Hey

     Trabi

I can only speak for this Group Build, and crossovers with other GB's are allowed. Need to check with the head of your other GB to know if they allow it though.

See ya

Here is kit #1 for this GB.  It's an Eastern Europe old kit of the the Mig I-270.  That was the Russian development from the Me 163 Komet.  Both prototypes were lost but it gave the Russians valuable information in thier other jet programs.

As you can see there is not much to this kit.  Really soft plastic with lots of flash and heavy sprue attachement points.  But it looked cool and cost me 5 bucks on ebay.  I really had to squeeze the fuselage halves together and it still left gaps.  Zap a Gap and putty will follow.

Sherman1111 Yeah that PE can be a real pain but its worth it in the end I think, although not one of the things I truly like working with. My fingers hate small parts ya know. The Tunguska is really looking good.

Kermit what a sweet lil build Big Smile [:D]. The weathering is great not over done and not under done, sweet is all I can say. As for complaints well I do have one, why did you cut off part of the tail in the last picture ????? Very well done my friend and you finished 2 in one day too thats impressive.

Sherman, Really coming along nicely there. Haven't had that much experience with PE myself but i know it sure can be fiddly. Looking forward to the finished resultThumbs Up [tup]

Ummm... I am a bit surprised myself but my Mig 21 is all finished and doneSmile,Wink, & Grin [swg]. Without any doubt my fastest build ever. Almost everything on this model was aluminum so i basically only had to assemble and paint without too much fuss. Nice and straightforward.

This kit is one of RoG's newer molds (stamped 2005) and they are a world of difference compared to some of the older ones. Combine this with an extensive decalsheet and you got yourself a fun and value for money modelWink [;)] (cost me $14)

Used Revell enamel aluminum paint and revell acrylics combined with my tamiya weathering set and some chalks for dirtying it a bit up, not too much.

But judge for yourself:

Thanks for looking and hope you like my work,

Richard

And hello againWink [;)]

Wanted to show you guys todays work...Had quite some time to work so im practically done with assembly, just needs some putty here and there and the masked canopy and my little Mig21 will be ready for a coat of aluminumSmile [:)]

Btw: thats a US penny you see for referenceSmile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Great looking armor builds boys!Thumbs Up [tup]. Would scare any pilot awayWink [;)]

Randy,

If you like this in the NMF corner as crossover i would be more than happy to oblige buddy. Consider it done! Think i will revert to my trusty revell paints though... No foiling this timeSmile [:)]

Time for a little update on a tiny pit... (did i say tiny? Make that minisculeSmile,Wink, & Grin [swg])

Managed to get at least 9 different colors on that little surface including the drybrushing... Plus i experimented on a little thing i saw Randy and other modelers doing to a panel using a drop of future for the dials... Turned out pretty neat imho...

A 1:72 midget Mig21 puts your feet back on the ground after working on a 1:48 scale C47, i can tell you that lmao.

(HUGE EVIL GRIN) do I see foil in your future ??? Big Smile [:D] Hey I like your idea for the slideshow in your sig well done.

Ok, talked to my other half too and made her pick the one i was going to do. Showed her the Frogfoot, the Mig and a FW190 i never got around to start on and she chose the Mig as wellSmile [:)]

So The Revell 1/72 Mig 21 it is... Lets get started right away, shall weWink [;)]

The boxart:

Sprues and clearparts:

And a quite extensive decalsheet for Eastern German, a bunch of finnish and a soviet Mig:

Guess the Mig21 needs no introduction as we all know its familiar shape and appearance. A thing some of you might not know is that this particular jet is the single most produced one in the world after WW2. Designed in the fifties it still saw combat action as late as 1999 (!)

Oh, and Randy, it will be NMF...Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Anyways, looking forward to make a nice start on it and see you guys soonWink [;)]Thumbs Up [tup]

Richard

Hey

     Richard

How about a MiG-21? SubRevolution is doing a SU-25 already not that someone else cannot do the same. But we don't have a MiG-21 on the list yet. Just my My 2 cents [2c].

And love the banner!!! How do you do that?

Scott,

Thank you for your comment. It was a fun build to do. Your T62 is coming along great and i think that your added texture will look great once it is painted and weathered upThumbs Up [tup]. Hats off for some nice scratching/ bashing thereWink [;)]

Hey

     All

Here is my first WIP pic for my Tamiya T-62A.  I decide to try duplicating the cast texture on the turret. And after some trial and error found that by stripling Squadron Green putty on then grinding it down with a bit in my Dremel I got a decent (not great) approximation. I am also replacing the kit grab handles with ones made for brass rod. So anyway here is the pic:

Any suggestions for improvement, please feel free.

Randy, Thanks my friend. You will find it is sometimes a welcome deviation to build a tank inbetween as you can build and glue without painting for most of the time. It relaxes me when i dont feel like painting and cleaning my airbrushWink [;)]

This tank cost me around 20 hours to build (a weeks worth of evening building time). Alot shorter than most of my aircraft. And ofcourse i used my trusty watercolors, tamiya weathering set and chalk pigments for the weathering. Wanted a rusty tank....

Kermit WOW! I like this "Kermified" tank ! Your washes really made the detail pop and the weathering isnt over done at all, I find most tanks over done. I really like how the rivets came out and the tracks too. Very well done. I have never done a tank before and have thought of doing a Sherman in 1/48 might have to really give it some thought now. Ya dun good my friend.

Oh hey my son in law is starting to build too !! Cant wait to see what he does.

Ok, done the weathering and fitting of the tracks, as well as the decalling. Considered a mud coat for a minute but i like it the way it turned out like it isWink [;)]

Behold, trumpeters 1/35 KV-2:

And for the peeps who have never seen my models yet: I always include a sepia tone for creating a bit of a moodSmile [:)]:

Hello

       All

Sorry, have been away so long. Family, school and such, you know. Anyway, I have updated the badge on the main post to hopefully fit in with your other badges. If it still seems to big feel free to reduce the size or let me know and I'll do it.

Decided I need to get on this right away as I noticed that Kermit (Richard) and Konigwolf13 (Andrew) are moving along at a good pace. And those builds are looking AWESOME, guys.

Remember, once your done feel free to grab and add the badge.

See ya

Kermit, yes shes the dragon kit

Well have been working alot on the girl, almost all being the tracks. I must of fudged something somewhere as I had to insert an extra link on one side for it to join, otherwise this has been a very enjoyable build. Only have to do all the small pieces then choose what paint scheme to.
