Waikong, that is one nice front office!  Very realistic looking.

I am going on vacation (holiday for those of you down under) for a couple of weeks, so I apologize in advance for any slow page updates.

Cheers,

Greg

painting almost done. Just need to mask off and do the exhaust areas underneath. Did the silver paneling in Alclad Aluminum and it came up well.

She also stands well on her landing gear. No weighting necessary for the nose.

Cheers

Painting is all done;

Rear exhaust area is all done. I did several different coloured panels for the Alclad aluminum. I used Alclad jet exhaust for the exhaust cans and Alclad Magnesium for the ribbing under the rear wings.

I think the gloss spray did something to the Alclad on some parts. I may just respray a bit more.

Cockpit all good and canopies needs just a little bit of touching up/cleaning;

Cheers

Gregbbear

Hi Guys, here is a small update on the Airfix B-57.  I have the wings done as far as I can, until I get my painting area up and running.  Should be tomorrow.  That will also help the Corsair towards the finish line too.

In the pictures, I have the flaps still in pieces for ease of painting.  I also haven't secured the pieces for the floor of the wheel wells for same reason.  I have some plumbing that runs over the floor inserts that I can paint seperately.  Before paint, everything lines up really well.  Unlike the main gear bays, the nose wheel bay actually has some nice detail.

WOW Greg , That's some mighty impressive scratch building with those wing flaps on the Airfix Canberra Bow Down

I copied those pic's into the computer for reference as I have a couple of the Airfix kits myself .

The boxing for the gear wells is excellent as well .

Casper's massive F-4 Phantom is looking great , nice work on the camo scheme Yes

The cockpit detail on the other builds is just amazing , the dials , switches and Knobs look very realalistic Toast

Great stuff everyone .

John .

Decaling all done. These decals were actually pretty good. my last Tamiya decals (Spitfire Mk.VIII 1/32) were far from ok.

Cheers

Ejector seats finally done. I might go for resin next time. The PE belts are extremely fiddly.

Here's a comparison shot with an F4-N in 1/48. The phantom in 1/48 is still quite a big model, almost the size of BF109s or a Spit in 1/32.

Cheers

Here's my entry simulatenous with the That's Amore GB.  It's Cr.42 LW Falco - Italeri 1/48 kits - in Luftwaffe markings.  Admittedly not as cool as the all black scheme that was posted earlier.

I have more finished and midbuild pictures here http://waihobbies.wkhc.net/models/cr42_Falco/cr42lw.html

Nice job on the Me 262.  :)

Dude, I like your Fiat CR 42.  You did a great job on it.  I know because that kit is not an easy kit to work with and what you did on your plane looks great.  :)

You know, I put this picture as my screen saver at work and many people believe it was the real plane.  Perhaps should have put this as a representative picture of my plane at the beginning of the thread.   Hmmmm...     :)

Thanks night fighter.

I'm very interested in how your Pe3 build will go. I have a version of that kit, and had thought about selling it - the stash is just getting too big.  Not too much stuff you can find on the web regarding this kit.  But I'm still on the fence, maybe your build wlll tip the balance.

Well this has been the longest build I've done in a while and certainly has been the most fun. The engineering on this kit was amazing and allowed the details to speak for themselves.

Now where am I going to put this thing.....Huh?

Cheers

Just to get a sense of the epic size of this beast, here is a shot of the 1/32 Phantom alongside a 1/32 Spit and 1/32 Sea venom.

Whoa!  A lot happened while I was on vacation!  Not so sure on the sit "update"..???.... but, I did update the front page here (I hope that is what I did).

Regardless, some cool happenings!  Caspar's Phantom is awesome!  You might have to add some reinforcements to your display shelf with that monster on there.  Congrats on hitting 5 "kills"!

Speaking of aces, glad to see Trey is back for number 8.  The Moskito looks like a good kit.

Waikong, another really nice Italian "Job"!  I love those RA subjects!

NFN, that Pe-3 looks to be a really interesting choice.  Very cool!  I also added your cool widow pic to the front page.

Last, but certainly not least, Italian Starfighter, your Me 262 is amazing!  If I didn't know better, I would think you were photoshopping pictures of a real 262!  Everything is just so spot on, the wheel bays to the mottle camo.

As for me, I started plugging away on the Canberra again.  The Corsair is on hold till I get a chance to paint the prop, and the bombs.  As an added build, I am going to build a Fujimi A-6B "Iron Hand" Intruder.  Back to the Canberra....  I put the wings together, realized the exhaust is sorely lacking.  I tapered some tubing, and made a flame holder insert.  I still need to taper the exhaust cowling some, but it is looking much better than stock.  Thanks to Helo's nav light remarks, I realized this thing is missing them, so I used the wing from an Italeri as a pattern, and I started hacking away.  The wings still need a lot of work even when I finish that.  Rescribing, flap bays and more.

Cheers,

Greg
