Finally Photobucket is up and running... here's pictures of painted Panzer III K using AK Interactive modulation set.  At first I wasn't too pleased but at the end I loved it after finding the right balance of paint and thinner.

Two more nights until my boys return home from camp...

Looks real good Andy Yes  What do you thin the AK with ?

Every German command tank needed a map and cup holder , right ?Whistling

Hey buddy!  Glad you liked the paint job.  Thanks!!! Beer

At first I wasn't happy but finally figured how much thinner I had to add to the paint.  Noticed darker paint requires more thinner cause it was spitting out of my AB.   Yes, I do recommend AK Interactive and I will buy rest of modulation sets.  So far I have two... Panzer Grey and Dunky.   I believe they offer US Green and Russkie too...

Cup holder?  You got to be kidding me!  It is absolutely unacceptable because I only allow a beer holder. LOL Wink

Deafpanzer - The K looks great with the paint modulation ... I added about 1 part Satin Varnish to 10 parts base paint and 1 part distilled water ... shot at 15 PSI  - Vega 2000 dual airbrush. Worked tonight so didn't have time for the next step Dunkelgelb Base (4). Armor86

Step 4 - AK Interactive Paint Modulation - applied Dunkelgelb Base paint - Starting to see the dark tone standout ... mixed formula with 10 parts Base acrylic color to 1 part distilled water and 1 part Satin Varnish. Used 28 PSI ... Have signed up also for Steel Cats GB - Tamiya Kit - early Tiger I .... likely pick up the AK DAK Colors AKI-550 paint ... Armor86

Wow,you guys are still chugging along and turning out some great Mk.IIIs here!Toast

As I had said some time ago DP, I took some new pics with figs of my  Mk.III for the front page here. I think this shot came out best.

With the gorgeous weather here, my model work has slowed down a bit so that I can enjoy the outdoors. CoolParadise

Armor86- It got paint on!!!  Looking real good.  How do you like AK MC set?  I think I am going to buy more of that.

Great about you signing up for Steel Cats GB.  A lot of great builders there and we all will have fun once again.  I will be building a Tiger too... Dragon kit #6600.  Am really looking forward to it...

Stik- I absolutely agree... that better picture is stunning and I have updated the hall of fame already.  Again, it was fun having you aboard and I am glad this GB is still alive and kicking.  Hoping to see 3 or 4 more completed builds before GB expires.  My Pz III K, Armor86's Pz III J Initial, detail freak's Bergie and few more but I am not sure if they are still around.  Understand we all have been busy and things do come up.

Thanks for looking buddy!

Hey Mike!

Awesome!  I am so glad you are still around!  I wasn't sure as things have been little quiet here.  We still have 6 weeks but I am not too strict about the deadline you know.

Please do not hesitate to post pictures here as you know we love pictures. 8-)

Really appreciate you stopping by!

My pleasure, Andy. I've not missed a post by anyone and have followed the marvelous builds here with interest. Lately I've been cracking on with the stores for my Second Strike F-16 GB contribution, a J2M3 Raiden for Forces of Nature, and trying to both get back to a Phantom for Rhinos III and come to grips with a T-72 for No More Excuses... But I seem to always have an excuse! No matter, this one will be finished, I want it on the shelf very much. The StuG III stowage set by Legend was ordered from LuckyModel ages ago but it was"'available" rather than "in stock," which means it had to be back ordered, and I've known them take forever...

Cheers, Mike/TB379

Final Stages with paint - only have Satin Varnish to seal paint before decals and weathering ... camo two tone not completely finished ... but close -- several photos after final steps (light, highlights) ... Likely get the new AK Set for DAK German Vehicle and will use with Tiger GB in September ... Of note the Green/Brown Camo was from Model Color # 880 and thinned down 50% to airbrush and use the AK highlight with the 2nd and 3rd coats to Modulation it .... Photos taken with and without flash ... different tones with colors .... Armor86

Noted second green/grey/brown camo applied ....

Mike- Holy cow!  Sounds like you have been very busy with ongoing GBs.  Just give us a call if you need us to come over and help you finish them all. LOL

Armor86- Loving your camo job!!!  It looks real good especially for a DAK panzer.  Keep it coming buddy!

Guys- An update on my Pz III K... continued to use Ak Interactive MC set dry brushing lightest shade on the highest points and details such as brackets and clasps.

The Friul tracks are complete.  Dirt pigments will be applied during the final stage when the Pz is complete.

Diorama I ordered to go for this build has arrived today...

Details on MIG diorama base is far superior than Verlinden bases I have in my stash...

Painting stage is finally complete so I will apply couple coats of Future next so I can apply details.  Thanks for looking!!!

Deafpanzer - Did the AK Interactive Modulation set come with AK 010 Satin Varnish - use to seal paint before weathering ... future works too ...

Assembled the road wheels and dry fitted ... soon magic track time again Wink

Ordered white numbers and the AK DAK Weathering set ... I'm still working on dry brushing high points and with a two tone color will use another technique "Dot Filter" using dots of enamel MMs ...

Painted cable and a few tools with MM enamel Gunmetal (non-buffing metalizer) and dry brush steel paint (MM). Wash cable with rust. Photos below with dry fitted road wheels etc. Armor86

Armor86- Your panzer looks better and better every time you post an update!!!  No, it didn't come with the MC set.  I should have brought one while I was at a great shop in Louisville that stocks AK and Vallejo products.

I have been using Future on all of my builds so it won't be a problem... they are so cheap and it works great too.  Planning to spray Future tonight...

Deafpanzer - by the way your Mark III is looking great as well ... you will have to send me the address to the Louisville Hobby store - I have a conference in October in S.C. and I usally drive there and can make stop there either on the way or when coming back thru ... Armor86

Thanks armor86!  Sure here's the information... thanks to our friend ogrejohn as he told me that I have to visit it one day.  And I was so glad I did... one of nicest shops I have seen and it has the best stock of paints than any shops I have visited.

Scale Reproductions... about 15 miles east of Louisville downtown.

Greg- Thanks!  Cool, looking forward to your update.  Remember I know where you live. LOL!  Nah just do your best and enjoy this.

Guys-  OK A lot of process over the weekend while watching Olympics... A coat of Future sprayed.  Decals applied.  Another coat of Future.  Sprayed flat clear on the panzer tonight...

It looks shiny because it was taken right after a final coat of Future... still wet.

Started working on the tank commander figure too...

We have little more than four weeks left...

Thanks TB!!!

My panzer now has its flat look after two coats of flat clear last night...

Worked on the figure again... dry brushed using lighter grey shade on the edges only.  Please keep in mind I will apply dark washes at the end.

Thanks for looking... have a great week!

LMAO!!!!  Thanks Carl!  Always good having you stopping by again.  I am afraid I have gone overboard on the leather jacket so I will apply heavily thinned black paint to tone it down.

Armor86- Thanks buddy!  Your panzer is looking REAL GOOD!!!  Still really dig the camo job.  When I applied the decals on my panzer, I repeatedly told myself I wish I ordered dry transfers for this.

Have fun with the Magic Tracks... they are not that bad but I am done spoiled with Friuls that I don't think I can go without it. LOL
