@ Owl If you are going to use the Kit decals reverse the Chinese roundels for top and bottom. The stock ones for the tops of the wings are way over-sized, I think the bottoms are also a bit big but are close.

All these Revell-O-Gram kits are lookin great !!!!! This group rocks. I can even remember when that space shuttle came out, is that a blast to the past or what I ask you.

Sorry gang.. I've been outta the net for some time, but things are almost back to normal now... Baroness Von Hammer was in the hospital for the last seven days or so, and I was forced to remain there with her 24/7 (with occasional short breaks from a Nurse's Aid)..  I'll try to get things caught up around here, but can't right now due to some work-related issues... 

Short story: Unfortunately, the Family Medical Leave Act doesn't apply to me in this case, and even though her Doc ordered me to remain in the hospital with her day & night, my boss's Son-in-law (who is my immediate supervisor) is being a full-blown ***-head about it so I may either be un-employed (or perhaps jailed, depending on my mood when we next speak) soon... Provided how he sees fit to handle the situation... 

As you all recall, I just had surgery replacing my left hip on the 3rd of April and was out of the office for a week or so, then the wife got sick last week...  I'm not getting the recovery time I require, and I'm not getting a "pass" due the wife's condition either... So, I may be "adjusting" his attitude soon, if y'all catch m' meaning...

Good news is that the Baroness is back home, and doing well now, and she even (against my better judgement) went back to work today...

Thanks for y'all's patience and understanding in this matter, and I'll extend y'all's good wishes to her as well... Meanwhile, I may have to make some concrete-overshoes for this Richard-head... 'Course, I got access to 40 acres and shovel as well, should the creek fail to rise...

Fortunately, I didn't have to resort to anything drastic...   I just told him that if he wanted to fire me over it to go ahead, since I wasn't even looking for a job when I got this one... 

Heck,  I just started out in this job six years ago by not having enough money to pay all the rent one month ( I was ashrt about a hundred), and the owner told me I could work off the balance by doing some painting for him... One thing led to another, and now I manage three buildings for him...  

His son-in-law can French-kiss my 4th Point-Of-Contact...   

Anyway, time to get crackin' on my own models... Hate to be the first GB host that bolos...

Have some WIP pictures to share of the Sprint Car. Got the rear end all finished other than a bit of touch up and brake lines. Also I have the engine in with scratch made vintage velocity stacks for a mid 80s car.

The only kit parts on the rear end are the quick change housing, shocks and watts linkage. The brakes are PE and the torsion arms are are PE backed with plasticard for a more scale thickness. Everything else is scratch built. Hope you like, comments are welcomed

Good to have ya back Hans. You and the Missus get well soon. I once had a supervisor like yours. So many times I wanted to bust a cap on his a44 or lop his head off.

Hawk 81-A3 WIP

Just closed up the fuselage on the P-40 so time for some pics. I also have the wings assembled minus the gear and am ready to start test fitting them. I was going to completely scratch build the cockpit on this and changed my mind to just doing some gizmology. My next P-40 project which has to be done between June and October 1st I do plan on going that route. I did scratch build a proper panel and the backs of the .50s that protrude into the cockpit. To facilitate the installation of this and the blank off plate I built for the back of the pit I opened up the bottoms of the female locator holes for the cockpit floor on the fuselage sides so I could work up from the bottom. I did manage to be a bit sloppier than I should have with the fuse and there is a step at the top and bottom of the rear. The top of the nose has a seam that will need filling and the nose piece fit a bit less well than desired. The issue with the nose seems to be more of a molding issue than assembly. The panel lines are not matching up there and I am debating doing a rescribe. If I do rescribe it will just be all the panel lines as the rivets on the early P-40s do not seem to show in period photos. I seem to recall they were all flush riveted up to the E model anyway.

I have also got the fuselage glued together on my SBD which is for my 3rd entry. However I am going to have to put both of these aside and do a quick Revell Bf109G-10. I had planed to do that model after I completed the P-40 and the SBD to use up the paint from the Do335. But for some reason the paint is wanting to cure in the storage containers it is in so I am going to try and slam that out real quick before the paint goes south.

I haven't been able to get much more work done on the p40, due to finals, moving out of the dorms, and settling in back home (and cleaning. My brother is graduation high school and we're throwing a big party with family coming in from out of state). But I looked through my camera and realized I forgot to post some detail photos, so here they are.

and some detail I added on the drop tank. The ridge around the tank was sanded off with the seam, so I added a new one with some thin wire. Also, added braces.

I have a 1973 P-51 B in progress about 30% completed  is this an okay entry.

Also question do you have to post in progress pictures.

Unsure about in progress but if its okayed then yes WIP pics are a must

Here is what i have done so far. I also was thinking of a new camo scheme this one is a little boring. Or at least new decals these are fourty years old.

well heres a big update i've got the decals on(suprisingly no silvering) and all of the weathering as well sorry no pictures of just decals but the base coat of weathering which goes in the order of promodeller black wash for some panel lines, Mig productions brown wash for a dirty look but still just panel lines then mig productions black pastel chalk for a real dirty look along with some chrome silver metalizer for chipping all in all I really like the dirty look these planes were used as work horses even the pretty ones were worn down heavily from what i can see in books and black and white pictures anyways here are the updated pictures....I'm still waiting for a replacement windscreen..

Here is my first entry for the build. I had planned to do a diorama of weapons being loaded onto the Skyraider but life has gotten in the way.  I may be able to do this yet but, I wanted to at least show the completed model. So that being said here is my Skyraider

MKelly that is an awesome build.  I like the camo seems simple but effective.  There is alot of white on the bottom though.

The only white on the bottom is in the wheel wells. The flash on the camera makes look white. It is the light gray that is standard on SEA camo.

Outstanding Skyraider!  Is it out of the box or modified?  Had one in the stash for over 20 years and need to build it but the kit was really dissed when the Tamiya kit came out.

Straight from the box. Replaced the exhaust pipes with aluminum tube and replace the cannons with solid aluminum wire drilled out to a scale closer than the aluminum tubing I had. I am happy with the kit the cockpit needs to be dressed up but, I did not take the time to do that. Other than that I think it is a good lit.

Just splashed a little paint on the interior spaces of my FW-190 tonite while the Hurricane is drying on the paint bench.  This one will be a SOB (sorta outta box)  Have true detail wheels and a PE instrument panel that represents the front better than the kit decal.  As soon as I find my usb cord for my camera I got pics.
