 tigerman:

Steve, I've hosted maybe 8-10 GB's. Before you came back, the Blitz in the West was my most successful GB to date with over 2,000 posts and some 20 plus completed builds. I'm also running That's Amore Italian GB.

Tigerman: 8-10 REALLY!?!...I feel a bit foolish...Embarrassed sorry, Eric.   I'll keep following along and make my official sign up soon!Yes

No harm, no foul

The Hunters GB, though very similar to Panzerjaeger GB, was open to allied tank killers and that drew some debate on vehicles such as the ISU-152, which i believe was ruled out.

Shellback

Been cleaning up the badge idea . I'll add more as we go along. Toast

Maybe "Wehrmacht" above "steel cats " ?

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w164/Shellback-01/Misc%2001/steelcat.jpg

I like the metal look to the letters. If we do decide on German, Wehrmacht, or something else, perhaps it should be in smaller letters. Idea

Interesting points. Shall we drop the Leopard? I agree it doesn't really fit in with the others.

I admit I'm still lobbying to keep the Leopard for selfish reasons so it's a bit hard to be un-biased but...

when the name changed to "Steel Cats" the size factor is eliminated/ not so obvious.  The original "Big Cats" was intended to be what we all think of...the Tiger and Panther.  Sooooo...T-man...I think I'll try to zip-itZip it! and let you make the final determnation...it seems to be a time period decision you need to make.

Looks like you guys already have a great badge in the works. Interesting we came up with similar font style.

Oh well, anyways here's what I came up with;

Well I suppose I stepped in it. I didn't mean to be so grey .

Okay, I'll be a meanie and drop the Leopard for some of the same reasons I omitted the Hellcat. If we allow one, then we perhaps should allow the other. Then we open it up to others including the Lynx, which doesn't qualify under the old name.

I guess the name change is misleading, but let's say it pertains to only TIGERS and PANTHERS and their variants. This was my real intention. I wasn't aware of the original GB, so steel cats is a generic sequel name. I do believe that I might have opened it up a little by allowing variants which I think wasn't part of the first.

Eric: No sweat on the grey thing, Tigers and Panthers it is!

HOLY **** on that cat women badge...I LOVE IT!  It gets away from the "heavy" feel of the tanks but it sure emphasizes the "sexy" part!...which, BTW IMHO,  is part of the reason I think we like German armor, it has a very unique and appealing look...not just functional.

What say you post a vote for the badge?

I don't think Ann Hathaway is quite so...ummm..."endowed"! Whoever she is, I'll take some more of that, though. Heh.

Tigers and Panthers it is! Already thinking about what I could do that would be interesting. Some good ideas kicking around already.

SMJ - you're going to shoot me - don't think I can make it to AMPS East this year. First time in 6 years. Ouch. Your number still the same? I'll give you a call some time.

The person used in my badge is an adult model from Montreal, named Bianca Beauchamp, and is famous for her latex photo shoots.

Looks like Carl has the design well in hand,  Judging by responses, everyone would be happy with that one, but some seem dead set against the use of the female form.  So, although there were a few ideas I still wanted to try out on mine, I'll graciously bow out of the running. Bow Down

Jack I do like your badge. I think Shell's captured the theme pretty well. Believe me, I have no problem building for hot ladies in badges as evidence of your awesome one from That's Amore GB.

I do believe I've hear of her name. I guess i'd better google her. Stick out tongue

I have a question, would putting Wehrmacht on the banner exclude SS Tigers and Panthers, because the Wehrmacht or Heer was technically seperate from the SS units? Im not sure if my understanding is correct though, fill me in please

I guess after Jack used the term 'adult' you know a websearch isn't work-safe (unless your boss is Hugh Heffner). I accidently found four of five sites of photos of her earlier this year Wink

How bout this one?

Interesting point. Maybe we should rename it German, because some modelers might want to make SS units.

I'll redo it to read German .............no problem . The reason i used Wehrmacht was to narrow the "cats down to the era of the Wehrmacht and therefore elimminate the German "cats" that came later (Leopard and others ) Toast

Yeah, maybe just change Wehrmacht to German. Anthony pointed out that the arm band and Balkan cross signify WW II.

I'm done with the IDF GB and have a Tamiya KT "Ardennes" and a set of Friuls, just waiting to go.....

I just need to do enough research to find a good photo of a subject to model, and make sure the Friuls I have are appropriate for the KT I have.
