Just ordered my Crusader AA from Netmerchants.co.uk, should be here tomorrow Yeah!! [yeah].

I've only done one 1/48 scale so I'm looking forward to starting this one.

Here are some better pictures;

For some reason Digital cameras always go gonzo with reds, so these are cleaned up.

Enjoy!

Hi Hans....you are in, thanks for joining. Is this the Wirbel you are building for your Spitfire vs. Whirbelwind dio?

No, new build, this one's still in the box... I haven't got  dio idea yet.. BUT.. It'll come.. I'm kinda in the mood to build a bridge and the Wirbelwind might be just the ticket, since they did a lot of key bridge defense..

What a beautiful build, I haven't forgot, been busy with dr's and had to hire a Lawyer. pay into socical security all your life and when you need it you have to hire a Lawyer to get your benifits, any how I got a litttle done. once I get the tracks done she should finish up quick. i understand they are makeing Friulmodel tracks soon, I have to build 3 total for diorama. but here is progress, with eduard pe also.

If I may, I would like to join the ranks!

I just picked up the Dragon 88mm Flak 37 (mit behelfslafette)---I dont even know what that last part means---

I will tryto get done within the time constraints, but there are, I think, 387 million parts to this kit, including the photo etchand the turned aluminum barrels...looks like a challenge!

Hi Justinryan215 and wellcome to club Sign - Welcome [#welcome]. I have added you to the list.

As for my build, it will be a loooong and sloooow progres. Milions of pieces, holly Censored [censored], now I koow what they mean by "detailed engine compartment"...yay!! And then there are the individual track links, small pieces and soooo many of them... plus photo etched parts...what did I get myself into Sigh [sigh]. OK, it is not hat bad, the most chalenging builds by far.

Cheers all....

 Mind if I join in on this GB, with a Dragon 2cm Flak 38 in 1/35 scale(6288)? After a couple of forced landings from a couple of aircraft builds that didn't work out as planned, I'm thinking this would be just the ticket to get the workbench moving again.

 Thanks,

I finally got some pictures of progress...and last night,I made a bit more progress as well.  I am currently on step nine of 16, and the gun itself is finished...I just have to finish the base and the details...

Guys, all of your progress is looking great so far...keep on rolling!

I have officiallycompleted construction on my 88mm Flak 37!  I have begun the refinshing, using an etching primer over the whole thing, to ensure that the paint will stick to the aluminum gun barrel.  I will hopefully get some time tomorrow to get the paint on as well as some photos...

Jim & Justin,

Nice progress so far.

I decided to add some PE to this build.

Slow progress but the cab is close.

Here are a few pictures:

Enjoy,

Morning all

I've finally made a start on my Crusader Mk III, this is the first 1/48 kit I've built for a while so it's a nice change.

First up the box:

And the bits inside :

I was wondering why this kit cost just as much as the some of the larger Tamiya kits even though its a smaller scale, but after seeing the die cast hull I understand why.

The first few steps deal with the rear hull, wheels and tracks, I'm going to leave the wheels and tracks untill the end. The tracks themselves are the link and length type.

Here's the hull with the front and end plates attached:

Thats all for now

Mark, looks like a fun project.

Jim, keep up the good work PE aint all that bad, just take your time and don't rush it.

Now for an update on the "Maultier".

Progress has been slow.

I have been using the dremel to currect the road wheels (what a pain in the a**!).

Here are some pictures;

Whipping this "Mule" into shape!

Man this thing is crude!!!!

Here are the road wheels after paint;

On to the cargo bed.

All of the fittings get replaced with PE, so I had to carve off the molded on ones.

Then I had to restore the "wood grain" texture.

On the inside, was a collection of ejector pin marks on all of the rivet strips.

So those needed to be replaced from scratch.

Here are a couple more views.

Finally few free moments to catch up with the builds. Great progress everyone...and here is my humble model so far. The tracks have been mounted, it was quite a chalenge. It was only my second Magic Track, first was on the Elefant where the pieces are much bigger.

I like the tracks on the right side better, on the left side, above the second wheel it looks like the track is bending up rather then down. Few paint tach ups are needed here and there....overall, I am happy with it.

The project is on hold from now on. The rear right fender was quite deformed and when I tried to shape it under hot water (as per suggestions from the Armor forum) I ruined it totally. So I contacted Dragon and Squadron to see if I can get new parts but it is too early to hear from them. If it is too expensive or the parts are not available, then I'll finish it as much as possible.

That's all for now.

Cheers....
