Ron: Those are amazing details. Paint them and I think they'll look ready for a test drive.

As for me, I tried weathering my M-51 and probably went overdoing it. Now it looks like a "sunburned" M-51 or an "oven-toasted" M-51, LOL. Do you think those tanks ever get sunburned? He-he-he. Anyway... have a lot of thinking to do and probably will repaint it tonight. Actually it looked good on the table this morning, quite matches the eggs and the coffee. LOL.

Looks good Ron!

Keep going. Just as sure as you don't put it in, somebody will be able to notice it's missing! Even if they don't......You'll wake up in the middle of the night screaming "I left it out!"......"I left it out!"Tongue [:P]

Everybody else's Sherman is looking great to. Keep it up.

2nd day of fighting with the periscope shields. Knocked back bloody and burned.... been trying to sodder the wire frame work. This has its own nightmarish quality. Fire and Mike, not a soul band, but a pretty good episode of America's Funniest Home Videos. I must be working for the Axis on this one.
Any ideas guy? This is getting frustrating. All I want to do is come up with the wire brush guards that go over the crew persiscopes on the hatches. So far I have made about 10 of the little frames but the uprights are killing me. I have tried just about every combination to achieve the finished result and still come up bupkiss. Either the sodder melts (not big enough to attach a heat sync) or I end up with what looks like "bubble gum" welds.

This isn't the stage of a build but a frelling quest now! (Thanks to Farscape for a new vernacular)

I'm gonna take the next month off, and tell my boss I have a note from Robert excusing me on grounds of Shermanosity. (I think if I do that, I'll have a lot more than a month off. Tongue [:P])

Dwight- Yours is looking good and in such a short time.

Ron- I'm impressed, but doesn't all that detail fall under "Details only God will see" lol

I spent most of the afternoon and night assembling and painting (during the Superbowl) my crew which are a mix of Verlinden and Jaguar resin figures. I hope to have some new pictures for you this weekend.
Trevor Where am I going and why am I in this handbasket?

Ron - Coming along nicely, great work on the interior so far. This is the first time I've seen the Verlinden radial. When i built my interior, I used Tank Workshop's ... what's your thoughts on it ????

Larry - a month is a long time ..... as long as you stay home from work to complete the Sherman.

Man oh Manishevitz! Ron that thing looks like you can actually drive it if you send Stuart Little in! That kind of detail is about what I expect from your stuff though.

Dwight, yet another very impressive build. (Sorry if I missed anyone -- I only went back a page or two).

Meanwhile I am still mired in my sausage wagon. Sad [:(] This will give me only about a month -- or less -- for my Sherman, which is going to need a lot of work to convert it to an early M4. What will Robert say? [:0].

Well, at least I'll finish the gun build on time. Famous last words.

After a nice weekend it's great to come back and see so many excellent builds in progress! The BARV, Kangaroo and Ishermans look great... as to any I forgot to mention.
I've posted some pix at http://rongeorge.com/modules/Gallery/upload?page=10
BUT as i've said, I can't load them onto the thread... can't call up the URLAngry [:(!] Maybe some kind soul could help me out on that!
Anyhoo, the gray/green castings are Verlinden resin and the white ones are mine from masters I made and RTV / Resin castings. It really is easier than making them from scratch every build. I've been dry-fitting the interior parts prior to painting and cementing them in place.
I didn't take any photos, but I'm also working on the turret and turret basket.

T'sall for now,

RonBig Smile [:D]

PS I've been to CA and had a great time there. Only met one woman who was outragously paranoid... plus a few nuts in SF...

Nice job, Dwight. I wish I was as far along. I can't seem to get off the running gear of this Firefly! (Hmm, or is it the Panther, or maybe the Tiger, or maybe the 1/72 King!!!) lol.

Beans got the Firefly VC at P780. A little more than the usual Dragon kits but I didn't mind. It was the last box in the shop (LIL's Glorietta) that day. But I saw 2 boxes left at Megamall branch of LIL's.

Don't have much info on the M4A2 yet.

Good luck and don't resist the Darkside. Resistance is futile. He-he-he.

Beans, just get one already. At P495 it is rather cheap. And I assure you the details are great.

Thanks for the compliments even if my Shermie is far from complete.

I'm actually thinking about it, I'm choosing from Trumpeter's JS3 'Stalin' and that Sherman, now I'm leaning more on the Shermie,

...Ok , I'll get it as soon as the budget allows, the lure of the Darkside is beggining to take over me aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!Big Smile [:D]Smile [:)]Cool [8D] I'm also looking forward to Academy's and Dragon's release of the M4A2, hope they come out soon here. How's the Firefly, retail price?Lucky youSmile [:)]

I painted my tracks with the base coat (gunmetal). Taking the vinyl longer to dry than expected. Then switched to a ship for the rest of the weekend. (hey I can't just drop them, they're still in my blood).

I'm sorry bro, but just where is that located. lol

In the 10+ yrs I've been driving "big trucks" I've been to CA once. Sept 1993. And I swore I'd NEVER go back. And I haven't either.

Wow Dwight,

That looks really sharp. Very dynamic photo too.

I've made the classic mistake of getting bogged down with the details. I guess I have my work cut out for me. I must have spent an 30 minutes working on that little antena assembly tonight. Spent way too much time on the persiscope guards as well. I need to learn to move on.....

Everyone is doing a great job.

Thanks Shermie, I knew I could count on you - looks like I'll be painting a base coat on the hull tonight (probably will just uncover some areas that need more work).
