Thanx for posting
rtoo speed makes ugly results, too relax don't make results
I'm glad that you liked it sir. A very poignant scene from a very underrated film.

Thanks Stik, haven't seen it in a while. Pretty powerful..
Beautiful work BSY.
For a little Hollywood inspiration of an IJA aircraft build.
Very nice work Bsyamato!
Basically finished, all piece glued (out of fuel tank .. i forget about but soon finished he too), scratchbuilded the pitot and the two guns with stretched sprue
At the next!
Looks great guys!!!
SP: I'll get you posted when I get home.

Thank you Jibber. Yes I considered the yellow stripe, but the few clear photos I could find of Chi Ha's on Guadalcanal did not have the stripe visible. I would like to do another, either in Phillipines or Malaya perhaps, with the Yellow stripe. You are very right about those tracks not having much play. I am pleased with how the final look turned out.
Stik the Chi Ha is impressive, I kept wondering how you were going to finish it. The weathering and finish is great and you pulled off the tracks beautifully. Theres not a lot of play in those rubber bands. I was wondering did you consider the yellow stripe, I think I'm going to add it. I just got in and trying to catch up, I'll get back in a bit. Nice addition to your other builds.
Thank you Nathan. The Matt Coat and Tamiya weathering stuff really did the trick there.
I like the finished chi Ha Stik. It really comes to life after the pigments and other weathering. Everything is toned down nicely and looks very realistic.
BsYamato, I really want a Raiden of my own now. Nice work on the thermoformed canopy. You have some serious modeling skill there, especially for 1/72 work.
Beautiful work there yourself, BSY. That little Raiden is looking very sharp indeed! And thank you for the compliments. I am glad you liked my work.
Top work Stik really convincent weathering !
thanx for comments guys
near the end me too:
Problems with the cutted canopy... he don't work so good in open position... loosing in realism
a new thermoformed one is needed! so using european equivalent of blue tac, a candle and acetate strip i did a new one:
helping with masking tape i cut the shape , first in the vertical way and afyter refinig horizontal part
he work!
really clean!
masked using original piece as dime
glued the canopy (after painted it..) , gears and wheels on and painted last missing details. also final weathering touchs
Very nice work on both the Raiden (BSY), and the Chi Ha (Stik). I'd really like a Chi Ha in 1/48, but Tamiya haven't come to the party yet. I'm in for the next iteration of this GB too, I bought another Tamiya Nanzan on the weekend, so I can finish the other scheme that this aircraft wore.
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
Thank you Alex and Clemens. I will still get a shot or three of the Chi Ha added once the TC figure is completed in the next little bit here. But it does feel good to finish these two.
If I could pick the shot for the front page though, I like the one with the Chi Ha and the "Woodpecker".
Thoroughly convincing finish on the tank Stik, and great work thus far Bsyamato!
Great work, Stik! The overall finish looks very convincing!
Well, except for the TC figure, I am calling this one done. Today I painted the ID lights on the rear hull, created a headlight lens with Testors Clear Parts Glue, and them added final weathering with Tamiya Weathering compact- Rust & Soot on the exhausts and Mud & Sand on the vehicle...
and with that "woodpecker" MG that I also finished up today...
I got the top flat coat airbrushed on this afternoon... tomorrow final weathering
Great work guys! I'm almost done with the detail painting of the Zero's cockpit, so expect some pics in the near future...
jibber I think I'll use Wayne's technique using silly putty. I hate using it on AFV's because of the smaller pieces like handholds etc but on this one I think it'll work. I'll post the pics. Have a safe trip..

the tank looks great. the camera definitely pics up things the eye doesn't much like zooming onto pixel level on a photograph.
interesting. the smaller pieces and handholds are the reason i use it though sometimes i leave them off, base coat them, and add them and handpaint the camo on them. if i am not doing a specific vehicle i will "adjust" a pattern to avoid some handles and stuff (cheating or smart, you decide?). be carefull pulling it off as i have pulled little pieces off if i rush.
and i just starting doing pin washes after a bad paint job on a syrian police BRDM-2 earlier this year. now it's great and have gone back on some of my finished builds and added some. i also use pins for sagging track
Никто не Забыт (No one is Forgotten)Ничто не Забыто (Nothing is Forgotten)
Yes, the pin method is fairly straightforward. This is the first time that I have done it in over 40 years of building models. Go figure... LOL! Like I said, except for one pin, it went easily enough. Next time I use it, it will turn out better I think. Yes, next up a matt top coat and then some final weathering with Tamiya weathering items and I will call this one done.
SP: Again nice work! Looks like she just needs a coat of matte varnish and she'll be done. I've tried various ways to get sagged tracks and the pin method seems the easiest and most foolproof.
Indeed it does. It looks much better on my desktop monitor than on my iPhone screen...
Well here are the progress shots of today's efforts on my Chi Ha. First up the now "sagged" tracks.
Then after I had unwound a bit I went back and did the needed dry brushing on the exhausts to make those more lifelike- rust on the bare metal parts and camo colors on the mesh to set off the wash in there better. and finally a rear shot to show that angle of the exhausts work and the only decal that I used on this kit- the license plate or serial number. Not exactly sure what that thing is titled.

It just comes alive when those decals go on..Nice
Hey thanks guys!
BTW: I'll post the sign-ups for Japanese GB III when I get back. Should be around the 24-25th.
Looks good Bsyamato! The aotake looks great and like the wash.
That is some very sharp work there on your Raiden BSY.
Great updates guys, excellent works on the Ki-100 Nathan
here my fake aotake on the raiden
and washing process with enamels
Have a good vacancy chief Cliff
Hey thanks Clemons!
Jibber & SP: Sounds good, looking forward to the photos with the camo.
