I'd like to apologize to my recipient for any amateurish packaging and/or card (which I custom made instead of leaving it to the professionals, and therefore did poorly).  On the other hand, I think you'll find the contents very much to your liking.  Hope, anyway. :)

[UPDATE: Santa informs me the package is now about 4/5ths of the way to its recipient.  Woot!]

All I have to do is a card of some sort, and It will be sent out. Should be out Monday at latest.

Man, I hope whoever's not acknowledged our organizer's emails has sent out their packages.  It'd totally suck to leave people hanging. :(

Yeah it would suck.  Even worse if that person received their Secret Santa gift, but hadn't sent theirs.  I have one person who has not acknowledged the email.  Hopefully, to avoid being left on Santa's "naughty list" they will let me know that they have their gift en-route to their receptitant.

On another note, my gift is being sent off this morning {as soon as I get off of the computer}.

Gift has been acquired, well, one for XXXXXX as well as one for myself.  I just couldn't resist!  Time now for some wrapping and sending off.  Christmas is getting closer!

The budget office released the funds - so it is shopping I go tonight!

By the way, there are a few who have not yet responded back to me that you received the email about your receptitant.  PLEASE reply back to that email and/or the email that I will send you later this evening.

For those of you that have responded back, you won't be getting this email.....

I managed to get my parcel shipped out a couple days ago, just didn't get near the comp to send this message. The Postie assured me it would get there in time but I looked at a map and that place it's going to is a looooong way from here. But then, I don't get out much. Now the waiting begins.

Well, I've now shipped off my package, so see my new signature :)

btw, I discovered you can manually resize the pics appearing down there with a double click and dragging the grabber-point thingies till you get the dimensions you want.  Also, you can set maximum height/width when placing said pics somewhere.

Well, first of all, here's the latest update to the badge:

*cue ScorpioMikey 'how'd you do that?' facial expression*

I think you'll agree the 'stamp' motif suits our shipping packages back and forth thing rather well.  Also, I managed to get the year in there too.

As for adding badges, just to to 'edit your profile' on the right side of the FSM site when you're signed in, and paste it in there under the 'signature' section.  Important note: you have to have the image hosted someplace else on the internet, like a flickr or photobucket account, because FSM won't let you directly past pictures to posts.  I guess they just don't want to be the modeling world's file server.

In other news I'm scheduled to ship off my gift this weekend and it should therefore arrive with plenty of time to spare.

Okay here's a dumb question.  How do you get the badge in your signature?

One other minor suggestion.  Why don't you put the year at the top corner?

Badges are usually awarded to people when they complete their build for a GB, but I'm not sure if that'll be the case here.  MPH34 might decide that completing the gift exchange may simply be enough.  Can we get a ruling (or consensus/feedback from everybody) on what should be done?

BGuy - Thank you for your work on the badges.  You can post the badge for this group build after you have sent your package to your victim I mean receptiant.

I need to up date my photobucket account, get my past badges back.

Picked up a kit today. Now I just got to wrap 'er up, scribble a quick note to (insert your name here) and go visit the Postie. And they had 2 of these there so I scooped them both figuring I might build the other myself. Someday. After I get through all the others kits stuffed in the hall closets. Whistling

Looks lots better.  Much easier to read.  I love A Christmas Story but the first one just looks better.  Since this is my first Group Build here.  May I ask what we are going to do with the badges?

BGuy

Okay, second gen badges are now online.  Thanks for the glow outline advice.  That and some tweaking has led to some improvements.:

I like the classic one on the left best.  You have a goof font.  But the white makes it kind of busy.  Try using a white outline with alternating red and green text, then if you have the filters, use a gradient glow around the letters in a soft gold (I do a lot of graphics designs.).

Well.  Mine's in the mail but my Wife forgot to wrap it before she put it in the mailer box so whoever get's mine DO NOT OPEN the package until Xmas... LOL  I hope they like it anyways.  I tried to pick something which wasn't too common.

Rich Sensale

What I have done is put my daughter 'in charge' of the package when it arrives.  One year she had to wrap it before it was put under the tree.  I find that it adds to the anticipation more because I know I have the gift, but I don't know size, weight, sender, etc. until Christmas morning.

Oh, and we don't have a GB badge yet, do we?

Feedback, please.  I'm a fan of the "Christmas Story" pic, but also like the classic imagry.  Anybody want certain colours, fonts etc.? Let me know what you're hoping for this xmas and I'll see if Santa has something like that in his bag.

I like either one - the Christmas Story one is a little freaky (but funny).  Thanks for putting these together as I don't have the ability to do this.

I have no problem with people using either one.

Got my guy something really nice (I hope) picked out, and its in the process of being packed and wrapped up. It'll get done asap along with this year's xmas cards, etc..  Oh--should our cards be unsealed so we know who sent us the kit we're to put under the tree or should we envelop them for secrecy?

BGuy

 BGuy:

 Scorpiomikey:

im quite excited about this.

As usual, dude, your picture's facial expression conveys exactly what you're saying. Stick out tongue

Other situations that match Scorpiomikey's facial expression:

"I'm doing my taxes"

"I'm building another limited run kit"

"What do these DVD player instructions say?"

"Oh man, I need a bathroom RIGHT now!"

"I got *who* for the secret santa this year??"

See? No matter what the circumstance, Scorpio's got it covered!

Matt--thanks for organizing the GB, I know how much effort it takes and we all really appreciate the work.

Lol, niceley put.

Id make a correction tho. Its not "im doing my taxes" its "you do what with taxes now?" I still dont get why you have to do your own taxes.
