Rob- Thanks buddy! Beer

Stik- Yup, I am still planning another build for your Korea GB.  I am leaning toward M8 Greyhound because I need a break from indy tracks and I want to build something American. Big Smile  I will not start until my Pz III GB is officially over.  I hope to build two for this GB... wish me luck with my snail pace. LOL

Carl- What I can say?  Your Panzer is so beautiful... like the wood handles and block.  Good control of dark washes... sometimes it is easy to overdo it.

Andy ,Rob and Stik thanks for the comments guys .Yes

Andy , luckily i hadnt glued the tracks in place yet .

Rob , i'm using chalks a lot now .  they have really improved my weathering results imo .

Stik , i saw War of the Worlds sittng in the back seat of my parents car at a drive in theatre . I was about 8 or 9 . I've got the new version , to me its not to bad , except for the parts where Dakota Fanning is screaming ............Stick out tongue .

Thank you PW. I should be able to get my Mk III completed this weeekend. Today I am taking a break from the workbench and tomorrow is AMPS chapter meeting... so in order to not create too much domestic upheaval I'll spend time with the family today...Wink

Shell. I am just loving your progress pics here. I can not wait to see the finished build, but dont want to see you rush one bit. I am a huge fan of the 1950s War of the Worlds myself, although I have never seen it in a theater. Only TV/VHS/DVD. I was a bit disappointed in the new version compared to the 1950s. Better special effects do not make a better movie.

DP, the Korean War GB is still gonna be going on until July 2003 to coincide with the 60th annivesary of the Armistace there. So if you feel like building another KW subject, you're more than welcome to come back and rejoin us. That goes for everyone else here- first timers or returnees are all welcome.

STIK - Great work on the construction, it all looks good!  I like the gray color scheme also, look forward to see it go on.

CARL - You are doing a fabulous jobYes  The exhaust and the front / spare tracks are excellently done.  It looks awesome.  You are pretty darn good with those chalks, you are influencing me to use chalks more often (I have not used them in a long time).  You are creating a very convincing weathering and colorYes

ANDY - Your army is shaping up nicely.  Your ability to capture the entire evolutionary chain is pretty cool.

I didn't notice that earlier... yes it is looking better now.  Nobody wants to block the driver's vision.  I learned that lesson when I was working on my Chaffee for Korea GB as I had a stowage glued too close to the driver vision.  Oops!

Hey guys , i changed things around a little from the previouse pic .I decided the top row of tracks was blocking part of the drivers vision port . I also took off some seam lines and touched up the tracks .

Mike- Great looking dog!  One of my good friends has two of them... they are great too!!! LOL

Carl-  Applying dark washes to models is my favorite part... your wheels look friggin' good! Yes

Stik- Thanks buddy!  You have no idea how grateful I am for having you here along with other great friends.  We had lots of fun at your Korea War GB and we are at it again.  Agree with you about recent plastic figures... they are almost as good as resin figures now.  And they cost a lot less!!!

Andy, very nice work on those figures. Injection Plastic figures have sure come a long way over the past couple decades in crisp detail. I am looking forward to seeing you get some paint on them. You really have a great GB going on here my friend.

Street, nice pooch you got there. I bet you will have many happy years ahead with him. They become part of the family so quickly.

Shell, once again, some beautiful work on the running gear parts. Your results in the shadows and highlights are most effective. and you're right about dogs being better people than most people. I think in many cases when someone is called a "dog", it's an insult to dogs.

Not to be OT, but here's a picture of him from when we first got him.  Funny, we got him about two months ago as well.  He's a Miniature Schnauzer named Tinker.

One of my friends has a Border Collie, great dog.

Mike- Hey!  I am glad you are still alive and kicking.  I am glad to know that you got your priorities right... school comes first.  Looking forward to see your next update during your week long break.  What kind of dog did you get?  I got a new dog too two months ago... a border collie.

Guys- Another update on the figure #4... the a/gunner!  There was fitting issue as the tripod couldn't lay flat properly.  So I had to sand alot to make room especially around the hood.

Much better now...

All four figures are almost ready... only need slings for the weapons.

Wait a minute... are we seeing evolution of humans here?

I will post another update as soon as slings are attached to the weapons.  Thanks for looking! Beer

Carl,,,  it is always good to have ideas / tips kept in-mind........  I will certainly give it a try at some time.

Street,,,   good to see you emerge,,, glad you're back.   Understood with the busy schedule - - these things happen, for sure.         A weeklong vacation to work at the bench sounds like a little slice of heaven (to me anyway)...   will be looking for updates.

Enjoy the ride!

Hey guys!

AMAZING work so far, everything looks great.  It's gonna be pretty awesome to see all of the pictures lined up when this thing is all finished.

I know I haven't been on here for months, and I just messaged DeafPanzer, but I'm just writing this post quickly to assure everyone that I'm still alive and just extremely busy at this point, with college applications, a new dog, an upcoming move, and some very good grades stealing about 99% of my concentration at the moment.Bang Head

Anyways, my attempt at doing justice to Cyberhobby's Panzer is on ice for now, reminding me every morning of the things that I wish I was doing. Crying But as I told DeafPanzer, I have a weeklong vacation coming in two weeks, so I hope to get stuff done with the kit, and I will be returning.  Sorry about the long absense, and I'm really excited to get back on track with you guys, no pun intended Big Smile

Cheers!

-Mike

Andy and Bill hopefully the can idea will help if you need such an idea , I had the problem of rubbing off the paint due to handling also . It probably was Hinsky's model that gave me the idea on primered wheel .Yes

Stik- Thanks for the info about a/gunner!!! Beer

Carl- Love the texture on the muffler... rust looks spot on!!! Thanks for the info about rubber bands and can... that's something I need to try next time because I notice paint comes off especially at the fenders because I touched them often.  I dig the choice of leaving primer paint on the spare wheels like Hinksy.

Doogs- How can I forget about tequila?!?!?  We ran out of vodka few weeks ago and we were dying for Bloody Mary.  Will remember that next time... glad you liked the figures.  Hope your family is doing OK.  I saw your post earlier... how's the move so far?

Anthony- Looking great!  Can't wait to see it weatherized... that's when it brings life to the model.  I like the water cans too!  Since you have to paint the figures, do you want to paint mine too while you are at it? Big Smile

Congrats with you 2,000th post.  We are honored that you did it here so we are sending you alot of virtual Beer.  Cheers! Toast
