Your plane is coming along really well.  I like it.  :)

I think next month I will have more time to do a model.  Better yet I have several kits to add as time allows.   A Russian night fighter, Pe-3 Bis, French night fighter, Potez 631, Japanese night fighter, J1N1 Gekko, German, He 219, and an English Hurricane.  I had already finished the mosquito night fighter and a couple of widows.

I recently picked up the Cyber Hobby F6F-5N Hellcat Night Fighter kit ;

I like the option of the folded wings .

Hopfully I can complete at least one of my on-going Night Fighter builds in the not too distant future .

That Hellcat is a nice plane.  Wish they had it in 48th scale. 

I'm still searching for other night fighters.  Trying to create all known night fighters used in WW2 in 48th scale.  Seems there were quite a few so I have to break them down by country.  The U.S., I know had at least three designated during the war.  The P-70, P-61, and that F6F.  Others were borrowed from other countries such as the mosquito and beaufighter..  The P38M came too late from my view so I didn't count it.

Ok; I'm calling this bird done. Great kit, would really like to do a Dragon again soon. I used a mix of Flory light and dark dirt wash to really grubby up the plane. It also caked nicely around the window frames to give a really weathered look.

Great looking nightfighter casper! i've always wanted to build a 110 in that scheme with the NJG badge. yours looks real good. Did you get that faded look from the washes or airbrush?

Hey Nathan,  I mixed up some of my Flory black and light gray pro modeller washes. I then applied very liberally and streaked front to back with a large flat brush, making sure it all deposited in the panel lines. I didn't want to remove too much as I wanted the plane to have a slightly semi-gloss but dirty look.

This thing is huge, it dwarves the Phantom II! Is this the largest single person plane produced?

I got the Eduard interior coloured PE, the Aires cockpit set and Eduard white metal landing gear. I don't think I'll build the Hummer that came in the box.

I'm glad I didn't hack away everything that Aires said to on the resin tub instructions!

I would have lost the whole top of the area behind the seat where the canopy latches on.

I was careful to examine the fit before I cut away any styrene. As it happens there is a slight gap but it is easily repairable.

Have I mentioned how much I hate cutting resin cockpits away from their casting blocks!

Caspar, the 110 came out great!  You did a great job, inside and out.  I updated the front page a couple of days ago, but everytime I wanted to post here, something came up.  I put it next to your Sea Venom.  Already a good start on the Nighthawk.  That Aires cockpit looks like it has a lot of detail.

I apologize for not being very active on here lately.  At my work, I was transferred to the EMS division, so now I have to go through 6 months of paramedic school.  It is much more time consuming than I thought.  I might have to shelve the Meteor for a little while in favor of a simpler build.

Great stuff still going on here!  I like the suggestions to extend the GB.  I have a bunch of kits in the stash I still want to get to.

Great job on the 110 Casper ,the black finish is a hard one to pull off and you did it justice!

Not a lot of parts in this kit but a lot of plastic!

As usual the Tamiya quality is great to work with. No flashing, everything fits. All the parts have been cut off the sprues, just need painting putting together. It's a relatively simple kit but will look great with the right amount of detailing.

I wish more kits joined top to bottom instead of left to right. The F-16 kits do it, right?! It wouldn't be hard to do with a lot of planes, just hide the join along panel lines. It would eliminate the need for seems down the middle of the fuselage.

I've been testing the Flory pro modeller wash to see what type of highlights I can get on a semi-gloss black finish. As the wash is dark gray and not black I figure it should make a subtle impact to the panel lines.

The panel wash is on the bomb bay door on the right. Apart from the gloss and naturally occurring highlights I think you can see a difference. As the whole plane is covered in panels I think this should break up the monotonous surface and create a lot of depth on the model.

I'll see how it goes over a larger surface area.

Even though this kit came molded in black styrene, it does not truly begin to look awesome until the semi-gloss black coat goes on over the primer.

Okey dokey, I can almost see the end of this bird.

Decalling done, just need to finish off the gunsight, wash the panel lines, detail the undercarriage with a light oil wash and finish the canopy.

Ok, she's done. Another Lockheed of the assembly floor. I really love their designs. I've done the F-104, SR-71, F-16J and now the F-117A. I'm doing the F-35B next.

I am just amazed by the shape of this thing. It's like a spacecraft.

BTW, have you read Ben Rich's autobiography, part of which focuses on the development of this aircraft? He was Kelly Johnson's chief thermodynamicist on the SR-71 project, then headed the Skunk Works after Kelly retired. The F-117 was Rich's most notable achievement as head of that group, and I found it interesting reading.
