SC, that is a honey of a kit. And to have the prancing horse on side. Hubba hubba. Cant wait to see the awesomeness that you can give it.

Great news Guy! I just won a 1/48 Hasegawa Macchi 202 Foglore from over on your side of the pond. I had to pay dearly. GBP 25.26 or 37.03 US dollars! It is a OOP boxing "Cavallino Rampante" The decal sheet is not pictured but it includes markings for the prancing horse unit badge. Now I just have to wait for the Royal Post to deliver it. So put me down for my second build. I hope I have enough time before the GB is over.

Excellent work Frank, It looks like Dove bars are the equivelant of the UK's Magnum bars,

though your pic does look more tempting than mine lol,

Sean, im loving the 'Lufty Groove' the missus says im always scratchin it....err...are we on the same track here?...no matter. You could always do another P-38 in German markings like in the piccy you pm'ed me. And talking of annoying the Sarge? Where the heck is the man. Damn bad show.

Guy -  No not me... I am not building the "Glacier Girl"  Harv had not had his 2nd cup of Coffee when he posted I think..

I just got rid of a P-38 why in the world would I want another Laugh [(-D]  No more Allied builds from me for a while. I need to get back into the "Lufty" groove..

Oh and the roundel I am/was looking for is one with a light blue background and 13mm in diameter.  I have pretty much given up the idea of ever finding a match. I just turned the TBD-1 sideways on the shelf. I just mentioned that to annoy Aaron..Mischief [:-,]

Thanks Guy!  If you are willing to part with them, I would love to have the "Glacier Girl" scripts and serial number decals.  I have a Hasegawa P-38 I would like to model as The Girl after seeing her last year at an airshow. Approve [^]

Dove bars, eh?  They're ice cream treats with a layer of Dove chocolate over premium vanilla ice cream mounted on a paint stirring stick popsicle stick. Big Smile [:D]

Frank, ill probably use most of the other decals (Stars and bars and stencils) but if you want them, your more than welcome to the 'Glacier Girl' decals.

Sean, so your building Glacier girl as well Whistling [:-^]...And what roundels are you on about?

Heres a question to all you Americans. My lovely lady Geri, wants to know what 'Dove bars' are. She read in a book someone in the States talking about them. Shes nagging the crap out of me to ask. Cheers.

Well Shooter, you have me intrigued. Good luck on the bidding.

SC, shes gorgeous mate. Tulips and spiral decals. My hats off to you Sir. Bow [bow]

Talking of decals ive been at it today. I had to raid the spares box to model the subject i wanted. My problem was that I didnt have the top wing decal. I had plenty of the underside decal with the white but not the top. Off to my model shop. I just needed anything that was Italian around the right size. A Macchi 202 caught my eye, so i had to have it. Also, with my thoughts of an Italianised P38,

Also with thoughts of an Italianised P51 (This 1 from the stash),

Anyhoo, on with the Dewoitine. I was shocked with the decals from the Kit. Ltd's decals are fantastic, as good as any from Cartograph or similar. Also Hasagawa decals (From the 202) sometimes get knocked for being a little on the thick side. Here are the wing decals after a drop of Mr Setter and softer,

Not bad eh? The rest of the planes decals went on reasonably. I say reasonably as the bottom decals wrinkled awfully. Hopefully theyll sort themselves out,

Ill give em all a couple more hours then hit it all with some more future ready for the weathering. Woo hoo.

Well Guy sorry to say my eBay account name bears absolutly no resemblance to my screen name here. I would tell you but I do not want tempt anyone else to bid on it as it is a hard one to find right now. I am sure you will be delighted when you see what it is. I just hope the Royal Post gets it over to me as fast as possible if I win it. The D520 is looking great by the way. That is a tricky camo job to paint and it looks like you nailed it.

Can't say I do, Guy, but if I did it'd probably cost you that much to get it across the pond. Hey, aren't motocycles supposed to be fun? Is that legal over there?Wink [;)]

Glad yo ulike the spinner pics, sorry it took so long!

Hmmm... tulip decals... sounds like my next project. Mischief [:-,]

Great looking progress Guy!  You never cease to amaze with your building speed and quality. Thumbs Up [tup]

Speaking of bikes, I sure do hope to get mine out soon!  If we could just get a good rain or two to wash all of the recent salt off of the roads.

Good golly! I am still piddling away on a Ventura that will never end and your almost done with another!  Excellent  build as I have done that limited run kit and the fit is tough and yet you make it look easy. Absolutely beautiful job on the painting there ol' boy! One of these days I shall figure out your mystical secrets! Bow [bow]

I have been told that the R-1 has a different power distribution than other bikes. Almost a direct feed and takes some getting used too. I saw an experienced biker stall one in the lot twice before he shot off into oblivian!   I think the R-6 is more your speed for the style  you do.  I mean what do I know?  Get an R1 and let me know.

OOh Crusher you have my interest, interested. What could it be? Im off in a mo to trawl Ebay looking for a winning bidder called Soulcrusher LOL.

Shooter, im so familiar with the funk you talk of. Dont worry, the bench calls us all back eventually. Bike riding you say? You dont know of a 2nd hand R1 for around 2K do ya?

Anyhoo, ive decided to crack on with the Dewoitine. Theres only so many times you can filler, sand, rescribe, filler, sand, rescribe, filler....you get the gist. So it was on with the paint. Its quite a tricky scheme these frenchies use on thier planes but heres my efforts so far.

Ive allready Italianised the plane with the wing stripes and fuz band and given the plane a coat of future. More soon.

I'm in a bit of a modeling funk at the moment. I have the first base color coat on but have stalled. Better weather and motorcycle riding has put a dent in the bench time.

Wow Frank my long awaited spinner pics! Looks great.

Guy is'nt one of the requirements for this GB that you have no shame?

My Fokker os moving at a snail pace right now so I went looking for a specific kit that I have wanted that would fit perfectly for this GB. The only one I could find is on eBay. It is also over on Guy's side of the pond. I put a bid in and I hope to win it.it might take a week or so to make it over here but its worth waiting for. If I win it I'm in for a second entry Guy! I will know Sunday afternoon. Whish me luck!

Looking good Frank. those spinner spirals give me the same eeby geebies as Tulip decals...geez there you go, you made me say it. Now im going to be shaking all morning. Not what you need when your mission for the morning is to repair a biplane that was knocked off a shelf, along with another, by 'Noone' apparantly!! Censored [censored]

Even though one of these spinners is for the G-10 I am building for the "Bf-109: Reich Defender" GB (shameless plug! Big Smile [:D]), I thought I would post the photo here.  I added the spiral decal last night, and painted the prop blades.  Hope to have the spinner all assembled in the next few days! Big Smile [:D]
