I have a 3 kit box from italeri about 50 years of "frecce tricolori" included the sabre (i think was the dehavilland canada version) .

Actually too busy on lots of projects but an acrobatic team GB was a good thing.

No hurry, i can place these details after finishing the sue body.

ps : i realize it only after i did it .. fortunately the fron canopy was not ruined, a moment of insanity.

ps2: thanx for paint tips collected here, again i don't know as the exocet is on the behind, where the rocket engine is placed..

ps3: the box included the sabre, the g-91 and the latest mb-339... and no one of the kit is from italeri, is just a rebox with good decals, the sabre is the good academy kit without bad academy decals

the under wing flag of "frecce tricolori" scheme is on the decals sheet.

I started the sabre as OOB but i take no pictures till now.

I am getting a little bit done, able to move the figurs enough to use the PE cutters. But its slow going.

Those missiles are looking nioce, i always hate paintng large areas with white.

i hate to paint white but with sure was impossible to avoid

Nice progress Azorean, i see you needed to fill some fuselage parts out of seams.

I finished main painting session, second thinned layer of blue gray was enough

Lots of retouches needed but the main work is done.

Next step retouches on white , first weathering layer before decals and landing gear detailing.

used the 77 for the ble-gray and 147 on the white 

some day ago i breaked the little light on the top of vertical rudder, but as i see on lots of pictures sue used in Argentina don't have it

the little silver stripe on radome back will performed after the plane is finished, for some reason the silver i use never dry

bsyamato, did you dry brush the panel lines?

yess i did , it's a usual step for me.  After decals , panel washing, i'll put more dry brushing with same colors and a strike of withe for general desaturation

Grea work!! you are working fast guys! I still haven´t started to fill and sand my poor SUE! I hope Today at least I can putty it.

Azorean, your project look really good, I hope as you that the sanding part is done (I hate filling and sanding LOL), if you want yo an use a silver paint before you prime the model to check for imperfections is realy useful!

Bsyamato, the paint looks great! I´m looking now for a lateral view of the seat as you asked, sorry for the lateness.

I also will put some views of the exocet pylon because the one in the box is complety wrong!

I started to put decals on my sue, used a mix of airfix and academy sheet. Both sheet put on some problem.

Missing again some number to place on, i need to find on my decals storage

The clear gloss layer is really thinned, just to do some help for decals adhesion, need another to seal it and as base for panel washing. Hope to not lost too many panels, was really fine

so on with latest updates on the sue ? not

triyng to fix the decals not found a good 4 to complete the fuselage numbering airix decals , so i decided to remove the airfix decals and use the academy .. and when removing i removed a part of paint revealing the plastic under , fortunately the ruined area was little.

After paint recovery , new thinned clear layer and fixed up new decals this the result

the underside "4" from an a-4 esci decals sheet (i don't have a-4 kits from esci.... how this sheet is in my decals magazine?)

not in pictures but also adapted the exocet launch pilon from the airfix kit (the academy included only the tanks and matra pilons ) and drilled the booster on the exocet.

Maybe, maybe not. Dupes is up there ahead of us. The SuE  is looking fine. Nice job on the decals, I always watch for that. Straight.

But, I'm back from vacation, where I read the Massie book "Castles of Steel" about the naval aspect of WW1. Subject of another thread, I guess.

Here's progress on the Pucara. As soon as the paint sets up I'll smooth it down with 2000 grit, gloss coat and do the decals.

EDIT: those steps on either side of the canopy are really unacceptable. VANCE BEWARE.

Maybe the very last thing I will do is pop it back off- it's held on with Elmers- and make a couple of spreaders out of clear rod inside to get it to fit.

Carmel California. It's abt 125 miles south of here. We are buying a fixer-upper that needs a lot of work, but it'll be our vacation house. I'm a gardener, an electrician, a painter and a scullery maid on my days off.

Ye, i have heard of Carmel. Isn't that where Clint Eastwood ran for office, can't remember if he got in. Or am i thinking of somewhere else.

He produced his first movie ( as a money guy)- "Play Misty For me" there. He was Mayor for a short term. Owns a restaurant called the "Hogs Breath Inn" where they display his serape and hat from the "Fist Full of Dollars" days for tourists.

He has a nice place called the Mission Ranch just down the hill from our house. I don't know him, but we are regulars at the Ranch and they make a great cocktail, the Manhattan Makers Mark "Perfect Gentleman" for me when I walk in.

But on a serious note, Ms. Bondo was born and raised there. We were married at the Mission. Our ties to the community include personal friendships with five generations of Italian farmers and fishermen, including the Panettas. Leon is a friend of mine.

It is probably one of the most beautiful places on our coast.

When I get the house set up, I'm going to move my collection down there.

I thought that was the place. I am a big fan of Clints movies, he is without a doubt my favorite actor. Your a damn lucky guy, and that certainly looks a lovely place.

you're right Bondoman ,out of other works needed on the sue, when i'm near to finish a kit i feel panic to not forget something

More i see pucara progress and more i want one for me!

Is the airfix pucara better than the special hobby kit? (or is the same reboxed?)
