Never had any interest in building a Japanese aircraft until I saw Trey's marvelous builds. A sliver of interest became an itch I just had to scratch.

Put me down for Tamiya's 1/48 Ki-84 Hayate. Not sure on the scheme yet - got the epic Sky Models decal sheet with markings for something like 24 different aircraft. 

Not sure when I'll start yet - currently got my hands full with a pair of Jugs and a Fiat G.55. But definitely planning this one for the nearish future...

Big-Z: If you want to post the updated photos here I think we can always use some more inspiration!

Doogs: Good to have you! Just remember you don't have to build as many or as fast as Trey. And take your time- you've got nine months so you have plenty of time for your own GB and Tigermans before you tackle the Ki-84.

Guys, tomorrow evening I'll see about getting SAR's photos fixed and Satchs posted to the front page. My home ISP is way faster than the work one and makes it much easier and faster to post and change photos.

Big G...I built this one about year and a half ago....It was an experiment in two techniques.....one the worn down weathering.....and two...playing with fiber optics...and yes..I'm proud of my floatie thingies...

you know I had the same fear...until I looked into it....these fiber optics are SO easy to work with. They are plastic strands... 1mm thick or more....and just connect to an LED on a switch that already comes prewired for a 9v battery( the square ones) Theres a heat shrink sleave that goes over the LED and the fiber ends,,,just run the fibers inside the wings or fuselage...secured with tape...try it...you will be surprised

thanks guys on the kind words about my George. i was looking at all the finished builds on page one and man o man theres some really good stuff comin out of this GB. In fact after lookin at the Zeros ill try to bash together the new tamiya A6M5.(boy you guys are a bad influence!!)

Carsanab and Reasoned, I'm going to try and imitate your paint chipping technique on my George.  I've got paint and decals on.  I think I'll try to get a little flat coat on and then get the silver pencil out.  Boy, that front page is impressive.  My George is looking a little paltry right now.  I've got some work to do.  Rick

I use the pencil after the decals and after a coat of flat clear...the flat give some "tooth" for the pencil and also seals the decals...if the finish is gloss its tougher to work with. After that a shot of semi gloss and some light washes and a final flat or another semi gloss depending on the final finish I want......good luck!!!!

For the lights will see in future what can i do Carlos just today i see a my brother lighter with two alternate micro lights inside (like police duty lights ) when the lighter is used ... also a blue led as searchlight.... a simple lighter !!

I'd kicked around the idea of putting an electric motor to turn the prop and lights on my 1/32 Hasegawa P-47D. Figured there would be a lot of room in there for all the parts. I love what Big-Z has done here, thinking and thinking about it...

Thanks! I'm working on two 1/48th P-47s on Doog's P-47 first to build up more experience before I tackle the 1/32nd one so I don't know when I'll get to it but probably not anytime soon.

Ah thought it was. I guess I could try to put the electronics in a 1/48th P-47 but I want to give myself plenty of room.

SAR sweet job on that George, I like the way it came out !

BTW: Here's the Tamiya Zero sans decals.

I've put on about half of them since these photos.

Dream of a kit, bit pricey but if you want a late model Zero and can find it cheap you can't beat the Tamiya kit for detail, ease of fit, and variety of options.

Great zero here Cliff!!! like the azure well color.
