Bsyamato: Sorry, left you out yesterday- really great work there, you're pretty close to finished.

MSgt: Ok, got you down, that's a great kit, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Trey: Got your Shiden Kai down.

Doc: Wow! She looks fantastic! Love the subtle weathering you've done there. And really sharp job on the base there too! If you should decide to build another I think I can I speak for everyone that we'd love to have you jump in!

Big-Z: She's looking good so far, just keep the photos coming- I'm expecting 229 photos from you before the GB is all over Wink

Jason: Did you decide on the 'Nick' or the 'Myrt'? I don't remember which was leading in votes, I think they were fairly close weren't they?

Gamera, the nate is really near to finish, just had three days of stop for a distress on left elbow, returned on workbench today. Some retouch on the nate and i'll post finished pics Big Smile

TREYZX10R

Bsyamato thanks, the pin wash I use consist of artists oils thinned with lighter fluid . Using a fine brush I touch the panel line and the thinned paint runs into the line by capillary action. The oil base paint does'nt 'attack'  the enamel so you can wipe of the mistakes easily. I also use the oils for weathering and staining areas to simulate oil leaks.

Jason thanks

Decals are in place next will be a final wash and some weathering

Forget about it, thanx trey, but is basically the same process i used, only i use instead of oil color the same enamels with 80-90 % thinned... but the raised details are too little for this tecnique Sad

then , i lost the original pitot tube (Bang Head) eated by the floor and replaced with some metal piece

after last retouch the ki-27 is finished !! this time don't want (and cannot) exagerate with eathering and avoid chippin to simulate an almost new plane. Just need to take decent pictures tomorrow under sunlight

the quarter dollar to give an idea of the plane real dimension

Bsyamato & Len: Great work guys! Looking forward to the finished photos!

Jason: Sounds good, I forgot but what scale and company was the Myrt again?

The Suisei is painted, I need to clean up some overspray yet- if I don't get it done this weekend I'll post photos with the overspray.

You might not know Jack but you sure did remember me saying it`s 1/72 scale..lol. It`s slightly smaller than a 1/48 B-17 and it`s fuselage is almost exactly as lond as a 1/48 B-24D`s...wings are about 2 1/2 inches shorter than the B-24` though. Nice size for it`s scale.

was using this new chopper thing she got off qvc to cut up some lettuce.  couldnt figure out how the guard worked so went without.  got the entire head of lettuce chopped, then went for one more pass and took basically the meaty pad of my index finger off, like where your finger print is.  was lucky enough to miss bone, nail or artery but was still bleeding so badly had to go to an urgent care, and they had to numb my finger and cauterize it to stop the bleeding.  lets just say they didnt use enough numbing lol hurt something awful and still does and now have to  work two sixteen hr shifts at the jail.  sorry for poor grammar or spelling, posting from the cell phone.

BTW: going to throw this in as well. Good golly this is a nice kit, I picked up an Eduard ZOOM set for the cockpit but it doesn't really need it, so I think I'll hang on to the PE and build the kit out-of-box.

Will try to get the photos of the Suisei up soon, I've been finishing off a P-47 and mostly busy with it.

JailCop sorry for the wounded index , hope get soon back good. I had too some problem, no cuts here but some weather inflammation in the elbow. No good movements for two days.

NIce score Gamera Yes

well, today tried to get some under the sun pictures but the blowing wind speak not: a dangerous take-off of the ki-27 was possible, so i get some indoor picture and only one out:

on an italian modelling magazine, out of business from 2000 ( Crying )

one of finest molded piece of plastic seen till now: the gunsight have a really tiny support, near to a hair

with a friend

that's all for now. Need to decide the next subject

Bsyamato: Glad to hear your elbow is better, not much modeling you can do without your arm.

The Ki-27 looks great! Love your gunsight! It is amazing how small this plane was.

Which photo would you like on the front page or would you like to wait until you take more photos outside?

Jailcop, hope you have a speedy recovery.

Gamera, that's a great kit. I built it in captured US markings when it first came out, like you said, no PE needed. Can't wait to see your effort.

Thanx Gamera, chose yourself the picture, today the sun was really good, i'll try tomorrow to some outdoor picture (best was if i get one at the dawn with.. rising sun ) hoping in a less windy day Lightning

Waikong: Already started on the cockpit, great detail and fantastic fit. Hans von Hammer would hate this kit. Only  problem I've found so far is I'm having the devil of a time sanding/filing off the injection pin marks on the inside of the flaps, which if you build them retracted of course don't show. Not Tamiya's fault- I don't know of any way to engineer the kit without putting the marks somewhere.

Bsyamato: I'll wait till tomorrow for the rest of your photos before posting anything.

Manny: It's the 1/72nd ICM kit, Bsyamato can fill you in if you have any other questions.
