Gorgeous looking Tiger, Stik! Is that only a wash, or did you aplly a filter as well? It looks more blueish to me, but that could just be because of different lighting...

Ohhhhhhh nice work SP, the wash really brings out the detail! I wish my washes looked that good.

These are aftermarket tracks from ModelKasten, Shawker. So Dragon is a non-factor. Thanks anyways.

do they look like shocks or part of the suspension?  If so I had several extra also on mine I think they were from an older kit/non updated one, I saved mine to use in a dio as parts on the ground around a field repair camp.  You can also look for a pdf of the plans on Google where someone has more then likely updated the instructions and marked through them as being unused.

Dragon is famous for extra parts due to the cost of re-doing the injection molds they just include them.  Hopefully someone else might know for sure.

I finally broke open the box of ModelKasten KT II tracks in hopes of getting something done tonight but have run into a question?

The attached photo has 2 unidentified pieces in the CENTER of the sprue not mentioned in the insructions and will hope someone here can identify what these are for?

My next tiger is going to be bengal camoed still trying to work out how to do the stripes (orange and white will be replaced).

Thank you Jack. Yes, I have read both sides of the argument, and obviously I am going with the intel and eyewitness folks who say yes. I have read all sorts of theories on the paint color/source, and I opted for an Italian Olive Green, as that was one of the viable theories to me, and it matches what is described from what I have read from eyewitness reports.

I like the tropical two tone scheme you chose for yours.

Stik, great progress there.

Many people do shoot down the theory of solid olive/green Tiger scheme, but there are a number of eyewitness accounts, from both allied and German, that say otherwise.  No one is exactly sure where the paint source is from.

------------------------------------------

After much deliberation, I've decided to go with the duo-tone tropical scheme.  In the picture below, there appears to be some semblance of this near the Heidi logo on the bow plate.  It looks, to what I can best describe, as a jigsaw puzzle shape.  The photo itself though might have been taken in Italy while awaiting the ferry.

The original photo is from the TIIF site, I've added the red bordered inset photo with higher contrast.

regards,

Jack

Our AMPS chapter here is sending a batch of Tiger builds (much like this GB, but only Tiger variants) to IPMS Nationals next month. That is what this build is for. We had a test run of the display on Saturday.  We had Tigers of all marks in every conceivable scheme there- yes a green one was unique.

Looking good SP! Though I'll admit it's strange seeing a green Tiger! Odd things that references turn up. Great job on the figures so far and looking forward to seeing these four new painted up to join them.

Yesterday before AMPS I was able to get the decals on... yeah pretty rough, turret numbers and hull crosses Wink but those turret numbers had me worried for a bit... until they dried completely they looked like they would be horribly silvered... thankfully that did not happen

Small update from last night, 11 July.

I am using Mini Arts Village Road for my cat. I still have telephone polls with wire and the fencing to do. Weathering the paver stones, adding more foliage, etc.

 photo 004-1.jpg

I'm off to to the cave and start working on the tracks, fencing and telephone polls.

When is the deadline date for this GB???

It is said that he found a nice Berber woman...Whistling

Well yesterdays's photo of my updated work on Dieter & Rolf did not come out well, so I tried again today...

and then I finally got the Olive Green base coat on....

so Dieter is happy with how his Tiger is starting to look...

So I instlled them, and glued down the last bits in place... beautiful detail on these grills... they even got a weave texture in the mesh...

So now Hans und Franz wait patiently for their Tiger to get a full coat of Olive Green tomorrow...

No package from Sprue Brothers today for me... just more detail work on the figures. Washes and dry brushing. Maybe tomorrow...

Nice work on your King Tiger Shawker. If you want to try and submit more photos, I'll hold off on the photo for finished builds.

Dan, that would be cool. Not sure if I'll be able to lead a GB. Something kind of came up, but I'll see what I can do.
