Well I'm into the last weathering stage on the Achilles. I plan to put the Achilles on a small dio base when I get some decent figures to go with it. Bad news is my camera still has not come back from the repairer and it won't be back til after Easter.
I went to my parents for dinner last night, and took my memory stick over so I could email myself the older pics by using their equipment. These were progress shots I took to post on my web site and to check out seam lines, etc.
The interior has since received chipping and more drybrushing, and also the 17 pounder shells have been added. (M1 this pic shows the lights drilled out and filled with epoxy like I mentioned elsewhere).
The turret shot shows the usual outside stowage made from tissue, as well as the extra detail on the gun mechanism. I have added the range stakes bag and the binocular case. The other side has a scratch built quadrant and sight cases. The kit's spent shell guard is completely wrong and had to be replaced. Also the incorrect recessed .50 cal mount has been filled ready for the scratch built one that has since been added to the turret rear.been
The rear view shows the home made fire extinquishers and medical box that Academy don't provide and also the corrected positioning of the tools. One of the home made 17 pounder rounds is being used to hold up the spare road wheel - check out the sink holes that had to be filled in that wheel! This is indicative of the quality of moulding on most of the kit sprues. The other thing on the ground is the folded signal flags for inside the turret.
