Hi Randy,

I was hoping carry-overs to round 2 would be okay -- my F-84 is back at the top of the stack again after I got two armour builds done with. I have a few planes to give some TLC in the weeks ahead, and that should be one of them.

For NMF II I have a ProMod F-86D, and I'm thinking about a C-97 cargo plane in 1:144.

Cheers, M/TB379

Ditto

Randy, i am glad you got me to participate. Building shiny planes is amongst the things in modeling i like to do most and each and every time i visit the LHS there's always attention for anything that would be eligible for "the group".Wink

Back to back mustangs is fine, but I wouldn't recommend doing 9 at the same time.

Today I added a second shade of aluminum on my Thunderjet on selected panels. I masked off more panels to do a third shade for tomorrow. I will roll my F-84 over to the NMF Pt II Group Build since this one is over and I am still chugging along. I will post pics tomorrow or Sunday at the latest.Cool

1005, a good number...

I am done painting the NMF. I used three different shades of Aluminum. Humbrol overall first, a nice weathered dull dark shade, then I masked off and used Tamiya, a much brighter shade on the center of the wings, stabilizers, tail, and some select panes on the front and rear fuselage. Then I used Testors small bottle, a shade in between the two, on the elevators, ailerons, drop tank pylons, rudder, and two panels on the nose. The effect I was trying for was like the old Chromed Hawk kits I used to build. The effect did not photograph well, but is quite visible in person.

To tell you the truth Stik, as long as there is some differential in the overall look of the model if I was a judge and not monochromatic, it would surely score points with me!!! You have done that very well!!!! ToastYes
