Trey-

I have that exact kit also. Took it out to look at it and discovered no instruction sheet in there. This kit was an ancient Ebay buy...think it was part of a "lot" of kits I won. Is there a site where I may be able to download a copy? I remember some people talking about that before but as usual, I didn`t pay attention...Dunce

Gamera:  Put me down for these please:

Tamiya 1/48 - Frank & George

ARII 1/48 Naka Ki44 Shoki (Tojo)

Otaki 1/48 Jack

( I agree Otaki is a good looking kit guys, in fact all of these kits are similar standard. Otaki is now obsolete so Jack will also be part of Long Gone GB in 2012)

Thanks Trouble

Preshaded panel lines with Tamiya Flat Black enamel

Top paint - first coat Tamiya Flat Earth acrylic with a few drops of Flat Black, second coat same with less black drops to get the faded effect on the panels

Then Allclad Aqua Gloss one coat (LHS introduced me to this recently, great stuff, comparable with Future(cant get it here) I believe

Very happy with paint work - so not bothering with a wash or weathering or dullcoat(?)

There are a few blemishes here but on this scale ............

Len: Once again thanks for masking tips, not quite up to your standard here but a vast improvement over my previous attempts

Beautiful Diana Needbeer. Actually, I need a beer. Beer

Trey, another? Good gawd man, you're an animal.

Those Otaki kits do look nice and easy with good detail. My gripe is they aren't in English and have no IP decals.

My Otaki kit has Engrish instructions - doesn't say a lot though?

On that subject can anyone translate from Hasegewa language to Engrish, "propellor color" - for my Dinah?

On the NMF props, the backs are to be painted gross black...Big Smile  Seriously...I think "prop color" is about the same as XF-64 Red Brown...that would be Led Blown to the Hasegawa folks...

Ok, firstly. I think MPC stands for Multi-pieces of crap.... or probably rather Must Professionaly Construct......

Anyhoo. My cockpit came out well but when it came to joining the fuselage halves it was a disaster at all edges. There fuselage to wing joint issue was a shame. Over my head and learned some things. I never gave up on the pe though and it was fun.....

So last night in shame i bagged it up and slodgged over to the stash and grabbed a special edition tojo. In no time I had the wings, and fuselage together and it fit like a glove, barely a seam. Certainly made me feel a little better. I'll put pics up in a bit. But the A6m5k is off the bench.

On the bench: 72nd scale P51D, P47D Razorback

Big-Z: Both of those sound cool!

Trey: Not sure what happened to the Ki-84 photo. I corrected it and it shows up now. Will put down the Ki-100.

Needbeer: Wow, she looks great! Love the panel shading! I'm going to put down the first photo on the front page, if you want me to change it out please let me know. Did you want me to put you down for all the aircraft you listed right now? I'll throw them up and if you want to change them let me know on that too.

Noah: Sorry to hear about the Zero, haven't built a MPC kit in years. The Tojo sounds really cool though, would you like me to change your roster aircraft to it? What scale and company please?

Bsyamato: Love those cartoons! Now I'm thinking of finding some Hasegawa egg planes and trying to do a pair of models like the British knight in the Spitfire and the Japanese samurai in the Zero shooting at each other with bows. Only they don't make a Spitfire so I'm thinking I could do an American cowboy in a Corsair or P-40 instead with a big revolver. Hmm

Prop colour is yes a reddish brown- close to 'rust' or hull red.

Guys I think everything is updated on the roster as usual if I messed up anything please yell at me to change it.

Gamera this diorama projects sounds cool Cool in Akira Toriyama style (dragon ball and arale series father) !!! remember i see one of humoristic work: a perfect realistic finished diorama representing an mp motorcicle (1/35 probably) with a caricature of mp figure, the bike rearing on a wheel .

Try to find the picture on the web (not founded Crying ) i see the FineMold produced a 1/12 figure series about ww2 subject under Akira drawings:

[View:/themes/fsm/utility/04 - WWII U.S.S.R. Infantry Woman and Shpagin PPSh1941 Sub Machinegun - box 01:550:0]

heres two serious example finished

LOL

At least two weeks for new models to put here Crying

Edit:

not only figures Propeller

That's because they are referencing the Gunze Sanyo line of paints from Japan. They indeed make a 'Propeller' color paint (C131), They also a 'Cockpit' color for Mitsubishi, a one for Nakajima.

HA! Welcome Sign to the world of MPC models! Now that you know what you`re dealing with, you can adjust your approach for construction. Those kits can be built up to amazing models but you have to have patience and nerves of steel! I have a Pe-2 that I`ve shelved several times but will complete. The Modelcraft F-82 Twin Mustang kit is still THEE WORST kit I`ve ever come across...makes MPC kits seem like Snap Tites..lol,.

That type 95 tank cartoon is in reference to the Japanese folklore Momotaro or peach boy - so the boy's companions are a dog, a monkey and a pheasant. (all of the talking variety :P)

On the group build, I'm still churning out more Japanese ships..

Currently finishing up a Fujimi Ashigara in 1/700. In the background is battleship Hiei in progress.

Bsyamato: I'll see if I can get one of the figures done some time next year. I really need to finish some stuff before I even think about starting anything new. And thanks for the nice list of different paint references.

Potchip: Thanks! There are some aspects of Japanese culture I frankly know nothing about. Wow, those ships are beautiful work, one day I promise myself I'll try one, probably the results will be too ugly to post here though. Blind Fold

Herc: Magnificent job! The Dinah was a sexy plane and you definably did her justice.  I'm putting your second photo up on the roster, and as usual if you'd like me to change it please let me know.

PS: The photo didn't show and now my browser locks up every time I try to edit the roster. Will get you up as soon as I can- sorry.

I think I got the last decal on the Judy, every time I think I'm done I find one or two tiny ones I forgot. The Zero's cockpit is done as well, Photos soonish. BTW: watched a really freaky Japanese horror movie called 'Housu' or 'House' tonight. And I do mean freaky - it was like half 'Poltergeist' and half what I'd imagine a bad LSD trip would be.
