I know this is a stupid question but how do I capture the badge for this or any other GB?  Also, I just picked up a Polar Lights kit of Robby the Robot and its matching PE set so can I include this in my HOLLYWOOD(LAND) entry?

ah... well. construction has begun on the Black Interceptor.... first... the usual box shot with sprue shots... [:550:0]

as of now... the running gear is attached along with the exhaust, minus the pipes..

this will be my 2nd build of this car, but not of this Co.  The first build I did was a few years ago, and it was a Planet X , all resin version... If anyone wants to see it.. just holler.. I'll scrounge a pic...

I'll be watching this one.I have a few good exterior refernce photos of a replica if you'd like.

TD... that is sweet ..!!  I also have that version in Resin from Monsters in Motion..the closest I ever came to spending $229. on a kit...

I'll post pics of em both later on.. I also have the Knight Rider's car, and Max's Yellow interceptor..

Ohhhhhh the Intercepter is awesome P-38!!! Now I want one!

a little progress on my F9F today. I drybrushed the instruemnt panel and cockpit side consoles to highlight  raised details. Tomorrow I plan on adding clear glue drops for each instrument dial glass face.

Are movie character figures a go in this GB?

Hey gang,

 I've been quiet in this GB because I eventually decided that it bothered me for not finding a 70 Charger to model the Fast and Furious car with. The front grill surround bumper is distinctive and although I thought to scratchbuild it I finally decided NO.

BUT, I just happen to have something that fits the GB so without further ado I introduce the resin kit of Darth Vader's X-1 TIE fighter.

Here's the stock kit interior panels before and after some cleanup, minor modifications and some paint.

Next up are some lighting features and then detailing the Darth figure.

I'm a major Star Wars geek as well.I'll be watching this.

Hot glue.....unorthodox...but effective!

Can I join this build? Not sure yet what I'll make but have several ideas brewing.

The cockpit is now all done and ready for installation...oh boy!

And here is my figure that I will be entering as well. The package labels him as German Grenadier Stalingrad... but he bears a most striking resemblance to Cpl Kruger of Cross of Iron.  So that who he is gonna be. Figure in 1/35 resin by Warriors.

SP: Nice work on the cockpit and I love the figure. Haven't seen 'Cross of Iron' in years, looked at the DVD on Amazon but it was more expensive than I really wanted to pay.

I cleaned up the figure castings and then sunk a couple of feature lights into Darth's chestbox. Also spent a fair amount of time on the head/helmet especially to make it both smoother and crisper. Two castings for it came in the box and you can see how the "raw" one compares to the one in primer now.

The rear bulkhead some ready made spots for more lights so holes were drilled, aluminum tubing cut and the ends turned over so that they snug up over the dome of the LED.

Well, color the Buchon dead, killed by a cat... Heard a crash in the war room, and went in to discover that the wife's cat had flipped it off the bench and it didn't survive.. Not that it matters, since it had been chewing on the tail for a bit before it knocked it off anyway...

Back to the Drawing Board (well, back to the stash anyway..)

Minor progress on my F9F today. I added a layer of birdshot to the nose interior to make sure the nose is heavy enough...

 Since we're going for the inside of the upper hatch to be visible and operable, the upper view-ports are now opened up. Since I'll be laying in acetate for the "windows" they need a channel to snuggle up in. To that end I carved a channel around each window.

And a "collar" is being fashioned from a spray can lid to bridge from the upper cockpit ball into the interior.

Since the cockpit will be lit and to help locate the hatch within it's new collar a sleeve/lip was built.

Right now he only has the faint odor of drying enamel paint... But he is waterproof...

Q-Tips came in very handy with this project.Sped things up nicely.

Bring on those Panzer IV's!

Starting on the lighting. First up was a flip-flop flasher on the rear wall. The red pair and green pair of LEDs flash alternately. I never timed it right to capture the green side alone with the camera though?

I must admit that I am very happy with how the seams in the front of the hull cleaned up.

LOL.. Yupper.. How much ya wanna bet that there's at least TWO people who'll read this exchange and ask themselves, WTF are Stik and Hammer talking about? Smells bad?? Waterproof???

Incredible work on Vader.. I half-expected to see actor Dave Prowse's horn-rimmed glasses under the lens' of Vader's face-mask... They show up, brielfy, in the movie just as Vader raises his head and looks over his shoulder in the direction of his wingman's exploding TIE Fighter and says "WHAT!?", after the Falcon has shot down his wingman... The red lights illuminate his eyes and glasses perfectlyin that shot....They "fixed" it after they started doing the digital FX and CGI stuff..

But... Don't look for it in the VHS 1st re-release, re-release boxed-set, re-re-releases boxed-set "Gold Edition" or the DVDs.  It's only on the original VHS release, when Vader's face is first revealed (Actor Sebastian Shaw, the "Face of Vader" appears at the end with Yoda and Kenobi as an old man, which is how he should have appeared, since Yoda and Kenobi didn't get younger after their deaths... However, Shaw died in 1994 way before they could re-shoot Vader's funeral-pyre scene on Endor...
