for the exhaust staining. After this I Post shaded here and there with some Tamiya smoke. A little bit of wear was added at the wing roots by drybrushing some Citadel Chainmail, then the whole caboodle was sealed with some Hannants flat, neat from the gun.

I like how this turned out for a super cheap kit. I shall hang it from the roof with pride. The plane is modelled as Major Adriano Visconti's Mount (26 Victories)

Sorry for all the pics, but ive just sold 99% of my old RC stuff in order to buy a Canon Eos 450, and im still playing with it LOL.

Voidses- I really like your paintjob.  What brand/color did you use for the green?

I sprayed some Future on my 109 last night, hope to do some decalling later today. Approve [^]

Sweeet, i see now. It looks very convincing. How did you achieve it? Ive used rolled Blu-tack and tamiya tape in the past, both produce good results.

Soft masks was used to seperate green vs grey on the wing and "elevator thing"Blush [:I]

Here's a pic

As you can see it's a quite hard edge but I like how it looks,it's deffinetley something I will use on my luftwaffe birds.

I'll be sure to post more pics later. Until then, well, later!

Yes, great job Voidses. where did you use the soft masks? I .see only the join between the white stripe and the rest of the green and the join between the upper and lower camo colours. And they appear hard edged LOL. I am a bit slow though and it is early.

My mc202 build is strolling along nicely, the camo is on and looks fine exept a few rough spots that will need a little care. I tried using soft masks first time ever and it turned out great IMO.  Looking forward to see more of all your work everyoneSmile [:)]

Hey ho, everyone. Ive been a busy beever today. As well as looking at a couple of properties, (One of which looks fairly promising) Ive managed to get the decalling done. I managed to find a good supply of that stuff BTW and squirrelled away 4 bottles. They have more which i may go back and have as well.

Frank that 109 is looking great. The mottle on the fuselage side came out perfect. Really looking foward to seeing it with the markings on it.

Guy you have done some nice work on that 205 for not haveing all of your resources at hand. I have alot more work to do before I get to start laying down the camo. I might have to switch this G 55 to the ANR german type camo and build the Special Hobby kit in the ANR splinter camo.

I'm going to go visit my sister to see if I can borrow her video camera for a bit. She only lives about two miles away so I can just run down and pick it up without to much fuss. Then I shall provide all of you with a nice little video of my humble abode and work area. I do'nt know if it will be anywhere near as good as Frank mowing his lawn in his optivisor but I will try to make it interesting. Just be prepared to see one ruggedly hansome fellow in it!

I did not manage to get anything done on the G 55 last night due to feeling crappy. I plan on catching up tonight though.
