Thanks, guys!

I can only echo what everyone else has said about the other builds. They look great! I really like the wooden base for the Corsair, and the model looks great too.

The SBD's paint job is awesome, and the Harriers look fantastic.

Regards,

-Drew

Ok, guys, with the the help of wibhi2, I'm gonna try this again.

For the F7F-3N:

The kit is the 1/48th AMT kit, which I recommend that NOBODY build...............
The gray streaks on the top of the engine nacelles are supposed to be exhaust stains, but they look more like gray paint applied with a brush.

And, for the Hornet:

The Hornet is the 1/32nd Academy kit, with CAM decals for VMFA-323 and glow-in-the-dark formation lights (yep, they really do!). The decals, after dipping them in water, lightened up to almost the same color as the paint, so you can barely make them out, even when up-close to the model. I thought that they would darken up after they dried, but no such luck. They were very dark until I put them in water......

Anyway, I hope you guys like the pictures. Wibhi, many, MANY thanks for your help in this!! Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

SEMPER FIDELIS!!!!

Folks,

I have updated the first page of the Group Build with the status of the participant's projects. I will attempt to keep it as up-to-date as possible. Out of 22 participants, only 7 have responded to the deadline, with four having completed kits. Where are the rest of you?? We wanna see some pictures!!!! Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

Gary, great pictures!

Your Hornet and Tirgercat look really good. I know you had a rough time with the Tirgercat, be we wouldn't know it from looking at the pictures.

-Drew

My pictures are coming soon. I have the models build, and I have bought a digital camera, which takes great pictures BTW. I have also tried to make a website to get the pictures online, but this is the most difficult part for me. But I hope to get them online this week, hopefully tomorow if my younger brother is cooperative.
The pictures that you guys posted look great by the way.Definitly Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Steam Flute (aka stoomfluit),

Good to hear that your projects are done. I've updated the first page to reflect that. I'm looking forward to see your pictures when you get them posted. If you need help, maybe one of the Group Build participants can help you out with hosting the pictures. Luckily, wibhi helped me get my pictures posted, even though I have unlimited web space with my ISP to post pictures (I don't know why they would intermittently not appear in this forum). Looking forward to seeing your models!!!

gary,
try taking the spaces out of the picture names or put "_" (underscore) in the empty spaces. Net addresses and links don't line "spaces" between words - Just like old DOS.
3d modelling is an option a true mental excercise in frusrtation

WOW guys everything looks awesome!!! Gary, I am glad you got to show off your beautiful builds!! Last week was tremendous getting ready for the Nats, but I finished the Corsair in the Hotel room!! LOL I really had a great time. Here are the finished pics....my first finished Aircraft, and my third finished model (The mini slid in a couple hours before the Corsair!) I wish you could see the bulged wheels....If you ever get the chance pick up the bulged wheels for your builds, they really add that little touch. This was my first completed Group Build, and the first one that I had joined. It has been an absolute pleasure, and I look forward to seeing more!! I will be back regularly to see if anyone else posts!! Thanks for everything guys!! Hope to see you in some more GB!!!

Heath,

The Corsair looks awesome! I've always liked the look of the birdcage canopy and the light blue paint.

Thanks for posting your photos!

GREAT JOB!! A really great-looking Corsair. Did you place at all with it at the IPMS Nationals? Let us know how you did.
