Sorry I have bben neglecting my duties here!  Great work all round!  Guy your an animal!  That  Colorful Sea plane is wonderful!

Mucker that 1/72 202 is as good as it gets!  Your gonna make Dave Jealous!

Sean the Cant is looking spectacular!  Glad to see it back on the bench!

I updated Page one with Guy's completed DE 520 and muckers 202. Have I missed any other completed builds?  I see many great in progress stuff but I am thinking those are the only new done deals for now?

Sean, that is a beauty for sure. Isnt that the same kit that i have yet to build, mmmmm, maybe. I think mine looks similar but has a conventional tail. There were a few that looked fairly similar.

Bondo, thx for the approval Sir. I hope you dont get me swabbing the deck for keeping stuff from you. The green i used was XF-26 Deep green. As for the toot, im flattered that youd like me to do one. The floater is so nearly done, if it wasnt for watching 'Medium' now, id probably be finishing it off. After the floaters done, ill do one for your delectation by all means.

Sean, what a unique build that is! THere is something about those Italian tri-engines that is both awkward, yet visually pleasing at the same time. i don't know how else to put it! Well done so far...definatley not one you see on the average shelf

Most impressive, Guy. But what is that Tamiya Green you used for the national markings? Cleverly turned so we can't read it! Meant to ask you earlier as I'd like to do the same. A tutorial sometime on your wood technique would be a good thing, too.

Ciao, and "Mamma, Aiuto"!

mucker -  Wow ~wee that is one fine 202. I have a 205 that I have the same decals for. Someday I might get around to finishing it.

Dave - Here are a few pics as Promised. Only have the one side decalled. I have better luck doing one side then sealing it with"dull coat" before I do the other. Less decals get wrecked that way from touching them by mistake.

Looking great there mucker. Those Mike Grant decals really bring the whole thing together. I am still pluging away at my own 1/48 Hasegawa 202.  I would not have known it was 1/72 scale if you had not said so. Well done.

Charles, that is stunning work, and in braille scale too. There is no way id have said that was 1/72 unless you'd have said. The Mike Grant decals only Ice the cherry.

Stunning, my friend.

Wow...I'm away a few weeks and look at all the nice work that's been done! You guys are amazing! I can't believe your pace, too.

I finally was able to finsh the tiny little 1/72 Tamoya MC.202 my son bought me for Christmas. My first 1/72...these things are small! It was also my first Italian aircraft. I kind of like the color schemes the Italians had. I'm sure there will be more Italian birds in my future.

Decent little kit, but I have nothing to compare it to so I'll say it posed no major issues. The smoke rings are from Mr. Grant (nice stuff...thin yet strong and mold nicely with a little Micro Set/Sol.

The weathering looks a tad heavy in the pics, but is much more subtle to the eye.

Thanks for looking.

Well I put some sanding sticks to my seams and found all of my ugly spots thanks to the old primer coat. I have them all smoothed out and puttied two small spots I did not like. I should be abble to do the final body work and primer the airframe again by tomorrow. I want to get it preshaded tomorrow also so I can start painting. Now I just have to find some more pics of this early three color camo found on this particular 202. I only have a couple of BW photos that are not to good to go by. Apparenty only the first batch of 202's received this camo so pics are hard to come by.

Wow Guy! Nice job getting published. I can always say I knew you back when before you were famous! I hear say that once the picture is actually published a little monetary consideration will be sent your way.  That means more money to add more kits to the stash! Lets see you could add a nice Re 2000 2001 or 2005 to you Italian collection. Well done!Bow [bow]

Well I'm finally back online. Lousy internet provider took three days to come out and repair the bad connection up on the pole. Banged Head [banghead]! I has to read back about a page to get up to speed here. It looks like bondman and Guy have been very busy while I was offline. I have been making good progress on my 202. I have the whole thing assembled and ready for a primer coat to spot all of the areas that need more attention. The wings gave me a little bit of trouble and I had to spend a little time cleaning up the seam though no filler was needed just some sanding. I plugged up the antenna hole with a piece of streched sprue and I need to sand it flush and redrill a hole for the stub antenna a little furthur back of the fuselage. Here is a pic of where I am so far.

Yes, 02 for the pit and greenie-gray for the rest. Your superb seaplane harks back to that other great (one of many) industrial design triumphs of the Italians- speedboats!

She looks a stunner. So what are you saying then? 02 for the pit and the Hempy buff greyeysandy sorta thing......Clear as mud LOL.

The only thing id change would be the propellor blades. Either Black-green or black. The hempy colour doesnt quite sit with me. LOL

Guy- here were my research results from the Weekend Maniacs, er, Madness GB. The SOP for this model is to use RLM 02 on the exterior, and RLM 66 on the cockpit, but Israeli sources tied to their IAF museum now identify a more greenish exterior, and RLM 02 for all interiors, so I went with that. RAF Buff and Hemp were reccomended, but I thought Buff was too brown and could not find Hemp. I tried Tamiya IJN Aircraft Grey which at first seemed a good match, but on the model was too blue. So I mixed IJN Grey and RAF Buff 75/25 and I'm really pleased with the results.

I managed to get a fair bit done today (Day off).I masked up the nose deck area and sprayed it with my wonder alluminium, then I got the Linen colour on the wings and then coated them with Tamiya Clear. That stuff is great as it goes off rock hard in under an hour. It went off so quick i was able to decal them as well. The register of the roundels was a little off, with them being slightly see through. Aah well you cant win em all. LOL. Heres where it is so far,

More soon, but there are still a thousand minute strut thingy doo dads that need cleaning up and squirting.
