Great job, love the base too!

Just posted you to the front page, btw is this a Hobbyboss kit? And what's the name of the vehicle please, I think you said so but I forgot to update the front page and only had TBA up. Sorry!

Thanks! Front page corrected. And of course, if you don't like the photo yell at me and I'll change it out for another.

That came out great Waynec, the base looks fantastic and really adds to the model. Yes

And as an update from me, my build should be finished within this week, I got most of it done while watching Le Mans over the weekend.

Gee wow! The crane is a model in and of itself! You should do a second one, put in on a small base and enter it into a contest just as a crane!

Hi all,

It's a long time ago since my last posting here about my Yamato. A few months ago a truck wanted to ride on the same place where I was with my Toyota Starlet. He won...

The car was scrap, and francly I was too. Now I'm back from hospital and all bones and guts are on the correct place again, so I'll continue with the Yamato. And an I-400 1:350...

Hope to post soon again!

Cheers,

Paul

Yikes! I'm glad you're out of the hospital, I hope you're feeling ok now. Gee, I'm always complaining but I should be happy I've never been in a serious car accident.

Looking forward to more photos if you're feeling up to it.

hi paul

glad you are ok. and welcome back.

and for all of us note this is proof the laws of physics are real. we tend to forget this when a part hits the floor and defies all the laws of physics concerning where it goes.

I just had a brief look through this GB and there is some stunning work in here!

Mind if I join the fun, Cliff?

I started building Tamiya's Hayate (1/48) today. I just discovered this GB after spraying the cockpit. Please put me down for the mentioned kit, if you don't mind and if it qualifies for the GB.

My progress so far: Cockpit is painted and assembled, but still awaiting some minor weathering.

Cheers, Clemens

Glad you are in one piece again, Paul! I'll follow your build with much interest, as I want to try my hand on a ship as well at some point. It's going to be either a Yamato or a Bismarck...

Clemons: May you? Would be thrilled to have you! The more the merrier.

This is pretty informal, I think I said anything up to 50% built, aka assembled but not painted is fine. I'll put you down!

Thank you very much!

The cockpit is now completed, but I still have to make myself some seatbelts. Any Ideas on this?

Well, Eduard sells sets of nothing but PE seatbelts that I sometimes use. You can make them by cutting thin strips of tape too.

I thought about Eduard's belts as well, but I don't want to spend money on AM parts for this kit, as I'll display the canopy closed anyway. The cockpit consists of only 4 parts and the amount of details is not up to Tamiya's standards today (it's an old kit). Furthermore, the canopy parts are so thick that you can't really see anything inside once they are in place...

I'd like to give the idea with the tape a go, but what shall I use for the buckles? It doesn't have to be perfect, as you probably won't see them anyway, but I want them to be there at least in some form...

Nevermind. I have some spare PE-buckles from some HGW belts left. They are for US-belts, but you won't be able to tell the difference once the canopy is closed up...

Sounds good, I doubt anyone will be able to ever see the difference. In some cases where the belts are hard to see or in 1/72nd I'll just 'suggest' them with a little stripe of silver paint.

After a problem and fixing a broken Camera, I am back in the Game. The Hull and Sub-Assemblies are being painted and weathered and a new Wooden deck has now been fitted. Will have more for you again shortly.....Cheers mark
