Got the airframe complete. Not thrilled with the fit of the wings.

Putty filling and filing... oh joy.

Don't know if this GB is still going or not... but here's the cockpit of "Miss Dallas". Engine tomorrow.

Love these hi res pics. It lets me see the needed touchups before I button things up. More later.

Stu,

As slow as this GB is panning out, I think you will be able to get the new canopy from Hasegawa and still be the first to post in progress picts.

Haven't seen much activity on this GB lately.  Anyway.  I need to change mine up from the Crusader to Pro-Modeller's A-26 Invader.  I managed to lose the Canopy to my F-8 and Hasegawa told me it could take up to 12-weeks for the replacement to arrive.  I'll be doing the markings of "The 6th Chadwick" From Pyn-Up Decals.

We've got a year mate, plenty of time to decide, personally like the F-8 or B-24s! Big Smile

I'd be really interested in joining this one.  I have a couple of kits in the stash I'd be looking at:

  • Hasegawa 1/48 F-8 Crusader in early VF-84 markings.  The one with the flames coming off the intake.
  • Hasegawa 1/72 B-24 in NMF Jolly Rogers markings
  • Monogram 1/48 A-26B in "The 6th Chadwick" markings
  • Revell 1/48 B-25 in "MRM" markings.  Though it sounds like Hans has the Mitchell spoken for.

I'm open to suggestions but those are my top 4 choices.  Leaning heavily towards the F-8.   I also have a Revell B-17F I was going to do as "Shamrock Special" and I also have the big Tamiya 1/32 P-51 with "Passion Wagon" markings.  Though not sure I'm ready to take on these biguns just yet.

I'm in with a cross-over, if that's ok...

1/48 Monogram B-25..

Haven't decided on the art-work, but it's gonna be spurious B-25 rather than historical..

Here's a pic of "Miss Dallas"

That's the artist standing on the wing. Only nose artist that I know had an exhibit of his art at the Smithsonian.
