Pepper I wish more wifes, girlfriends or partners were like yours. My girlfriend doesn't understand why I have this hobby, at least with not living together she isn't on my case about it. Though she did like the 32nd scale Tiger Moth I made as part of her birthday present (she been for a pleasure flight in one the year before we met and I made her a model of the one she flew in).
An old collegue at a railway museum I used to volunteer at came up with a memorable (if slightly inappropriate) comment once - we were standing on a summers afternoon watching an 1879 locomotive we had spent the last couple of weeks repainting being pulled out of its shed gleaming like a new pin, generally admiring our handywork when he turned to those present and said "women are very much like steam engines, they look good, smell good, cost you an arm and a leg, frequently cause you pain and you always want a go on someone elses..." How his wife put up with him I'll never know!
Anyways, an update on builds, the LA-11 is nearing completion and I shall be mightily glad when its finished. There is only so much polishing a turd that you can do. All it needs is decals onto the gloss coat when its set, then satin coat, glue on the remaining transparencies and peel off the parafilm on the canopy.
Also completed a couple of Italeri 'alto zero' M7B1s'. One is going on ebay and the other has been done as a Korean war one.
Stik, for my need entry into the group build can you put me down for a Hasegawa Damiler MK2 armoured car and a Damiler Dingo, both in 1/72nd. Ive already got the armoured car into primer, it just flew together in an hour, sheer joy after the LA-11!
