Very nice! I cannot work with something that small, i envy those that can.

I might have updates of the 109 2.0 this weekend. All my wip pics will be mostely of everything before painting, my camera does not take close up pics so cockpit shots are out of the question.

Aaron, she's looking good mate!!!Toast Have you found any fit issues with that kit??? I have the same one, and their D.VII.

Shortly after posting this I broke off the top wing, broke the left strut and crushed the center struts while trying to get the center struts to stay connected to the fuselage (they were hovering a hair above). Of course the real problem was holding the wing down and trying to open a paint bottle, a man has got to know his limitations Stick out tongue

I've almost got it back to where it is in the photo, just need to be more careful. Up until now there have been no real issues, the DR1 even has a moderately detailed interior. I've also built the DVII which hs a much more spartan interior. The two areas that were a little tricky on both have been the center struts, and the landing gear (I am assuming this one will also be a little fiddly). The center struts on both seemed to be a hair shorter than they should be, and you need to be very careful where you locate the landing gear. On the DVII I set it too far back because I misidentified the attachment points, I could vey easily see myself doing the same on this kit if I had not already dealt with it on the DVII.

I've built several of the Revell kits, and have some Eduard, and Roden kits as well. I think the Revell kits are very competitive with the others, a little less detail, and fewer decal options but also about 2/3 the price and less fiddly. Sitting on the shelf they are all nice little models.

The tan Albatross is Roden, the rest are Revell, I did the DH2 a few years ago (a horrible choice for a first biplane kit btw Dead ), the rest I did late last year / early this year.

B17Pilot,

Excellent job in showing the kit who has the bigger brain pan. Propeller Not to mention opposable thumbs. Yes. That is a well done Cub sir.

Aaronw,

That is one tiny plane in that scale.  I've got a couple in 1/48 and they are plenty wee.  I'm liking what I'm seeing.  That darker red is fantastic!!!

Cheers

I'm waiting on some wire to rig my aircraft and this one started calling me so...

1/72 Revell Fokker DR1 with decals for Manfred von Richthofen's last plane.

I found that current thoughts for the color is a darker red than the red traditionally shown (and used on the box art), so I used Model Master Anti-fouling Red, a nice dark brownish red / maroon.

Thanks ya'll!  She looks good next to her cousin, the L-4 (Piper Cub in military service).  Though I did find out that the L-4 is not 1/48 has advertised when I bought it, turns out its more like 1/50, has she is smaller than the J-3.

Good job on the Seafox Aaron!

It may have fought you, but the Cub looks nice so I'd say you beat it. Big Smile

Personally I find the cruder kits offer me more of a sense of accomplishment when done, the finished model may not technically be as good as others I've built, but I know I had to work harder to make it presentable.

Well after the 15th round with no winner, I got the decision.  I have finished the Cub.  Even in the end the little Cub put up a fight.  The flat went on after a final coat of future andstill the registration number silvered.  Guess I shouldn't have put the flat coat on, wouldn't have silvered.

Ain't no contest winner, but still looks good

Really was a poor fitting kit.  The windshield cracked somewhere after I masked it.  Found that out after removing them.

I finally got some more work done on the Seafox. The decals gave me a little trouble due to age, but they all eventually cooperated.

Hey everyone! nice wip pics, I am getting work done on the 109, but my laptop took a crap on me and I wont be uploading pics to my parents comp so until mine is fixed you'll have to wait for pics. Nothing really different than the first time though.

Update on my little Piper Cub.  This was suppose to be a simple, relaxing build, but instead its becoming a PITA.  After it put up a fight, I finally won and got yellow on it.

". . .Stephen, are you going to join in with the Fokker? I was mostly out of town for the last weeks of May and first week of June so didn't get to your post. Knowing the rate you build you may be nearly done by now.  Smile . . ."

Thanks Aaron,  But I am upto my eyeballs with kit reviews. . .which has me doing more writing  than actually building.  But, Eduard seems keen on me doing their Alb. D.III (Oeffag).

Eduard Model Accessories's - 8242 Albatros D.III OEFFAG 253. series 1/48 - July 2010 release!!!

Ok, I went through to update the first page, I got the Junkers added to the completed section. If I've missed anyone who has finished or wants to join in let me know if I've missed you.

At the end of the war the allies wanted every example of the Fokker D.VII  they could lay their hands on.  The plants building them were the parent company of Fokker at Schwerin, also under license by OAW (East German Albatros Works)at Schneidemuhl, Albatros Works at Johannistahl and Ungarische Allgemeine Machinenfabrik A G (MÁG). Here Eduard gives us the latter.

Konigwolf,

Isn't it amazing? Just when you think you've gotten everything ready to paint, you get the color on and there it is.  Big as day.  A spot that just has to be filled.  And no filler.  I feel your pain.

This is coming along beautifully.  The amount of detail is stunning.

Cheers

Well got some more build time in on this girl, going well mostley, dial up warning ahead.

Cockpit filled over ready for paint, The fuselage went to gether without alot of fuss no filler and lightish sanding.

Going for the bismark build so under colour right up the side.

Paint showed that I needed to resand some

Main gear on

Wings fitted together and test fitted. On the top mid area the blocks in the wing folds are to small so will need putty, but cant get any till Friday :( oh well still lots of other stuff to do.
