I was a my LHS today and there was Rosco's squad car sitting on top of a Caddy Escalade. I took it as as a sign so count me in.

Has anyone even started on their Zombie-car build yet?

I've put a coat of primer on the interior of my Escalade body, so far.

Stephen said he'd consider a government response GB later on after this one so I've been sitting on my US Government Department of Monster Control Escalade.

I'm stripping the chrome and researching 'zombie cars' to get some ideas of where I want to go with this thing.

Here's an interesting vehicle being marketed by Hyundai:

Guys, I checked and Stephan's last post here was over a month and a half ago, I don't know if he's still on this site. Guess there's no reason not to continue the GB if you guys have subjects though.

Stephan if you're still on this site, sorry! Just yell at me ok?

Life gets in the way of fun sometimes, so maybe he's just busy (holidays and all).

I plan to finish out my build regardless; it was something I was toying with anyway.

Ken: Yeah, I'd love to see how your car comes out!

I'm going to try to finish some stuff off and get started on my SUV sometime around spring.

priming is done and interior has it's initial paint. Still trying to decide on exterior color. I was going to go with flat black but I debating gray (like the hyundai above) instead. I'm thinking it may show more detail that could get lost in the black. I'm keeping the whole thing pretty subtle and 'realistic', so no major changes to the body.

Greetings....

here's a few pics of my zombie caddy....

the undercarriage minus the brakes (waiting to de-chrome), shocks (waiting for paint) and exhaust tips

the interior sides base coated in primer grey- still need to paint the details

floor pan, roof accent and steering column & wheel pre-painted with Tamiya panzer grey.  I have a can of MM fabric black, I may use it for the floor of the cargo area.  I still need to fill the two slits in the rear floor. Sad

Nice work! I guess you could pop out the moon roof to shoot, just don't let 'em climb though it!

Lol, cool video!

Rick and Daryl, move over. Kenposan has the civilian zombie ride!

The was a fun project and it definitely tested some new skills.

The vehicle is a 2005 Caddy Escalade by AMT.

Here is a side shot:

I was initially going to paint it all black (because as we all know, the only color in a post apocalyptic world is black) but I was afraid it would look a bit boring. So I added the gray to give a nice two tone look.

I picked up some round plastic rods at my LHC and crafted the window grills. My first ever attempt at scratch building anything. They were frustrating to do but turned out nicely I think. Fortunately, "amatuer" is the look I was shooting for!

A front shot:

I was going to make the front 'zombie guard' out of the same round rods but when I started messing around with it I decided to use some square stuff I had in an assortment pack. I was easier. :-)

What you can't see in the pic is the blood splatter on the right front of the guard, headlight, and side panel.

The other side:

The CB antenna base is from the Dukes of Hazard Sheriff's car. I made a new antenna because the original was too thick.

Rear shot:

Very dirty. Car washes don't work after the zombie apocalypse.

An interior shot:

The CB is from the Sheriff's car. I made L brackets to 'mount' it to the dash board. It's a hack job but hey, zombies!!!

Another shot:

A side/top shot:

Got the trusty shotgun in the back seat. It came from the Sheriff's car too. And apparently we had a flat at some point, probably after hitting that zombie. Good thing we got some tools in the back:

The tools are leftover from my Alien NASCAR build. They're actually the wrong scale but close enough.

The crossbow was semi scratch built. The stock was from the Sheriff's car. It was all chrome and nasty so I stripped it. Underneath it had NO detail, perfect for a crossbow. Can't see it in the pic it does have a bow string. The camo didn't turn out as nice as I'd like but it's okay.

Thanks for viewing.

Ken: I luv the EXT!  Nice work on all the little extras.  Kudos for the modified crossbow- I never would have thought of doing that!

Hopefully, I'll get mine finished this weekend or next.  I'm just finishing up the interior....complete with MRE boxes....and an axe.Surprise  Trying to figure out how to scratchbuild a front bumperguard like the one on the Governor's Ford Excursion

I like the guard on the Governor's Ford.  A bit complex for me at the moment. Good luck, it'll look great.

For the discerning Zombie Hunter, may I recommend the Chrysler 300 C Hemi SRT8 for your Hunting Luxury.

We have taken all the drudgery out of Zombie Hunting for that Ultimate Response Vehicle. Tinted glass, to cut down on glare off their lifeless eyes; TV screens, when hunting is slow; Oversizes wheels to cut down on those terrible Thumps; Custom interior, so you may hunt in style; Scissor doors, to move that armor plating out of the way fast; Amplifier and subwoofer to drown out those whales and gun fire. Not to mention...... a Hemi, to get you there and out of there in record timeWow
