wow, I can't believe its already been two weeks since I last posted anything!  Surprise  Sorry, I'm back to working 12 hours, six days a week and been too pooped to even get on the forums...Dead  I've got another week like this and then I get a break for a few days, but I might be able to get a few things done tomorrow night.Whistling

Still I managed to get caught up this evening and read the last 3 pages of posts:

Shawker - the little King Tiger (P) is coming along great!  Love the zim work you did in braille scale!

malone - that is one sweet looking little Panther!  Superb work on all the detail, painting and weathering!  [Y]

Carl - I must have missed most of your work on that Jagdtiger, sorry dude!  All I can say is what a great looking JT you've completed!  One of the best I've seen!  Oh, whahappen to the last photo you posted?  Something about "Extended, extended....."?  C'mon, don't keep us in suspense! Blind Fold

Dave - progress on your Panther may be slow, but your great work is all in the details!  Loving it so far!  Keep it up!

Reserve - cool dio with the Tiger!  I like the action poses of the figures!  Which Tiger kit is this?

armor86 - didn't realize you had switched camo colors, but it still looks great!

Ernest , how you doing my friend !

You didn't miss much on the Jagd because i didn't post much of the build up on it here .I'm just getting backup to speed on this sight myself .

There was no picture posted below my text . Photo bucket has been doing that "sorry" thing on every one of my post here at FSM . I don't get why but it only happens on this sight

Your comments are much appreciated ! Thanks .

Hey Bish , thanks for helping out bro !

I did delete some library's at p.b. last week , now that you mention it.

Strange thing is that i'm not trying to post a pic in my post , so where this phantom "sorry" thingy from P.B. is coming from I have no idea .

Thanks again .Yes

Isn't that a part of your signature. It must be a broken link to what ever image you had in there.

Thanks, Ernest and everyone else for the kind comments...

Well, I think the build phase is DONE! I've finished up my little punch list. Next update it'll be covered in paint. Stick out tongue

Side skirt retaining plates, tool clasps, gun travel lock chain and a bunch of other little stuff. Let me know if you see something that needs fixin' Surprise (Tools were left off for painting separate from the main model. Some have the tool clamps glued onto them instead of the tool bracket.)

...and it only took 4 months! Huh? Geez.

Calling this one done. As always, never fully satisfied, but I have to move on. The numbers are incorrect of course, and other mistakes are visible. The tracks are the kits and they were okay, but split where they connect. Not happy with the weathering on the spares, but like I said, I need to move on.

Thanks T-Bolt and Carl. You're right, we are our own worst critics. None-the-less, I will try to get my Tiger done for the GB. We'll see.

Mark: Like it! I was thinking 'Hans, you always pick the worst times to go take a leak!'  Nice job on the Tiger, the figure, and the dio!

Eric: What's the problem? She looks good to me! I guess some people would tell you to go with more weathering but I like a nice, sharp, clean build, I cover lots of mine with mud to try to hide problems but she looks good enough she doesn't need it!

Dave: Nice work there with all those fiddly little bits!

Ernest: That night scope looks cool, looking forward to seeing it mounted.

Ernest= mine is actually 1/35 but thanks for the compliment on the zim.  My wife doesn't give me a big allowance so I try to make what I can.  Wait til you see the screens I made for the rear made from actual screen door mesh.

Eric=  If you would not have said anything about the numbers i wouldn't have noticed she still looks great love the camo, and the sag is about right if she is in motion, if static then maybe a  .00001 off.

I will post some new pics tomorrow just got back from a two school trip with my kids, and started the working the weathering and rusting.  I use a mix of mig pigments and pastel artist chalk.  Had to remove the first set of decals as they were the wrong ones and put on backwards (lol)  I feel like Ernest the older I get the dumber I feel.

Keep up the great work guys.

I went by the boxart which shows the tracks off the front wheels. I think a reference book confirmed this. I agree it doesn't  look 100% on.

Gamera, I've never been big on weathering, but I was trying not to cover up the dot filters which I thought turned out well for the most part.

Eric I think she looks great I forgot we actually deal in that micro size for adjustments on models and meant for it to be sarcastic.  There is nothing wrong with the tracks.  On a critics side she is Awesome that is my second favorite camo pattern I just can't do it and to scared to try.

Malone - nice little Panther build you have there.  I like, as it appears to me,  how you have maintained the military  camou colours.

Carl - a sweet job you made of the Jagdtiger.  Very rich in colour even with the limited palette of a monotone scheme.  Did you add any further weathering to the tracks besides that corrosive chemical?

Dave - capital  detail work on your Panther.  Looking forward to see the paint.

Reserve - solid work on that Tiger dio, always nice to see figures.  Wish I could  see some of the tone variations that you have happening on the road surface, show up on the vehicle.

Eric - that is a fine Jagdpanther you have put together.  I think it very successful and  overrides any issue with the numbers.

----------------------------

It is has been a while for any updates from me.  Spent several days (and several decal sheets) trying to solve the problem with my home made decals.  Main reason being the screen is not calibrated to my printer, so every alteration I make has to be test printed first.

I plan to use a different approach, but to make up for lost time decided to work backwards and deal with the base for now.   The wood surface has been finished and I've got the brass/decal nameplate in place. The top has celluclay and some fine ballast - waiting to paint the groundwork next.

regards,

Jack
