Finished up my Raiden.

I used the kit decals which didn't turn out too bad, although some of them started to disintegrate. I'm particularly proud of my save on the starboard Hinomaru which cracked in about 6 pieces.

Sorry the pics are a little out of focus. I think I had the wrong 'scene' set on my camera

I thought I already threw my hat in this ring, but I guess I forgot to do so.  Can I join up with the 1/48 Hasegawa KI-84?  I got some nice Sky Decals for it.

Nice work on the Raiden. The glosscoat really shines. Great painting.

   Got the major painting done.

The pre-shading shows of better on the bottom rather than the top and the green shows through the yellow stripes in some places.

I used salt for the chipping.

Still need to decals and some fiddly bits.

Ok badges FINALLY!!!

Under the fun badge #5 was the clear winner with 4 votes

Number 8, 11, 12 and 15 all got one vote- so I went ahead and cast the tie-breaker for #15 Stick out tongue

Under aircraft/serious badges 6 and 9 lead with two votes each - 1,2,8,11, and 15 each got one vote apiece.

This was just something I threw together - if anyone with more artistic talent wants to have a go at it here are the original pics below:

BTW: Bsyamato, just posted you as the first photo up on the roster, if you'd like me to change it out for another let me know.

Ouch! I always do the yellow first, seems it's impossible to get it to cover anything.

Gamera

Winetanker: Not too many gaps, she's close to ready for paint.

Yep, I started painting her this weekend and was doing a decent if unspectacular job until.....I painted the yellow stripe on the leading edge and the paint ran underneath the tape.

I should have done the yellow first anyhow, but plum forgot. Hopefully I'll get it touched up tomorrow.

Oh...nice looking Zuikaku, surfsup!

I love saying that name...Zuikaku.....Zuikaku!!!

Bsyamato: Nice work!!! I'll try to get you posted to the roster soon, my internet is down at home where it's easier to post stuff then here at work.

Surfsup: Oh, she's sharp! Is the whole deck PE? Looks like some fantastic detail there.

Winetanker: Not too many gaps, she's close to ready for paint.

Well, I thought I'd get the final badges up this weekend till I found my ISP was down all three days. I'll try to get something up for the final vote when I can.

Thanx for comments guys Toast

I preferred  to not exagerate with paint chipping using a "0" brush and hu11 silver from humbrol.

Here final pictures before to fix on the wood base

I like the panel line shading on the Judy BSY, it's come up really well.

Cheers

Tony

Ditto that. It stands out without being 'pristine'.

It's what I'll be attempting, along with some paint chipping....

Got most of my Raiden put together. Need to fill a few gaps and then on to paint.

My aotake looks a bit more garish in the photo than in RL. I may hit it with some flat....

Yeah nice work on the Judy and love the carrier deck!

The 108 and Tenzan look like they'll make really nice models too.

Gamera

Waynec: Looks good to me! Looks like a nice kit and cool camo to paint.

Bsyamato: Well, you'll probably be the first done for this GB! Again, nice work, almost there.

Started work on the mortar crew yesterday, lots of flash but amazed that so far I've only broken one piece of the delicate resin!

Too easy to gain the badge with the Judy Propeller will pick the badge when i'll finish the 108 or the Tenzan Embarrassed

Nice pieces you found there Yes

Heres actual 99% completed judy: also sterted a wooden base to glue in. This will be a gift for a non-modeller friend , so a base is needed to keep the judy safe Surprise

just to paint lights and some minor adjust needed before to finish.

Then introducing also boxart and sprues of the other buils involved here (..for now Embarrassed)

the heller taifun! decals not yet founded Embarrassed

And the fujimi Tenzan

dryfit with main pieces

some works was done even on the Tenzan as showed on the firts part of the GB, will resume all asap Big Smile

Looking forward to the Ki-100, nice looking plane. The PE sounds really good, I use the ZOOM sets but I tend to mess up a lot of it so I've gotten to not invest too much in it. Maybe I can pick up some pointers from you!

Thats alot of resin Gamera. I'll be starting the Ki-100 next week. I'm eying the Eduard Pe set for the exterior as I've got the pit covered thanks to Aires, but dang thats another 16/17 bucks. I also have to decide if I'm going to use the kit decals...but thats a ways away yet...
