Besides, where the heck would I get ammo fir the helicopter rocket pod?!  I really doubt my local Costco or WalMart carry them! Huh?

Yes because finding a rocket pod is harder than to find ammo for it...
If you can get your hands on something like that, it isn't hard to get ammo.
Also, I said getting onto military bases, got enough ammo for months.
And the rocket pod is just an example, I think that putting a freakk'ng rocket pod on a car isn't easier than installing a 50 cal on your hood...

And don't think people from the middle east are any handier than your next door neighbor, but okay, if this doesn't convince anybody...

Yes, the rules of the GB are "what your neighbor could do". I toyed with that phasing for a long time because one of my neighbor is a retired marine that is really handy with building things and another builds his own 4X4s. So then I thought, "there's a National Guard unit not too far away, wonder what I could find there...."

In the end, I decide to stick to "what I could reasonably do" because I wanted to keep it 'real' (TWD real).

So is Dogfish's car totally out of the scope of the GB? probably, unless he's got some really handy neighbors. Then you get into the weight/suspension issues and 'where does one find a flame thrower these days...".

Dogfish,

If you decide to not continue the GB, please start a Sci Fi thread cuz I think the car is still pretty damn cool.

If I may jump in for Dogfish he's already posted over on the SF forum. His zombie fryer is painted and I'm waiting for his next update with weathering. Looks pretty darn snazzy so far IMHO.

Thanks guys. I don't wish to cause any drama here, so moved it over to Sci- Fi. Thanks for the compliments. This is really a fun build, realistic or NOT:)

Top 10 Lessons for Surviving a Zombie Attack

  1. Organize before they rise!
  2. They feel no fear, why should you?
  3. Use your head: cut off theirs.
  4. Blades don’t need reloading.
  5. Ideal protection = tight clothes, short hair.
  6. Get up the staircase, then destroy it.
  7. Get out of the car, get onto the bike.
  8. Keep moving, keep low, keep quiet, keep alert!
  9. No place is safe, only safer.
  10. The zombie may be gone, but the threat lives on.

I know the end date has come and gone....but according to #10.....the threat lives on!  After reading the above list, and taking #7 to heart, I'll be starting on a motorcycle this weekend. Not one oft those obnoxiously loud Harley that the owner's made an illegal mod to...but a nice vintage bike that can take to the off road when needed, without any problem, to lose the walkers.

I have the following in my stash....

  • WLA (1942 Harley-Davidson)
  • BMW R75
  • Zündapp KS 750
  • DKW NZ 350
  • Kawasaki (?)

I'll be going with the NZ 350, as it has dual saddle boxes, 2-seats and a luggage rack.Huh?

Here's what I've done so far on the DKW motorcycle:

the left side

the right side

the upper frontal view

Since this is a zombie build, I'll need weapons, right? How about....

an H&K MP5 SD2 w/telescopic sight

Remington 870 12-ga pump shotgun

and a silenced pistol

Now to look for a bayonet....
