I jst completed my KT today (5 AM),  but I can't post any pics for you. I had to leave right after cleaning my AB, because I had to catch a flight... I'll get home on Sept. 25th, so I can't post any pics untill then. I hope I'm still allowed to post my pics of the completed kitten when I'm back  in Vienna. If I am not allowed to post them., I'll just post a separate thread witth the pics...

Been quiet so figured id post. Almost to the end.  Got my tracks on yesterday and came up bout ten short on one side. So hopefully the few left over will make it.  Putting together the run right now. Gotta prime paint and weather this run as well. Aye...  so hopefully by the time im done ill figure out how to get my pics uploaded again.

Even though the GB is officially over, I spent the last few nights getting caught up on all the completed builds I missed since I my last update many months ago!  Sorry that these comments are so late in coming.

Jack - just checked out your Tamiya 1/48 Tiger I in Tunisia!  Absolutely fantastic smaller scale rendition!  Love the Tropen pattern, the weathering, the figure and the base!  Sorry I missed it earlier!

stik - updated myself on all the work on your Italeri Tiger I.  Everything came out great!  Love all the detail you put into the kit and those sweet looking figures too!  Interesting how both yours and Jack's Tiger are both in a Tunisian setting, but with different color schemes!

Shawker - nice KT you've built there.  Last I remember, you had a zig-zag pattern going on, but now it looks like a standard tri-tone camo scheme...very nice!  The Nichimo kit is an oldie, but you did it justice!

Dan - what a winner!  Love all the work you put into the Tamiya DAK Tiger I, including the two tone Africa pattern and the mesh on the barrel.  It looks realistically dirty and dusty!

Tony - Nice work on the small Tiger I!  You did a great job on that smaller 1/48 Tamiya kit!  I like seeing in panzer gray too! 

Dave - I can't believe that's the Italeri Panther A!  I followed your build right until you laid on the paint so I know how much work you put into it!  The end result is fabulous, you should be very proud!

Eric - Sorry to hear that the Dragon Kursk Tiger kit didn't live up to expectations, but you still produced an excellent build!  I think the camo and weathering turned out great, despite it turning out darker than you wanted.  I read your thoughts on the weathering process; very interesting, I'll have to contemplate on those for my next project!  Congrats on a fine build!

Mike - Man o man, that's a very nice King Tiger, and you did it so quickly!  I adore the camo pattern on it!!  When I build my first Tamiya KT (P) yours will by my inspiration!

Bob - Yo dude, nice looking Panther!  I love how you went with the dark green base coat with the dark brown camo....very striking look that's not often done!  It contrasts very nicely with the other Panthers built here.  Kudos on your fine work!

Clemens - I'm dying to see the completed King Tiger!  The WIP photos show a very promising end result with the faded winter whitewash over the tri-tone camo!

Ibuild - I hope to see our completed King Tiger soon!  The in progress pics of the KT and the MiniArt base are very nice!

Eric (host) - My friend, I just realized I completely missed the completion of your Tamiya Jagdpanther!!  It really is a beautiful build, one of your best!  I love the bold camo scheme you did and your light weathering style is perfect.

As for my Dragon Panther F, the GB is over so I've put it away for a while.  I suppose I could try to fix it as some have suggested, or replaced it with another cupola (the F cupola/hatch is different),  but I need something less demanding right now to get me back in the groove.  For now it has joined my other shelf queens, but will hopefully be revived later this year!

Although I didn't participate as much as I wanted to, this was still a superb Group Build, probably the best I've seen!  Congratulations to all and especially to Eric "Tigerman" for being such a great host!  Lets do it again next year!

Thanks for checking in Ernest. Sorry you didn't get her done. I was looking forward to your finished build. Oh well,  maybe on the next one.

Thanks for the nice words about my jagdpanther. I wish I dirtied it up a bit more, but I was concerned about losing the dot filters which came out well.

I might fire up another GB later in the year or around Jan. 1st. Say tuned.

Thanks, Ernest -- my KT(P) was based on Tony Greenland's rendition of the same kit, as seen in his "Panzer Modelling Masterclass" book, with the principle exception of his use of a PE set and hand-painting the insignia and numbers, I'm sure not up to that! Also he used pastel chalk weathering overall, while I used MiG pigments selectively. It was a fun build and looks good on the shelf. I must do a Jagdpanther in common markings one day...

Thanks Ernest! I really appreciate the comments.  I had the same reaction when this thing was done. When I look at the thing I can't believe it started out as that old, humble little kit. It really made it that much more rewarding in the end. 

I really think I owe the marked improvement in my skills to the GB and forums in general. They really helped me step up my game with the build logs, tips and such. Looking forward to the next one...

Let me say first that many of the entrys on this GB are stellar . It makes me realize the amount of time, attention to detail and patience that many of you put into your work/art/craft.

I want to thank Eric for extending the date so that I and a few others had a chance for complteion.

Your earlier photos were better quality.  This one has a lot of camera 'noise' happening, which usually results from poor lighting or using too much of the zoom feature?

Ok guys. I finally  recovered from my jetlag and decided to take some pics for you. I ran into a problem though. I forgot to place the kitten in my display case before leaving so it had a lot of dust on it when I came home. I dusted her off, but by doing so I broke off a decent amount of tiny bits including both rear fenders, half of the right front fender (I should've used more superglue on those PE bits), the headlight, various tools, one of the towing cables and the tip of the MG cradle. I need to glue all those parts on and replace some of the fender parts I lost (about 3 of them) before I can take some pics for you. It is nothing serious but I have only limited time this week, so I should be done by next sunday.

All of you have built some really great looking "Kitty Cats" Earlier, I found this show on You Tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KQ8x52FMsM Maybe someone already posted it, but here it is (again)

I haven't built any thing armored. The closest thing I've done/doing is the halftrack Lee marvin and his remaining members of his Dirty Dozen leave the chateau (sp) in. I'm still working on it for the Hollywood GB.

Ok, just thought I would share it here. My Tiger for this GB was also part of a GB for our local AMPS Chapter (So Cal) which was entered at the IPMS nationals in August in Colorado. Our AMPS GB took 1st place in the Group/Chapter catagory and our AMPS chapter has a one year possesion of that monster cup trophy. One of the chapter members who went there, recorded this and shared it with the Chapter after posting it on You  Tube. I told them we need to mix a grog for that cup and all have some in proper armor fasion.

Good show and congrads on a well deserved win!
