I wouldn't mind seeing the chef in the GB Badge :)

I think you're onto something! I'll add a Chef!

(btw, anyone posting to this - make sure to add some "Tags" to your post - I've already started the process with my posts, but multiple users tagging te same words seem to work best. The tags show up in that "box o' words on the right side of the web pages. We could attract a little more attention that way Wink)

Hopefully this build will inform, entertain, and ruffle a few feathers in a good way. Considering the cast so far, this build has the potential to reach EPIC status!

Alright gentlemen, Seeing as how we're only a few pages into this thread, I'll re-title it ( I think I can still do that?) and use it for the official GB thread. I

One Swede  likes the title change

Hey, they're out there! Have a look around, you may find something odd & interesting. Sweden is more than just IKEA and meatballs!

I didn't know there was an aircraft manufacturer by the name SAAB so that's why my mind automatically thought of the car.

In like a fat kid on Sweedish meatballs!

With a little Wikipedia research...

First flight of the Saab 17 (their first aircraft:) May 18, 1940 (that's today!)

First flight of the Gripen: Dec 9, 1988 (effectively the end of the year.)

How 'bout those for "official" dates?

Thanks

(Sorry folks, sunny long weekend up here = Vance no touchy the computers!)

sub revolution - dates look good.... IT'S ON!!!!

Gamera - cross GB is fine with me, anything that may help get a few extras in here.

Kugai - welcome to the madness!

ww2psycho - they make cars too?!?!? Wink Whistling

Alright gentlemen, Seeing as how we're only a few pages into this thread, I'll re-title it ( I think I can still do that?) and use it for the official GB thread. I may or may not be able to set up the roster list on the front page today, but I will this week for sure.

Ya lost Gamera, but I'm in with a 1/72 Heller J-21.

As I'm forcing my digital Point and Shoot  to do tricks it was never designed to do, it is going to take a while to work out the depth of field for those old SLR  close up lenses and Neutral Density filter before I can post decent photos..

Vance: I've posted a photo of the painted Instrument panel and cockpit walls for you next door.

Oh, I'm still in just a slightly delayed start here Wink

The time will allow me to finish some other stuff off before I start the Viggen.

Sorry, Gamera.

I misunderstood.

I'm not sure which kit I'd build, but count me in.

Maybe I'll finally build the 1:48 Viggen that's been in the stash for a while, but more likely I'll get either the Gripen, Viggen, or Drakken in 1:72.

Vance: CallsignOwl is launching a 'Forces of Nature' GB in a month or so and since Viggen is Swedish for 'Thunderbolt' I'm going to hold off starting and do a cross GB if it's all the same to you.

..
bsyamato - resisting the urge to start another one? I've got two of those little Viggens in the stash, one Heller and one Airfix boxing. I really like the look of the 2-seater as well, plan on doing one of them that way. Am I crazy for considering the 4-colour splinter pattern in 1/72 scale?!?!

..

not so mad i am (i'm convinced of that!) i'll going for the grey scheme this time (not included in the decals but will find a way to do so) not for the mega insane splinter camo!!!

Something like that! included necessary aircraft updates

(image wallpaperstock.net)

yes i can't resist to join, i had the same idea but not only for the saab, my idea was a swedish GB inclued other brands and tank, girls etc Whistling

Also wil try to get a draken before (and if) the GB start Cool

I can neither confirm or deny one for the Navigatorette when she turns 16 Wink

A shame Revell never re-issued  their 1/32 JAS 39 Grippen.

Alright, I'm convinced we can make a go of it. Small but determined is good with me, we may pick up a few stragglers too. Now... timeline & start date? What does "start now, finish by end of year" sound like?? (I'm so democratic!)
