Thanks guys.

Nathan, I haven't found any pics online of the one I am doing, but it's the one on the side of the box

But Hasegawa misses out the white tail and rudder. Also I wasn't to happy with the kit decals, especially the white 9, so that why I am using a set of AM decals.

There are quite a few photo's of this aircraft in some of the books I have, it belongs to JG 27 and operated from Greece and Crete. I do have a few more 109's in the stash, in fact I just got tow more today. I am sure I can fit another one in soon.

Oh got it. The box art is alittle ancient, lol. Micky Mouse on the side and a green clover badge of some sort?

It is a very old kit. But still decent enough with some extra goodies thrown in.

Stik, I was never sure if that was a real scheme or something they had made up, as I haven't come across it. Do you know what unit it belong to.

The Mickey Mouse 109G was the mount of Capt Horst Carganico when he was in command of II.JG5. He would be credited with a total of 60 aerial victories, including 6 against the Western Allies, where he died in May 1944 in a crash.

Here is the box side aircraft. I was getting it confused with the mount of another flyer. But this guy was a 17 victory ace, Emil Klade.

Well there you go, hase didn't make it up. I knew some German aircraft had a Mickey Mouse ninsignia, but not one like that, and as it has no number, that made me think it was made up.

That second pic is one of a number I have seen of White 9. It seems to have been a popular subject. I believe that photo was taken at Maleme on Crete. And thanks for posting it. It is bigger than the one I have and helps answer a question. The decal instructions call for RLM 02 under the 9 and the white vertical bar at the back. But I couldn't confirm that. From the looks of it, it does have those patches. Thanks again.

Yes bish, I'm doing a Tiger for this GB and a Panzer IV for the D-Day GB, I don't think the IV is that bad, but combine the two and its 48 wheels to paint both sides twice (once red for the primer, then the base coat).

I've just about finished construction on my 1/48 Sd Kfz 232 8-Rad for this GB, the wheels will be attached after painting. Not a bad little kit. Camo will be a green pattern over sand.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

I'll join the fun as well in a few weeks. I finally got an email notification about my Airacobra spinner. They sent it on it's way to me (after more than 3 damn months of waiting!!!!).

Tony, nice work.

Clemen's, good to hear you finally got your bits.

I do seem to recall sub saying he might have to go away towards the end of the year, but he was defiantly planning a 44GB.

Never seen one of their 1:48 vehicles in grey plastic before, or is it someone else's molds like that 88mm gun?

Hi,

Can I join this Group Build with a 1/32 Spitfire Mk. IX (Poland, Skalski Circus, 1943)?? I've just started this kit, and I'm looking for a group build I can fit this in.

Becky, I am not sure when Sub is going to be able to get back to you. I think he may be away on duty some where. The GB is still open, so if your build is from 1943, I think it will be ok.

Here's a small up date on my Me 109. Got the wings and fuselage together and the white band and tail painted. I should have the undersides painted this week some time.

Sorry, I'm progressing and not taking pictures. The whole not walking things sucks. I painted the Tiger MM Rust, and I am now painting it Afrika Braun 1942. I'll try to post my work over the weekend, but then again I wanted it done a week or two ago, sigh...

Hey guys, I hope its not too late to join. Sign me up for a 1/48 P-47D. I've know I've already commited another P-47D for the Longest Day GB, but my dad has always been crazy about the P-47, and I've been thinking about making one for him for Christmas he can put on his desk at work. So I came across a Revell razorback on ebay for $7 and found a neat set of Eagle Srike decals for another $7, so not counting paint and time, I'm only going to be in it for 14 bucks. Figured it couldn't hurt to go ahead and enter it in this and share the build with everyone.

It'll be a 353rd FG jug flying out of Metfield in late '43.

Stik, I broke a bone in my foot so I'm in a cast for 3 more weeks (6 total) and then have to go to a walking boot. It's the worst place to break it so I have to be careful. Luckily I live with my parents still so they get my model supplies when I need it, but I have no room to take pictures with my limited work space in front of the couch.

Oh that sucks, but at least it's temporary. Get well quick my freind. I have been in similar straights due to disagreements between myself, a runway, and a parachute... but not for so long. I look forward to the progress photos when you can post them.

AJD the host of this GB has been MIA for a bit now, so I doubt he would argue with jump in and share if you can and care to partake.

I think it's gen-u-wine Tamiya this time. Their Tiger 1 early also had grey plastic, maybe they use it when the scheme they show on the box top is grey.

Cheers
