Unusual Pint scheme? I am intrigued

''Tis a secret until painted ...

Here are the first pictures ... the first, a picture of the box (well duh !!) ...

The second, the contents - manufacturers certainly package kits better these days than in the past ...

I have the cockpit, such as it is, finished and should have the rest of the kit (and all the little parts painted) complete today ... will have to hold off painting until the weather warms a bit ... 21F as I type right now !! ...

Hey pepper, are you loading your gb badges into every message you write?

No ... am I s'posed to ?? ... I forget most of the time ... I was trying to see if I could get them centered, hence a TEST post ...

P'haps the best way to do them is with an animated gif. ... then, there'd be but one image in a message ... or better yet, just one block of spsce, filled with images displayed randomly ...

I'm too cold to think right now ... we're s'posed to have a warming trend in the next few days - highs to be all the way up to 30 ...

Yep - right now, I've got to run uptown and I just checked the temp - 25 ... we also have a 20 mph wind blowing, so of course, it feels colder than 25 ...

Man, I sure miss San Diego ... though, it does get every bit as cold and every bit as hot there as it does here, but ... not for extended periods of time ... the 1st year I was here, we had 53 straight days over 100 ... last year, we had 12 straight days under 20 ... of course, it could be worse and we could have 20' of snow, like my Montana cousins have, but then again, i don't live in Montana and I'm a San Diego boy, born and raised ...Cool ...

I surely do miss the beaches and the mountains ... where I live now, you can look out the window and see all the way to tomorrow :-) ... flat doesn't begin to describe it ...

Oh well, I could be living in the Rust Belt or somesuch, so I'll take northeast Texas, cold and all ...

pepper

BTW, my Tigercat is almost finished sans paint ... don't think my wife would like me spray painting on the kitchen table ...Big Smile

lol yeah, eating paint isnt exactly my idea of fun. Im quite hapy where i am. Winter is usually pretty mild. summers about the same. We get out extremes, but it didnt snow this year, which is a bonus lol.

I grew up right around where you're living - specifically the little nub of Dallas that sticks up between Richardson, Plano and Carrolton. I miss it in a sentimental sense, I guess, but definitely prefer Austin to Dallas.

It's been cold here, too, but not AS cold. I think we're supposed to get into the low 40s today!

Heya, Dean - glad we're not there and wish I weren't here :-) ... as my Old Man sez, 'it's colder than a nun's buns' - that's the polite version ...

Still and all, when one has gotten used to weeks of 100+ degree days, anything under 60 starts to feel a wee bit chilly ...

So the conclusion is everybodys cold but me? lol.

I have a question for you guys today. I came up with a name for my racer and im trying to come up with a scheme to match. Im thinking "Badger Bait" Paint im thinking of is black spinner (im going to make a larger spinner for it like rare bear has) White nose area, then black areas around some eye decals with a shark tooth decal under the chin. What do you guys think? Any suggestions? My other thoughts were "Bamboo Bandit" or "xióng māo" (translates to "bear cat" which is what the Chinese call the panda)

Well. my bearcat is going back into the pile for a while. im waiting for the decal bonder to show up at the LHS and im itching to start my 32nd stang. So bearcat takes a back seat for a while. Hopefully in the next couple weeks ill be able to pull it out and continue with it.

The scheme.

Name: Bamboo Bandit.

Colour: Black and white (like a panda)

Markings: Shark mouth decals. Number 19. Name Written like bamboo under "Eyes". Eyes on cowling.

This will all have to wait until i get the decal bond, and i get the motivation to continue with it.

Hi Scorp ;

Is it okay if I change kits from what I was going to originally build ?

I did nominate Hasegawa's combo kit of the F9F-8 Couger and F11F tiger , however I would like to build the 1/72 Monogram F7F Tigercat , with Cobra Co. resin F7F-3N cockpit set , Quickboost engine nacelles and Starfighter decals .

My kit came from ebay and unfortunatly is missing one of the tail planes . I have some spare tail planes from a Academy B-17 kit , which I thought I would use to make two replacement tail planes using the original one as a template .

Is it okay if this is a cross over build with the Korean War GB ?
